Some days ago, I went to my favorite shop in the city I live in. It's a language book store. Language learning is a hobby I'm quite passionate about, and I sometimes look for ways to connect it to my personal relationships. My girlfriend is Danish, and with Swedish being a language that is very close to Danish (almost mutually intelligible with some training) I thought I'd go look for something to help me learn it as a Swedish speaker. It seemed a lot more time efficient than relying on English resources online as I do for most languages.

I'm glad I did. The book store's main focus is on French books, so as the shopkeeper guided me around, I initiated and maintained the entire conversation in French. It felt really cool even if my French isn't super advanced. I rarely actually venture out to use my language skills, since I mostly study in isolation. However I was able to understand everything that was essential and respond from time to time. Few things match that rewarding feeling.

The textbook I found teaches Danish mainly FROM Danish which is going to be super interesting. It's possible because most of the difficulty between the two languages is in the pronunciation differences. When reading the other language, much of it is intelligible as the grammar and much of the vocabulary is very similar.

I sense I'm going to have a lot fun with it once I start digging deeper. Could also be one of the few times my language learning bears some fruit professionally. Danish skills are quite convenient, since I live relatively close to the Sweden/Denmark Border.

Well so much for trying to scale back on shopping, I found myself buying more Sailor Moon utensils, there was a latte cup and a set of 5 pint glasses calling my name at game stop, this totaled over seventy bucks

and the pint glasses are problematic because I am not a heavy (alcoholic) drinker, well at least the latte glass will be good for tea or hot chocolate, oh but it's after christmas, not alot of hot chocolate drinking here

The last thing that I bought was a couple different pre paid debit cards today from Rite Aid. A big eshop sale started earlier today and there's a bunch of games that I ant to get but I want to get most of them from different countries eshops so I needed to buy different kinds of cards to use.

The last thing i bought in person was a couple of snacks for myself at my job. I work in retail and get an employees discount on them.

Went grocery shopping not more than 3 hours ago, got a whole bunch of different things. Mainly got some meat to cook some burgers tomorrow, hopefully that ends up going well.

With the current price of groceries every trip gets more stressful.

Today I bought a really cool Konosuba figure. It was kind of like a late birthday present for myself and I really like the way it looks combined with how cheap it was so I think it's one of the best figures that I've picked up so far.

Earlier today I bought some chickfila breakfast, had a nice chicken biscuit and chicken minis.

Food really is starting to get more expensive than I can afford, but I guess its just something I'll have to live with.

I was getting a couple of groceries before my shift today, I grabbed a dozen Arizona Green Teas and two packs of the new YuGiOh set Battles of Legend: Crystal Revenge. Ended up getting the value back through the secret rares but I just can't wait until I see even one piece of Exodia.

I bought a bunch of cool things when I went out today. At one store I bought a cool acrylic stand of a few Genshin Impact characters and at another store I bought a ton of really cool figures. Grabbed a few of Nier and a few of Quintessential Quintuplets and I picked up a few manga volumes as well.

I bought gas earlier today, which sounds pretty normal, but I had to go to 3 separate gas stations because the first two were out of regular. I’d get if the one near campus that’s super busy was out, but for two to be out??? I was surprised and a little pissed off.

Had to fill the tank all the way up in case this happens again.

Yesterday I went to a really cool mall in my city and bought a ton of stuff. The main reason that I went was because I had to go to Primark to buy a new hat and socks and there is a Primark near me but I figured I would go to the one in the mall so that I could also do some other shopping.

I picked out a really cool train set, a few 2023 calanders, a watch set, and a bunch of really cool figures from different anime and games.

Earlier today I got a boba tea, or I guess it wasn’t really tea but it was a strawberry creamsicle with strawberry boba balls in it.

Was pretty good, but I couldn’t drink all of it there was so much sugar.

Last thing I bought in person was some energy drinks and coffe for the next two nights at work. Gotta make the bread to buy bread. Gotta make overtime to buy eggs too (joke, the prices are yeesh)

This afternoon I went to get McDonalds for my friend, got us 4 large cokes, a mcdouble, a 6 piece mcnugget, and a mcchicken.

Only like 14 dollars.

I just did some shopping at Torrid because I had Torrid cash that was redeemed and had to be used because it was going to expire today, I bought myself a nice pair of fleece pants that I'll probably have for home use, I also bought a pair of sunglasses and a couple of facial masks because they had it there, and I bought myself some teas (tetley has the Lemon stuff I like in a pack of 40 now so that's kind of good news but now that that exists I have to buy two tins of the other two teas to even it out) and I bought a new set of whitening stuff (even though I know better now that it's just cosmetics for teeth) and I bought myself food from Wayback Burger, details later in the What was the last thing you ate thread later

Groceries, as lame as that sounds. Various food items, toothpaste, and a six-pack of toothbrushes. Total came out to just under $75 at Walmart. This is what being an adult does to you, unfortunately.

I got a jug of milk, a bag of broccoli, a bunch of arizona green teas, and a pack of yugioh cards.

just had to restock on some basic things.

Yesterday I went to pick up the Divine Edition of Fire Emblem Engage. I had most of it paid off but I still had to give Gamestop $40 when I went to pick it up. I haven't bothered opening it yet but I can't wait to crack open the art book.

Two days ago I bought some food from my local QT, which actually has a pretty nice kitchen inside.

I had a grilled cheese with chicken, bacon, and buffalo sauce. I also had a parmesan pretzel, both of which were very good.

The last thing I bought in person was a roll of stamps at the post office. I have to mail my rent check somehow...
