Ah the guilty pleasure anime. The anime shows you know you shouldn't enjoy, but you do. You keep these secret from people you know who also watch anime as you are kind of embarrassed about liking it. Here, I'd like to talk about some of my personal guilty pleasures in anime and the reasons I enjoy them. I'd also like to find out some of your guys personal guilty pleasure anime and why you watch them. Of course you might not even know why you like them, but you just do and that's cool as well.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai/Oreimo/My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute

Oh boy. Starting out with one of my biggest guilty pleasures. I kinda feel bad about liking this one. I don't like getting to much into spoilers, but simply younger sister who's a model is also into anime, and by into anime I mean she's an otaku. It's a wacky series about her and her brother trying to keep it a secret while getting her to meet more people who like anime/ are otakus. The guilt comes from... well first the title. But second is something that is known about it, but as it's a huge spoiler, I will not be going into detail.

Elfen Lied (16+)

Ummm..... this one is.... this is a hard one to explain.

O.K. So.... basically their are these girls who have powers, these powers are invisible hands that only they and others like them can see. These powers can basically rip people in half. Show is centered around one who hits her head and basically gets two personality. The guilty part and well the 16+ rating comes from the fact that... well this show has lots of blood and lots of... "Fan service". I have personally called out anime for too much fan service, but in this case it doesn't bug me as much.

Naruto

Hey hey hey, pitchforks and torches down... both sides, please. I have reasons.
Now I don't think I need to go over the plot of Naruto... But it is known for people (A) Loving it or (B) Hating it..... not me and this is where the guilt comes from
I do enjoy some parts. Hell I find the show kinda fun to watch... it does have all sorts of problems though, and it's because I can see the problems I kinda feel guilty about it. Not saying it's good and not saying it's bad... just saying I kinda like it but it's not without it's problems.

So what are some of your personal guilty pleasure's in anime?

Kaichou wa Maid-sama.... my gosh, I love that anime so much, but I tend to hide my interest in it.

It's a guilty pleasure of mine, since, I'm not known for watching any anime with a romance tag attached to them. Most tend to fall into the "harem trope," and it hurts to watch-- it really does. However, this anime played it very nicely! There was a love triangle (I think), later on, but the writers handled it with love and care. Whenever I recommend this anime to people, they give me this look that says, "This hentai, isn't it." So naturally, I keep it to myself-- well not anymore, since the people on Vizzed now know about it. Lovely.

Gonna need to re-watch it again though, 'cause it's been forever!

Despite Digimon being a kids Anime I actually love it, and have watched it twice through in the past six years, which might not be impressive, but hey I watch a lot of Anime.

I also live the Anime Bobobo-bo bo-bo-bo, it's really funny and childish, I watched it every Saturday on Toons I, it's basically a giant muscle man fighting bald people with his nose hairs, he travels with a red spike ball, and a jelly man.

Mine of course would be sailor moon! Most people would know this from me. Since I loved that anime a lot when I was like really really young. I have the seconds downloaded onto my laptop. So I tend to watch it sometimes or when I can. So then I don't ever forget about it. Its hard to get like more like to download old school animes such as sailor moon. Since it was part of the 90s and all.

So now people will find it really hard to find a website and to download all of the episodes. I just managed to do mine at a good time this was years ago not sure when but it was a really long time ago. '-'

Most of my guilty pleasure anime are the ones that are way too inappropriate for Vizzed lol. I don't really watch them hardly anymore, but it still happens from time to time. A few of these would include DxD and Seikon no Qwaser, though if you're not into nudity, then you probably don't watch to check them out. I'm not entirely sure I should even mention them by name on the site...

This month, I binge watched an anI'm called Makura no Danshi. It's a twelve episode anime, and each anime is four minutes long. The plot? Well, the anime is in a first person point of view, and each episode has a "pillow boy" who will talk to the viewer and sleep besides them.

I honestly don't know how I managed to binge watched that. It felt strange watching an anime where the characters are sweet talking to you and yet, I kept watching until the end. When I finished it, I felt that I could watch it again. I don't understand why but I slightly enjoyed it, even when I cringed over half of it. (At least some of the boys were cute though...)

Another guilty pleasure I have is Sister Princess. It's an anime about a boy who is dumped in an island where he learns he has 12 younger sisters. This anime, honestly, could have been so much better, like I have seen better, yet, I still enjoy it a lot.

Mine is Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres, Celestial Legend for you dub heathens ).
Its a story about a girl, who on her 16th birthday discovers she is a reincarnation of an angel (Ceres) that can't return to heaven without her robe which was stolen.

2nd is Azumanga Daioh.
Its a slice of life show that follows around a group of quirky high school friends and their equally strange teachers.

greatmaningrey-
Elfin Lied is such a great anime but I think its dismissed because of all the "fan service" as you put it.
It has such deep characters and is told very well.
I just wish the series was finished. The anime ending leaves a bit to be desired.
The OP/ED for Elfin Lied are really great too... its kinda sounding like this is one of my guilty pleasure animes as well.

I don't know what would count as a "Guilty Pleasure" anime for me when I tend to watch most anime series with my friends and they don't have any problems with that. However, if you're talking about a series that's bloodier than the average show and you probably wouldn't want some kids to see it without having been exposed to anime first... I would probably say Elfen Lied as well, although I personally think it's a great anime as well.
