juuldude : To be honest, I kinda thought the same thing you mentioned, even if we DID manage to lynch a mafia, we would still be overpowered because they in essence would still "have majority".

Somehow I always suspected earth, but I thought mafia was avoiding attention, but was also active, it's hard to explain, but still, I knew no one would back me up, so I backed off.

Seishiro Leonhart : I can't blame you, you did what you could, but in the end they were the stronger group.
I wasn't sure what the mafia was doing either, but I found Blubcreator actually a bit suspicious since he was the first to vote for Barathemos, and with his overall behavior I thought he could very well be mafia, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions immediately and decided to see what other players would say first.

We had a lot of bad luck on the town's side, as all players who were voted to be killed during day rounds were town members :

Mafia certainly didn't start out strong considering they were offing their own people. Would've liked to see more of those gang wars.

Surgiac : All of the mafias we killer were on the other team or Free Agents which we couldn't have known so it was actually a pretty good start for us.

juuldude :

I wouldn't say it was bad luck, so much as poor play.

The town waited too long to start real discussion, and when they did, they got very little useful information.

By the time players were ready to use the information that others had given (soxfan849, for example, provided enough that it should have been clear certain players were not Mafia), the Mafia had been running the town.

Blub, starwars, and earthwarrior didn't play a fantastic game, but they didn't have to, since they were the only three people the town seemed intent on listening to.

This was a very very winnable game, and honestly, looking back on it, the game may have been skewed in the town's favor with the potato rules, especially where 3 of 6 bystanders (when I made the role set, I had expected only 2 or 3 to be alive, not 6, the Mafia got rather fortunate they only killed power roles) became Governors, with the ability to insta-kill anyone in the slightest bit suspicious.

Seishiro Leonhart, for example, was the only governor to use his ability, and it cost his team the game. He used his ability to shoot NovemberJoy, a player who had done nothing all game, rather than the three suspicious players who had been leading members of the town to the gallows.

Even if you aren't sure earthwarrior/starwars/Blub aren't Mafia, it makes more sense to shoot members of the town who are actively hurting your team than it does to shoot people who have shown no inkling of activity over the 2 months this game was active.

earthwarrior :

They were "free agents" but in reality, both Mafias won the game.

In this game, they were not competing against each other.

"Potato Rule - Two Mafias. Working together. Can only win if the assassin is dead."

You had no way of knowing, but you actively were killing teammates, so at best, it was a neutral event, but more realistically, it was a bad one.

Lord Leggy - King of IT : You certainly brought up some good points, we didn't do much in the beginning, which actually didn't help us at all. Our reasons to kill ZeeTee weren't very good, and our reason for Barathemos was flimsy, but I feel like we missed more information that usual, our maybe we didn't pick up any hints.

juuldude :

The information was out there. People just weren't willing to talk.

For example, this late-stage Day round had a lot of people either cleared or reasonably innocent.

juuldude - 100% innocent
pacman1755 - all but confirmed as innocent
Barathemos - basically proven innocent
NovemberJoy - Inactive
Popeye116 - ?
earthwarrior - Fishy
starwars293 - Fishy for backing up fishy person
UserMike - Inactive
Blubcreator - Fishy for backing up fishy person
A user of this - Basically proven innocent
Seishiro Leonhart - Proven innocent, but not very smart
Gamin'Gal - Inactive

Of all those players, 5 players were cleared, or put as not-fishy enough to avoid as votes. Three in particular (all who happened to be mafia) were fishy. Anyone who noticed would note they trended to vote together in a voting bloc. Alliances in this game are stupid and dangerous in day rounds. It makes it clear there are people operating with an agenda of some kind. Those agendas are dangerous if they are against the town, and fishy if they are with the town. In all cases, you investigate the fishy people.

The rest were either inactive which is a coin flip, or an unknown (Popeye116 wasn't exactly inactive, but neither was he relevant. I honestly couldn't have told you anything about him during the game, which is a great way to play if he was a member of the Mafia. But he wasn't.

So how does the town vote on this crucial day round?

You listen to someone who is already very fishy, and vote by mob to take out Barathemos, one of the only players left in the game who COULD have helped the town at night, to avoid it being a free-for-all for the Mafia. The town did the absolute dumbest thing in the book, and I'm not sure if that's just smart on the Mafia's part or stupid on the Town's.

I'm inclined to go with the latter though, because the former side had been playing sloppily enough that there shouldn't have been any way to not even lynch ONE of the fishiest players in the game.
