I discovered the real life equivalent of the shadow clone jutsu! This actually happened months ago, but I just remembers now.

So one evening, I went for a walk through a town. In Beaver County, there are many small town centers with shops and restaurants and stuff. So as I was walking down the street, it turned into night time and the street lights turned on. Now the light from the street lights, and the light from the stores were refracted (by my body being in the way) in such a way that there were multiple shadows of myself all around. There were several on the ground, some on the buildings right next to me, some on the buildings across the street from me, and there was a point with a gap between two buildings to the side of me. And there was a shadow of me on the wall of the building ahead across the "gap". It took me a while to realize it, but I eventually realized that this interesting shadow effect reminded me of the Shadow Clone Jutsu from Naruto. They were literally clones of my shadow. So me being the Naruto nerd that I am, crossed my hands and yelled Shadow Clone Jutsu! Just because it felt appropriate.

So now that I have discovered the very basic form of the Shadow Clone Jutsu, perhaps it is possible to use this to create real Shadow Clone illusions. Maybe just for a cinematic purpose. Just imagine some kind of technology, or more impressively a non-technological method that can take these shadows and somehow create fake projections of clones of yourself. And then the clones could perform movements, because the projection is copying what the shadows look like, which in turn is what you are doing. And if you can make the light follow you, it could make the illusion that the clones are running if you run around. They might move in opposite directions and stuff, but it would still look interesting.

What do you think? Do you think something like this could work? Are there other jutsu that can be performed by setting up a very well planned illusion? Have you experienced this shadow effect or know how to recreate it? Are there instances where you felt like you were ever performing a human-level version of a jutsu?

TheBWoods15 : On further note, I just realized that if you could make this kind of illusion, it would be the very first fully functional holographic projector.
