Last night, a man went to a Mediterranean restaurant in Columbus called Nazareth Restaurant and Deli. He pulled out a machete and started attacking people. 4 people were injured, thankfully, nobody other than the attacker was killed. Here's a link to an article describing this in more detail: http://nbc4i.com/2016/02/11/several-injured-in-stabbing-near-blendon-woods/

Up until last night, I don't think I had ever heard of someone using a machete to attack people in a public place like that. I'm just glad that none of the victims were killed by that maniac.

Not going to lie, that sounds like something straight out of a horror movie. That is horrible, why would someone do something like that. I'm starting to become terrified to leave me house. People just keep getting crazier.

Right away, this made me think of some guy I remember from California that did something like this decades ago. It's scary on so many levels, how he did it, where he did it, simply the fact that he actually wanted to do that, it's terrifying.

If I remeber correctly, I think some guy did this, but with and chainsaw and a haunted house. You are right, it is terrieifing!

Who does this guy think he is? Jason Voorhees? He's definitely not as effective as Jason, I'll tell you that.

All joking aside, I just have to ask the same question that I ask for pretty much any incident like this: Why? Why would someone do something like this? What motivates them?

There was a guy up in the northeast that was planning on doing the exact same thing to try and get into ISIS, but got caught before he could manage to get there. In the updated story, they mentioned that, four years ago, he was "expressing radical Islamic views", so it's obviously a copy-cat. Most terrorists tend to prefer a rifle though, so this guy was obviously not very bright.

EDIT: After taking 5 minutes to think on it, I realized that he was on their radar for 4 years. If that's the case, how come nothing was done to prevent this...? It's not like he managed to slip through the filter, it seems more like total neglect.

I wonder what could have caused this man to unleash such a violent attack upon innocent people in the first place.

nvm, the update I was going to share was breaking news, but now looks like it was inaccurate. On local news, they were saying that the owner was planning to close the restaurant due to the machete attack not being declared an act of terrorism, but now, it sounds like the restaurant will be open.

You've got to understand, people are crazy. What drives me crazy is that this could be anyone. This was just some random dude, anyone can go into a public setting and pull out a giant knife and injure or even kill people. This is just scary and obviously insane.
That's the problem with insane people getting weapons, why someone would do this is out of my mind. Honestly this is why I am sometimes afraid to go around in full places, because if someone randomly attacks people, it could quite honestly be you, and you may not be as lucky as to just be injured and not killed.
Hopefully I don't see anything else that happens like this where someone who is this crazed I'll just go around and kill people.

At first I thought of the movie "Machete," but then I thought about it seriously. I don't understand what twists a parson's mind into doing something like this. I mean I get the why and how of it, just not what actually makes someone tick in that way. Like bara said, the scary part about it is it could happen to you at any moment, at any given place. Yea, the odds are low, but it's hard to be prepared for something like that, even if you somehow knew it was coming. Thank goodness no one was actually killed.

Machete attacks are common they just don't get that much reported. In my area last week we had a really bad knife attack that claimed two lives. I know last year they had a really bad machete attack in China were over 40 people got killed in a school. Earlier this year there was a deadly Machete attack in Europe were people got killed. So it does happen a lot one reason it doesn't get reported is in my opinion it does not fit the media's anti gun agenda. They would rather report a shooting then a machete attack. Glad nobody was hurt
