Cometh E3
 

So as you are probably well aware by now, E3 is this month, in fact it starts tomorrow despite what the above banner (and every other ad) says, as the Microsoft, PlayStation, and Ubisoft press conferences, along with the following segments aren't included in the E3 dates for some reason.

So it is with this in mind that we're going to be taking a look at some rumors of what to expect at E3 2016, as well as hearing from the great Eirinn's crystal pudding dish - because as you may or may not (hopefully not) remember my discount Crystal ball failed me horribly last year. That's right, my own personal E3 predictions will be listed here along with those of others, and I am not afraid to give my predictions an accuracy guarantee this year, a 0% accuracy guaranteed guarantee.

Enough of that though. Off we go.



Stealing a page from Sony's E3 2015 playbook, I'm going to drop the big bombshell right out of the gates:

Crash is coming back
That's right folks, I'm calling it now: everyone's favorite Bandicoot - the one everyone has been all but pleading for a return appearance from for three years - will show up at E3 2016. Write it down because it is SO happening...probably.

But it's too easy to throw out a bunch of words, what about some backing? Here are my personal reasonings as to why Crash is all but a shoo in.

1. It seems as though hints have been flying like crazy for the past year, and while none of these apparent hints seemed that significant and they could all be written off as coincidence or misunderstanding, when all of them are taken into account it's hard to think they were all coincidences.

2. A return only makes sense. Millions of people are chomping at the bits for a new Crash game and being vocal about it. Why would Activision not capitalize on that? And Sony is more than able to convince Activision as well, with enough green stuff.

3. The man who voiced Dr. Cortex recently took to Twitter to say that he had been asked to revive an old character he used to voice. His only hint was that this character was a doctor.

4. A(n apparently legit) retailer recently listed a Crash Bandicoot game set for release in 2017 as available for preorder. The game's genre was listed as "Run and Jump". That this happened about a week before E3 is likely not coincidental, be it legitimate or a hoax.

Likelihood :
I'm giving this one a 90% chance. That's the second highest likelihood rating I'll be giving anything today, as my pudding dish isn't as clear as usual for some reason. Now if you'll pardon me, I'll go pack my bags so I can flee before I am hunted down in the event that Crash doesn't show up.


More PSVR stuff:
Yes sadly we'll see more from PSVR even though it won't be released until this Autumn. Why? Sony has a huge amount of money and assets (Vita anyone?) tied up in this thing, and as such they'll want to get us as hyped as possible about it. Can't blame them, but I would just as soon pretend the thing didn't exist personally.

Likelihood:
99%. Yeah, I'm that sure unfortunately. Let us hope I'm just seeing a pudding smudge, but it looks like PSVR to me.


Horizon: Zero Dawn gameplay and release date:
It's been all but guaranteed with massive billboard posters showing up in L.A. And given the reaction it got last year, Sony would be silly not to show it off again if a release date is even remotely close to being settled on.

Likelihood:
85%. This one is so clear I would be shocked to see it not show up. But then banana pudding isn't the best flavor for predictions, so who knows.


PS4.5/Neo:
Now I'm still not sold on the idea that Neo is a real thing since Sony has never confirmed it, but I'm reading their silence up to this point as an affirmative answer to the question of the masses. My guess is that they would have squelched any false rumors to avoid getting the hopes of those who actually want it up, and failed to acknowledge or deny it's existence if they wanted to hype it up because they can be marketing geniuses when they want to be...it's just a struggle making them want to be.

Likelihood:
50%. Yeah, I really don't have much faith in this one, but I wanted to list it since it's all anyone has wanted to talk about for several months now. This is more me addressing the elephant in the room (at least for me. Everyone else seems to want to acknowledge it) than me making a prediction. I barely even want to give it a 50%, but I'm about as neutral as possible, largely because I'm trying hard as I can to be in denial. Leave me and my pudding in our happy little world of ignorant bliss all of you Neo hopefuls.



Rumors:
Now to address a few rumors...

God of War 4:
So this one is a rumor I've seen, and I'm inclined to agree. Sony dropped a big one with Uncharted 4 last year, and a franchise like that will be hard to follow. Now while I don't think GoW 4 can come close to Uncharted 4, it's one of the biggest franchises they can pull out right now...for whatever reason.

Likelihood:
60%. I'm not too confident in this one, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it either.

And...actually that's all I have by way of rumors. Odd.


So what do you think we'll see at Sony's E3 Press Conference? Will my pudding dish disappoint like my crystal ball did (a big thank you to Dave's Discount Divinery *glares*)? Let's hope not because that was just awful.

yoshirulez! : Lol! I nearly listed KH3, but I figure that'll be saved for Square Enix showing rather than Sony's press conference. I'm personally only going to give that one a 50% listing though, because the other one is still on the way, what...2.8? I don't remember anymore.

Also yay for Crash's return! Just remasters right now, but it's a start! And my predictions were 100% this year. :3 Also PS4.5 was apparently confirmed prior to E3 and I just missed it I guess.
