So I saw an article about this on another website, and I thought it bore repeating. What is your favorite PS4 game so far? Maybe it's a well known title, or maybe it's one of the many great games that have slipped under the radar in favor of the more popular names.

Mine would be:
Sniper Elite III
Batman: Arkham Knight
Rayman Legends
Knack
Xeodrifter
And maybe The Golf Club Collector's Edition.

SE III is great because it's gameplay mechanics are a nice mix of more mainstream games like Assassin's Creed and Metal Gear Solid (one for the jump and general movement controls, and one for the big emphasis on stealth and remaining as "ghost" like as possible) and it's own focus on - as the name might suggest - accuracy and precision. The relocation meter which slowly fills with each shot you take dictates how close the enemy is to deducting your exact location, and if you fail to take heed to it, you're, shall we say, in deep doo doo. So landing a kill shot with each squeeze of the trigger is vital for surviving when in heavily guarded areas as it becomes difficult to relocate without being seen when you're surrounded. Take them out in as few shots as possible ODT basically. Highly addictive game for a fan of stealth games, and yes this comes from someone who is not a fan of shooters.
And if it matters this game is a Third Person Shooter, not First Person. I can't play First Person Shooters.

Arkham Knight is on there for a few reasons. First of all it was my introduction to modern gaming. Second it's undeniably an amazing game. I couldn't get enough of the main mission or even the sidequests. The story is incredible and could never be done justice by me or anyone else explaining it to you, so just do yourself a favor and - Batman fan or not - avoid reading any spoilers or watching ANY gameplay, and just buy the game already. Lol You must experience this for yourself. Also the battle mechanics are incredibly fun and make you feel like the baddest dude alive every time you wipe out an entire group of thugs or take down a squad of armed terrorists with your bare hands.
Sadly I have never gotten back around to finishing it as the Riddler nearly ruined a game that would otherwise get a 10/10 from me. Making the player beat over 200 challenges just to clear his side quest was a bad call to say the least. And yes, after you include hunting down all Riddler objects (which only count as half of a challenge) it does total over 200. :/

Rayman Legends.. Normally I would say that it's jumping the gun to list a game I have only played three or four levels on as a favorite, but this game is just great. It's child-like approach to gaming is refreshing in today's market. Plus I am a HUGE fan of platformers. I won't rave as much here because frankly I haven't gotten far enough into it to say much yet, but it's easily worth what you're going to pay for it, new or used.

Knack is a game that gets a lot of undue hate, and what bothers me more is that you'll hear people bash on it for how awful it was and then say they never even played it. Come on folks, let it die already. The game is loved more than hated by actual gamers, it's mostly "professional" reviewers that hated on it in ratings. Knack is a solid - and yes, linear - old school adventure game. It's hate all stems from the fact that it wasn't intended as a tech demo like we want from launch titles. It looks like a Pixar cartoon (which was a brilliant decision with this game) and plays very much like a PS2 adventure title would. Aside from one annoyingly difficult trophy based on luck, I have zero complaints about this one and would pit it against any game to date. If you like old school, get it. If not, it's not your thing.

Xeodrifter. This game is a blast. It reminds me of Metroid, only I never could enjoy Metroid (no offense to fans) but this one took all of the right cues and made an incredibly fun game. It's really short but worth the price tag nonetheless. After all, a short but fun game is better than a dragged out "meh" game.

Golf Club is...well, golf. I'm a golf nut, so I'm a huge fan. This one is more difficult than most golf games on console but it's also extremely realistic. It's easily one of the best ever in it's genre.

So that's my list and as an added bonus, the reasons I choose them. What are your favorites on the PS4 so far? Are there any more obscure games you enjoy as well? Let us know!

Considering the fact that it doesn't have to be exclusives, I would probably say FIFA 16. I have put a lot of time in to it, and while I can get pissed off at it, its still very good.

I've only played one PS4 game so far and it is NHL 16 with a friend of mine. We hang out and play through seasons together. We play some games and sim some games in order to get through more of the season faster.

Without a doubt it's Black Ops 3. I spent more time playing that game than all of my other PS4 games combined times 50, literally. Spent more time with this than every other CoD game combined as well, because I love it so much.

Rayman Legends
Watch Dogs
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Alien Isolation
Saints Row IV re:elected&gat out of hell
Final Fantasy X/X-2
The Witcher III: Wild Hunt
Grand Theft Auto V
Bloodborne
Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
Fallout 4
Tales of Zestiria
Shovel Knight

These are the games I've bought. Most of which I've enjoyed a lot and a lot of which I'm still in the process of playing. So far there is no competition about which is my favorite though. It's definitely Bloodborne (yes if you know me you probably saw that coming ). I've sunk over 200 hours into just the maingame alone and I'm just now getting started with the added DLC. I'm usually not a person to call a game perfect but with Bloodborne there really are no major things I could complain about. It's honestly probably my favorite game not just on the PS4 but that's come out the last few years. Everything about it. It is in my opinion the most gorgeous console game I've played period. Has some of the best sound design I've seen in any game ever where you actually have to be aware of your surroundings. Oh and the gameplay which is probably the best part of the game will keep you completely addicted despite likely ripping your hair out at how difficult it is. If you're anything like me that should be enough to get you to pick it up. As if that wasn't enough reason to pick it up it also tells a drepessing interesting tale about a world that was destroyed without actually feeling the need to shove it down your throat with tons of dialog. Lastly like any other true From Software game you'll definitely get your money's worth in terms of depth. Considering also that this is a PS4 exclusive I think any PS4 owner need to pick this game up when they get the chance.

Some honorable mentions would be:

Alien: Isolation a AAA horror game that actually knows subtlety, who would've thought those existed. I keep avoiding playing this only because of how dang terrifying it is. This is how you make a true horror game in stead of that Slender clones that just rely on cheap jump scares. To add to that not only is it scary but the gameplay and the nature of the Alien forces you to be pretty crafty when you play it so there's a lot of strategy involved in stead of the outcome just being left up to chance. The sound design is great and how well they've managed to recreate areas from the movies is pretty amazing.  If you're a fan of the Alien movies or Horror games I'd say you pretty much owe it to yourself to pick this up.

Grand Theft Auto V. Call the series overrated if you will but you can't deny the effort that goes into creating these games and I can't think of many franchises that has consistently kept up this level of quality. While the online mode leaves some to be desired the single player mode is great with tons of gameplay variety. The heists were a great addition really spicing  up the gameplay. Not to mention it has production values that's pretty much unmatched in modern gaming and a very entertaining story second only to that of San Andreas.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Not a game I've been playing a ton of since I got it just when getting a bunch of games but the care of which its world has been crafted kind of blows me away. It's easy to see why this won so many GOTY awards. Think the kind of great world building you see in Skyrim but with a great narrative to go along with that on top of it. In terms of gameplay there's a large world to explore, entertaining if a bit simplistic combat mechanics (which is really the only thing that I'm not entirely happy about) and I have so much left to experience in it. There's all kinds of side activities even a collectible card game inside the game. How often do see that kind of effort to add content in RPGs today? Take notes developers of Dragon Age: Inquisition because this is how you make a great open world RPG.

If I played platformers more, I'd probably say Rayman Legends as well. I haven't played it nearly as much as some of my other games that I got more recently but as far as modern 2D platformers go I really don't see anything that matches it. Beats any 2D Mario games out of the water BY FAR in my opinion. The art style is really charming with really great and varied gameplay and tons of levels to explore. I'm honestly surprised that there aren't more people on this board singing this game's praises.

By far, I think Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is my favorite so far.
There is just so much to do and so many ways to complete missions. Its an excellent game.

Second would probably be Bloodborne. Its not unnecessarily difficult like Dark Souls II, but is still a hard game and enjoyable.

This list goes on... there are so many great titles for PS4 already.

imamonster : So would you say that FIFA 16 is considerably better than 15 was? I plan on getting a FIFA game eventually but I usually don't buy the newest entry in a sports series unless there's good reason to pay the extra money it costs.

Zlinqx : I actually have Legend of Kay: Anniversary too. As for Rayman, it sounds like we both have the same problem (if it can be called that): so many games that we've yet to play a lot of any of them. But for what you have played of them so far, about how would you rate Tales of Zestiria and Shovel Knight with your basic 1-10 scale? I've been thinking about getting both of those for a while now, especially Tales.

Eirinn : Well, if you are a fifa or football (soccer) fan i'd say get fifa 16, but if you just want to play some career mode casually or something like that get fifa 15. It really depends on what game mode you want to play. While the gameplay is similar there are some noticeable differences in dribbling, but for you i'd probably say get fifa 15, its a lot cheaper.

Vanelan : I really do like MGS5 in terms of gameplay as well as the off the wall humor in it lol. The only thing I really didn't like and which kind of detracts from the game enough for me not to mention it is the story. Confusion of the whole timeline aside it just really was kind of underwhelming for a game that's pretty story centric. Quiet for example felt like a completely unnecessary character probably the most blatant example of a sex object character I've seen in a game in some time.

zanderlex : Yes but that's also because I've actually stuck with it. What's so good about the game that despite it being so difficult and unforgiving during some parts it still manages to keep you playing. I've started playing most games on the hardest difficulty but some times I just get to a point where I grow tired of those games. Either because I feel it's just cheap difficulty by just doing things like giving extra life to enemies or it just isn't as absorbing. In Bloodborne you know you that when you loose it's because you simply lack the skill at that point.

Eirinn : Legend of Kay: Anniversary Edition probably is the game I've enjoyed the least on the list. Not that I was expecting anything more from it since I just picked it up as a side thing while also getting Grand Theft Auto: V. I expected a retro 3d adventure platformer through and through and that's what I got. The thing that really bugs me about the game is the atrocious voice acting. Even if they did not want to redo the voice acting of the game I at least wish they'd given an option to disable it.

Also Rayman was only my second PS4 game after Watch Dogs. Reason I'm nowhere near beating it is because I get really fixated on completing everything in each level before moving on to the next one. Which leaves me kind of burned out whenever I play it because of having replayed the same level so much sometimes. That's not really the game's fault though more because of the limitations I place on myself lol. Basically why I have hard time playing platformers that revolve around collecting stuff for an extended amount of time.

Shovel Knight I only recently got. I haven't really played enough of it to say too much but if you're looking for an homage to 2d SNES style platformers that's what you'll get. It seems like it could stand alongside any one of them and it takes a lot of different concepts from old platformers. For example you can bounce with your shovel on enemies like you can in Ducktales and it has a overworld map like that of Mario. There's a pretty sizable amount of things to do too. If that sort of platformer is something you'd enjoy I would definitely recommend. I bought the digital version which was pretty cheap but a physical copy cost like 40 dollars here which I thought was a bit too expensive. For the price I got it though (equivalent of about 10-15 dollars) I'd say it's an easy 9/10 at least.

Tales of Zestiria I've played considerably more of because I'm doing a run through on the hardest difficulty trying to get all difficulty related achievements. If you like the Tales games you'll probably like it. That's why I picked it up because I wanted to get back into them. The combat mechanics is real time in stead of turn based like most JRPGs which is what I really like about it. It's probably the best in the series in that regard. Which could be enough to entice a Tales fan to pick it up. The story will probably be a preference thing. The characters are what I would call anime101 as they have "exaggerated" personalities like you'd see in many animes if that makes any sense. Overall it's a preference thing if you'll like the characters or not. If you do you'll likely enjoy the funny interactions they have which is one of the great things about the Tales series. As for the story it's not really as great of a story as many other games in the series like Tales of Vesperia with there being quite a few instances of events happening because of plot convenience. The game is one of the shorter Tales games but that's not saying too much since it is still a Tales game so you can expect a pretty long main story that should last you at least 40 hours. Longer if you take your time and do everything there is to see.

One thing that slightly bugs me is the apparent greediness of Bandai Namco. The game has some micro transactions, nothing that you need to beat the game though or even is recommended but it still somewhat irks me. Also without spoiling too much, a character you meet leaves later on in the game and to find out what happens to that character you need to buy extra DLC. Which overall seems like a real dirt movie since from what I've heard it's not a particularly long DLC considering the price 10 dollar something price tag and honestly feels like it should've been part of the base game. It's not needed to understand the main story though so you're still getting your money's worth.

I'd say if you're a fan of the series or the real time combat system sounds interesting it may be worth looking into. It depends on if you like that type of game though. I'd probably rate it 7.5-8 out of 10. Don't feel comfortable on settling with an exact score just yet. If you have the option though I'd recommend picking up Tales of Vesperia in stead since that game is regarded by many as  the best in the series. Would probably be the best starting point for someone looking to get into it to if it's your first Tales game. Should also be pretty cheap compared to Zestiria assuming you have a PS3 or Xbox 360 to play it on. So if you enjoy that you could pick up Zestiria later on.

Zlinqx : Well Legend of Kay - Anniversary isn't a masterpiece of a game, but like you said, I picked it up looking for a classic 3D platformer and it is just that, so I was really happy. I didn't like how it turned after the dragon's cave, but it was still alright. I don't regret the purchase at all.

And I don't have a PS3 yet (plan to buy one sometime this year probably), so Zestiria is the first (recent) one in the series I can get. Now if Tales of Phantasia or Tales of Symphonia(?) were part of the same series then I should be good because I loved them. The battle system is usually the weakest point in an RPG for me, but those games took action RPG and JRPG and blended them beautifully, making the battle system the biggest plus for it. I won't often pay full price for a game though simply because I can't afford to, so it'll be a while before I get that one as it's price refuses to drop. :/ Once it hits $30 or so I'll snag a copy.

Also I can get a physical copy of Shovel Knight for $19 now so after what I've heard from Jordan and now you I'll get it. I nearly bought it on sale last week because it was PS3/PS4/PS Vita cross buy, but I have a rule: never buy digital if there's a physical copy. I'm too much of a collector to do that.

Zlinqx : Quiet was an extremely important part of the story. I don't wanna give anyone spoilers, but she fills in gaps about certain things... (not very descriptive... I dunno how to say it without spoiling anything.)

So my PS4 hasn't seen a lot of use recently, so I'm gonna say Until Dawn is still my favourite PS4 game. It's really well-written, looks gorgeous and has a lot of replay value.

Zlinqx : True, games that are like that are some of the best, no matter how hard a game can be, if it's OP addicting, then it has served it's purpose, and quite nicely as well. Just look at Dark Souls, I never played it but heard it was incredibly difficult at some point yet it's apparentlly amazing.
