Until I read up on what was going on, I never knew that something like this was at all possible, but it happened. In Colorado, a young boy is literally turning to stone.

This 10 year old kid has been facing Stiff Skin Syndrome, a disease that is so rare, it has been reported less than 50 times in history, and it actually hardens the skin. The condition is so bad that the boy can't physically walk anymore because his legs are almost fully frozen in place.

The best doctors can do is stop the spread of the disease to other parts of the body because once skin has been hardened, there's no way at all to repair it.

I feel terrible for this kid.

treos : They did already say that there's no cure or treatment at all and the only thing they can so is stop the spread but nothing else.

It sounds like fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva on steroids, except it's even rarer. I really just feel sad for the boy. I've heard of similar cases with children afflicted with fibrodysplasia ossifcans progressiva, and it's just depressing to hear about the parents trying their hardest to protect their child for as long as they can before their child discovers they have one of the most horrifying conditions currently known to mankind. Maybe there'll eventually be a treatment for diseases like this, but I just have to feel bad for the people who are afflicted with these conditions in the meantime.

Its a very rare disease very few people have it. But the origin of the name of this disease literally means turn to stone. In time the skin really hardens and it impacts the bones too. The person infected can't move his or hers arms. Medicine has been developed to slow the disease. But its a very bad and painful disease.  As a Christian prayers for this boy and his family
