I'm sure there ha to be more than a few users who play World of Warcraft and I need as much help as I can get when it comes to subscriptions. Ever since I saw the movie, I really liked it and decided that I wanted to play so I got the starter game to test it out.

I could just keep playing that over and over because I don't want to pay more than a hundred dollars a year to play, but I have some questions about what things do with subscriptions.

I have the code from the Warcraft movie promotion that gives you the copy of the game, and I wanted to know what happens once a subscription runs out? Let's say I use up the free month and don't pay, or decide to pay for another month or two, and then stop, what happens then?

From what I have heard, you just go back to the starter game, but what happens with everything you have gotten already? Do your characters just disappear? Do all the levels, gold, etc disappear? If you decide to pay again after like a month or two, do you need to start all over again from scratch?

I don't personally play WoW but from other subscription-based games I would think that if your character is over the level limit of the starter game (level 20?), then once your sub runs out, you cannot access your account until you renew it. Your character stays intact and nothing happens to it. If you ever decide to renew your sub then you can pick up where you left off.

zanderlex :   I have been playing for many years now.  Once you create a character on a server, it never goes away, ever.  Just remember what server you play on, your password and user name (ie email account)  When your subscription runs out, you have a few options.  You can renew or cancel.  I imagine what they gave you was a month free up to lvl 20?  if you like it, you can continue to pay for it, or if you don't, you cancel your subscription.  The character you made will always be there, and you can make up 8-10 characters per server depending on whether you like pvp (player vs player) or pve (player vs everything) or if you just want an rp ( role playing ) server...good luck with that last one as they really don't exist anymore there.  It is a very great game, and I have been playing for almost a decade now.  I have many characters on the Feathermoon server, but it has been boring as of late, so I am trying out games here on Vizzed I have never played or had the chance to beat.  I hope the movie was awesome, and I can't wait to see it because it looks visually stunning.  Been playing the Blizzard games since the first warcraft and lost vikings.  If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask me

Essentially, yes. Doing the same quest lines seems like it would get boring tho.

As for the movie, the critics are morons.
The movie is great... if they stopped all voting on movies together, we might get a decent review for once.

I spent like 6 hours today just collecting gold and killing. So much fun.

Vanelan : Naturally they will, Simply because unless you know WoW lore the start is a bit of a rush of characters and such.. It's clearly a movie for fans of Warcraft... not for generic movie watchers... 

Plus as far as i'm aware all MMO's are the same regarding characters... just because your subscription runs out doesn't mean that any of your characters/belongings will be deleted... that'd be insane...

Still, it was a well made movie. It was like any other action movie if you don't know the lore though.

How much character development is there in a Schwarzenegger movie?
Film critics are just overly critical of movies based on games.
