I'm having a major issue here....

I have not been able to use my PS3 Controller with the MUPEN emulator.

I made sure it worked with other emulators, and it does work fine.  Drivers updated, everything installed, pop up's blocked... I followed all directions on the thread dealing with this issue.

Still.. I can't seem to use the PS3 controller for the MUPEN emulator. Like I said, It works fine with the SNES and other systems.. but the N64 just won't even respond.

Please help?

andrew4loans : I might be wrong, but your issue might be stemming from the fact that the MUPEN emulator does not let you configure the controls from the emulator itself.

1964 is the N64 emulator that allows you to change controls by double-clicking the game window. So you could use that emulator instead, or you could follow the steps in this thread https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=79869

to manually configure the controls for Mupen64.

I know you can't configure the controller from within the emulator, however I checked the configuration file (as detailed in the steps you gave me), and the PS3 controller is listed in there, which means the MUPEN64 is setup to recognize and be playable with the PS3 controller (I did this before starting this thread).

I don't want to change the configuration at all, I just want the controller to work with the MUPEN64 and I have not yet been able to do so.

andrew4loans : Sorry for the confusion on my end. I was just giving suggestions based on what you had said and wasn't sure what you had tried or not.

As a side note, does the controller work at all when trying to play a game using the 1964 emulator?

It's pretty common for people to have issues regarding getting a PS3/4 controller to work properly but not as common for people to have issues with it only on ONE system.

What operating system are you using?

Is the controller plugged into the computer via USB, or via wireless?

Are you using a Gamepad interface program like motion joy?

I've heard of people deleting the config file for older versions of Mupen, then re-doing the whole thing and having it suddenly work (for whatever reason) but depending on some of the information above, I don't have a lot of suggestions at the moment.

I use windows 7 professionsal

The controller is plugged in using the USB

I don't use motion joy (don't even know what the heck that is lol), I use a driver that has to be ran every time I plug in the controller to the USB, and it works fine for everything else, like I said.

I haven't deleted the config file, but I will try that when I get home (I'm at the office now.. lucky for me I'm the boss so I can't get in trouble for this lol).

I appreciate you trying... its a real friggen head scratcher... I'll try doing what you said and I'll let you know later.

So in a small update on this... I still can't figure this thing out.  I have tried other games on MUPEN64... and still I am not able to use the PS3 controller.. the keyboard does work.. so I'm thinking that for some odd reason MUPEN64 just isn't registering that I have the controller plugged in?

I am kinda surprised that it works for other emulators at all.
Windows 7 doesn't come with drivers for PS3 controllers.
