Protecting against rain: hood or umbrella?

I'd rather a hood because I live in da hood, yo diggidy dawg it's a heckuva lot more convenient than carrying around some big old umbrella. Even the little pocket ones feel kind of clumsy to hold for me, so I'd rather just use a hood or something. Though before I had glasses that became huge targets for rain drops I used to just do nothing since the rain feels so nice.

I'm not going to lie I rather use hood because its much more simpler. Like for when I need to go on buses and stuff like that. Do you how what a headache it is to use an umbrella? You have to shake it off before stepping in or the floor will get wet. With a hood its in and out pf places and so much easier as well. XD

I prefer neither.
An umbrella is cumbersome and requires you carry it around when there is a chance of rain.
And if we are talking about summer, definitely don't wanna be wearing a hoodie or the like. ^^;

From the two choices, hood. Carrying an umbrella is tedious, especially when I'm out and about. A hood is good enough for me to cover me from the rain. Unless it's a humid summer rain, hoodies feel really comfortable and when it's done raining you're left with a chilly covering, which I like the feeling of.

However, usually I take it like a man and just go out without either. Just me and the clothes on my back to protect me from the frequent English rains.

Umbrella. It is going to be water repellent unlike a hoodie. Now if wind is involved,then I hope I have a very sturdy umbrella,I have had to throw away 2 collapsible umbrellas because the wind caught and mangled it. And if came to defense,you could always retract your umbrella and use it to protect yourself.

I chose hood because i'm so sad to never have an umbrella with me, only a jacket without a hood. But if i have a jacket that DOES have a hood, i'll take the chance to use that one instead.

I prefer hoods too. My umbrella was tattered by violent Canadian winds. It was quite unreliable. With my hood, I'm able to get more comfort, and it is less cumbersome.

I'm feeling the umbrella. There's something atmospheric about being under an umbrella in the driving rain. There's something about parking an umbrella over a chair or on a bench and enjoying the weather from the sheltered haven you've created. An umbrella can be shared and now you have to snuggle a little closer to the girl you're walking with and there's much more close contact as you both struggle to stay dry. And if you get wet, you can laugh over the experience.

Umbrellas are fun because they create a space to experience. A hood or jacket just ensures your shirt and pants get wet when it rains and you have to deal with that the rest of afternoon. That's not fun at all. I take the umbrella.

An Umbrella is usually more effective for actually protecting against rain since when using a hoodie your clothes still get wet. I prefer a hoodie however, for one you don't have to carry it around if you're going some place since it's attached to your clothes. Also it makes sense because I'm straight from da hood

Looking past that, I'm usually the guy who does nothing because I like the feel of the rain (unless it's down right pouring). So in most case I wouldn't really be that concerned with protecting myself from rain.

I like to let the rain just hit my skin and my hair... I don't even have a coat or an umbrella because rain is just a natural part of the world... Heck it's pretty refreshing too.

Hood, I hate the thought of dropping my umbrella, plus I don't have to worry about it blowing around.
Then again an umbrella could make a good self defense tool, if Peach can use a parasol, I'm sure I could use an umbrella.

We were out shooting fireworks night before last, and when it started raining, I put on my heavy coat. It kept most of me dry, but it was raining inside my pockets and, since I was wearing shorts, my legs and feet still got wet. I don't have an umbrella,  but I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep one on me for such occasions from now on.
