Joneithevius : you think I said what I said in order to be "edgy".... oh boy. Don't take what I said as me not being concerned for Vizzed. I am concerned. I've been here for 11 years. You've been here for 6 days. Don't lecture me about not caring about the site.

Joneithevius : Let me explain this as simply as I can. 

Vizzed is essentially a piracy site where people can come to play their favourite games from the 80's to the early 2000's, It actually has no legal standing if a company who created these games wishes to have them removed. In fact as I've said Vizzed has been lucky that legal action hasn't been taken against them. 

I'll be honest I don't even know what /b/ is, So you've lost the comparison to me but I guess I'll just have to assume it's something negative. 

Regardless, It's not pessimism, it's realism. Vizzed has been through many ordeals over the 6 years I've been here, and the best thing to do in this situation is to accept what has happened, and find ways to come together as a community and work in filling the void of income this has caused. 

Complaining about how "Corrupt" Nintendo is and how the decision is wrong, DOES NOT HELP ANYONE. If anything it adds fuel to a fire which can lead to individuals drawing more attention to Vizzed, which in turn could lead to more major companies taking legal action. 

It doesn't matter to me how long you've been here, what your rank is, or how much you've posted. The sooner we accept the fact that this has happened, the faster the site will recover. 

If we were completely devoid of empathy, respect and decency, We'd leave the site.... We'd no longer try and support David, We'd just vanish and leave Vizzed, without trying to help at all. If anything all we have done is shown Respect to the situation that Vizzed is in. 

It's easy to say sorry, A very short term solution. It's harder to admit the situation and move forward. 

If that makes me seem like an edgy idiot, who seemingly cares little about the site so be it. I won't let your opinions stop me on focusing on the issue at hand, which is supporting the owner David and the site itself.

Yeah, I'm new here, sure, but I'm not dumb, and I've had a good look around the site. You know what I see just about every single time your username comes up? An eye-rolling "look at me I'm so bad because I'm rude and don't care about anyone lol" tryhard channer attitude, at one point even mocking a person who was asking for help because they felt like they were being harassed instead of talking them through it and deciding to join in on distressing them further by spamming their profile and inbox. Yeah, that's totally an attitude fitting of an admin who 'cares' about the site he 'works' on.

I judge a person by what they do, not what they claim to do, and boy, you sure do put on a really nasty example. You must be a stellar expert in whatever coding or management work you do, or have personal ties, because you certainly didn't get your position for your customer support skills.

Um... just for clarity, I think there's a misunderstanding. He's not really pro Nintendo, he's just stating that it's their legal right to do what they did, and he's not wrong. It's the same with geeogree. Legally, they're justified. And it's not like I'm on the money grubber's side, either. I've been one of the ones calling for a boycott.

Welp. Nintendo is stupid. and are greedy little monkeys who cant see beyond their own tails. so now im not so sure i want to BUY ANYTHING from them anymore.

I'm not pro-Nintendo either. I don't like what they did at all but I'm being rational in my response to what happened. Nintendo could have ruined David and Vizzed in a heartbeat but instead gave him the chance to comply and save the site. I'm grateful for that.

I wish they would have been sensible and ignored Vizzed because they aren't really losing anything because of our existence but that's not the way companies like this work. Vizzed is going to struggle for a while because of this because those games were a big draw but we'll find a way through. Vizzed has survived everything else that has been thrown its way and we can survive this too.

Alright, I have little knowledge of laws regarding such property, and it's usage, so I kinda want to ask;
Vizzed makes money by traffic, not by sale of content, right? I mean, there's the vizzed currency, but as far as I know, there's no connection to real money.
I guess it might make sense if they were losing sales, but.. I mean, are they even producing new copies of the old NES/SNES/GB/etc games anymore?

Oh, well, they are kinda reselling the old games as DLC for the new consoles, aren't they? I guess they think they'll be losing out on money. Rather, I guess they *are* losing out on some money, it just... feels kinda sucky. Nintendo's done a lot of good, if only by making amazing games (ignoring the bad ones) for as long as they've been around.

I definitely wish they'd ignored Vizzed, but I guess I understand why they did it. Oh well. Here's hoping Vizzed pulls through!

And whether Vizzed lives for the next decade or not, thanks for everything~

To be honest, I don't agree with what they did, but they were legally in the right to do so.

The biggest question I'm asking is why now? Vizzed has been hosting Nintendo games for quite a while now, and they just now noticed that it was happening? They were cracking down on rom sites before, so how did they fail to find this one up until now?

At least the rom loading function is both still decently usable and technically legal.

m0ssb3rg935 : i never said he was pro nintendo (what the heck does that even mean, its not even a real word). i only stated that his actions as a mod were questable to possibly abusive where we didn't get anything let a warning to fix it or mix my thread with another person thread so that we can talk it out with other people. he did not do that, just says "No you cant" and close the thread.

Darthdaishi : what do you mean.... are you wanting David to put the roms up for download so people can still play them privately....

in case you missed it - any game you have played is on your computer already. You already have any of the games downloaded that you have played.

Hopefully that is what you were asking about.
