More and more, people I follow on Twitter post about a supposed tenant of the Koran where faithfuls are basically "allowed" to blend in with "infidels" in order to, one day, crush them. Is this thing for real? Are Muslims moving to Western countries in order to eventually crush them?

My thoughts on this -

To be honest, I think we should not accept Muslim immigration. It's just too much of a risk for me. This may sound kind of heartless, but this is what I think. I think a couple of the attackers of the Paris attack were Syrian refugees, weren't they? Who's to say the same thing won't happen to us if we let them in the US? It's too risky.

No one should be banned based on religion, color, sex, or basically any basic choice they make with their life. As long as everyone gets along with everyone I'm fine. I'm in the army and work with Muslims. Muslims that have worked hard to gain citizenship. They're nice people. The same as everyone else. But then again I am all for stopping "refugees" from areas taken over by ISIS getting into America on a free pass. Because you should stay in your land and deal with your problem. Don't run away or the problem will never go away.

Alright, please, no one get mad or anything, I understand that there is a lot of animosity towards people who support this ban, but please, hear me out. This is not exactly what most people think that it is.

For one, the ban wouldn't be permanent. It would be in effect until the threat of ISIS(Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) was eliminated. Until then, I think we can all agree that letting in people who are potentially members of this organization is a risky business, at best.

Second of all, this ban isn't based on ethnicity or sex, as I've seen, it's based on the expanse of ISIS's territory, which is why we only want to outlaw
Syrian immigration, and then for a short period of time.

Third, ISIS has openly stated that they are planning on attacking Washington, D.C, which should be a warning bell to everyone in the United States of America. And while some people may dismiss it as an announcement made on a whim that ISIS does not wish to, or simply cannot, carry out, they did it in Paris. More than a hundred people died there, and France is much more strict about terrorism than we are, as the government is too busy trying not to offend anyone based on race, and therefore ignoring obvious warning signs that have nothing to do with race.

That's why the ban should be put in place though. And honestly, we've done something similar in Europe, keeping most of them out, so I don't understand why there's so much controversy surrounding this.

Otherwise, look at Britain and France right now. (And Belgium, I think, don't quote me on them though) They've begun raiding mosques in response to the Paris attack. What did they find, you may ask?

War materials. I'm not talking civilian firearms (fun fact, those aren't a thing in much of Europe, and while gun violence has gone down, murder and crime rates have skyrocketed). I'm talking AKs, RPGs, and the like.

So just factor that in. There are definitely Muslims terrorists out there  that want to bring down our country and establish a worldwide caliphate under Shari'a Law, but there are also others who are content to follow their religion in peace.

That's my two cents.

I just don't see this as being right at all. We have terrorist right here in our own country. Which goes to show you they are everywhere. I know letting people in is a risk, but I'm going to be honest you risk your life going to the store most of the time. This is the land of freedom, and I say those who want it should be able to enjoy it. Now if you get thought going something terrorist, then you are not going to be happy. To be honest I think that should go for our own people who do it here.

Droog : This is exactly why we don't want to let in Syrians right now. It was never a ban on 'Muslim' immigration, but Syrian immigration. We're doing that because Syria is being invaded by ISIS right now, who has openly threatened to attack Washington, D.C, after having already threatened to attack, and subsequently attacked, Paris. It's a temporary ban, and will only last until we deal with ISIS.

And, just to point it out, Russia is the main contributor in taking on ISIS right now. Putin came to America and asked for our help, and we refused him.

LunarDarkness2 : Lunar, the thing is that Syrian/ Muslim terrorists are already in our country. If we ban Muslim immigration, this will anger their Muslim brothers and sisters in the US, and some of them may lash out on the US. I don't see how banning Muslims could possibly help the situation as it would just cause more hatred and anger. However, I must say one thing. Even though, I hate Donald Trump, and hope that he doesn't become president, you have to appreciate the guy as he actually tries to come up with ideas on how to battle terrorism. His efforts are great, but his ideas aren't.

Titan127 : If ISIS is already planning an attack on DC, what makes you think that they will rethink that if Muslim immigration is banned? ISIS members are already in America, so what would you do for the terrorists already in the country? This will enrage ISIS members already in the US and give them more of a reason to attack the nation's capital. I don't think there is any perfect solution to this, as it is a very sticky situation, but I certainly don't think banning Muslim immigration would do any justice.

RDay13 :

This is to prevent from more damage to possibly be done, in my opinion. I'm not 100% sure if they would strike against the US because we are not allowing others in the country. However, I think it's best that we don't let them in so we can prevent from having more of them here. Just my opinion, honestly. It may not be the right or nice thing to do, but it's what I think we should do.

RDay13 : So since there are already pocket groups of ISIS in the United States, we should do nothing to keep more of them out? I understand that you don't want to keep Muslims out without a good reason, but if we just allow ISIS to come in, then they will.

Otherwise, we've already done this in Europe, it's extremely difficult for anyone in Europe to get into America anymore. And, on the topic of Europe, have you seen what Islamic immigration has done to their countries? Because of it, Europe is being overrun, the number one crime in Argentina is now rape, Middle Eastern men are the offenders, Argentinean women the victims, and the people can do nothing about it because in the European Union, you aren't allowed to own firearms. They have to call in the equivalent of our S.W.A.T. teams to bring in those kinds of weapons.

Because of this, I think a temporary ban is perfectly justified, and, another argument is that our borders are open to those people who wish to assimilate, and become American. Many Syrians, members of ISIS, don't want to assimilate, they want to burn the United States to the ground. Therefore, this ban is perfectly justified.

Titan127 : ISIS has commited more acts of terror towards muslims than they have any other group of people. A big reason many people are even fleeing places in Syria is to get away from groups like ISIS because they're terrorizing their home countries. They just want to get away from the warfare. Sure there are ISIS sympathisers who want them to succeed but those are a small minority and are religious extremists making up far from the entirety of the muslim population which the majority of isn't even arabic to begin with. Not even all of them are muslim which makes me wonder how he'd plan to be able to tell people apart. I don't think imposing a ban is going to do much good. It's not going to keep ISIS members out of the US because there are people who become members while in the country. If anything I think a ban is only going to anger both ISIS members outside of the country as well as on the inside making them even more motivated to act. All Trump is doing is instigating islamophobia, he's essentially making people blame muslims for many of the worlds problems and some of his suggestions are almost like what Hitler did with to the jews during ww2, it's kind of ridicolous.

And as someone who lives in Sweden I can confirm that the chaos here wasn't primarily caused by Islam or muslims in general but by incompetent politicians who don't know how to properly run a country and take in way more immigrants than we can handle without doing anything to help them assimilate.

Zlinqx: As for the Europe thing, I'm pretty sure its mostly places like Germany, Argentina, and maybe France and Britain, I honestly don't know which countries are being hit hard.

As for the ban, we aren't trying to tell different Syrians apart, we're keeping them all out. For now. Relating Trump to Hitler though, is certainly a stretch, and a big one. You seem, no offense intended, to have played into the current belief that anything anyone does that could even possibly be geared towards racism is racist, which makes no sense. He isn't keeping them out for those reasons. And, once again, he isn't trying to tell between Syrians, that's exactly why we want a
temporary ban on all of them, because we can't tell if they're from ISIS or not. It was never a ban on Muslim immigration, but on Syrian immigration.

And I.S.I.S. already hates the United States, angering them is certainly not on my list of concerns. That's like saying the U.S. shouldn't be angering North Korea, or something of the like.

I only have two points to contribute here as anything else I have to say for my side of the argument has already been said. As well as the fact anything said here is probably not going to change anyone's mind. First of all, statistically, Americans kill more of each other on a daily basis than ISIS could ever hope to accomplish. Mass shootings are a daily phenomenon. Also, statistically, roughly ONE in THOUSANDS (maybe even one to tens of thousands) refugees are ISIS supporters. The needs of the many outweigh the fear of the few. If they were part of the cause, ISIS has plenty of funds to feed and shelter who they need to, hence them no longer being a refugee in the first place.
My second point, look at it from the refugee's point of view. If your home was invaded, destroyed, and now you have nothing but what you can carry. All you want, no, NEED, is somewhere to lay your head, some food to get you through the day, and not fear death every waking moment of your life. But every country or safe place you could possibly reach put soldiers and other restrictions on their borders to keep you out and blame you(the refugee) for why they keep you out. You are literally being forced to suffer twofold. Not only did ISIS destroy your entire life, but fear of them also keeps you from having anywhere to go.
In short, Immigration bans will change nothing for the better. Not considering how bad some people's lives are just because you think you are entitled to peace and security is ignorant.

Zlinqx : Thank you! I totally agree with you in the fact that banning Muslims will only lead to more anger between ISIS and everyone else. It is pretty scary to think about, but I think you are right about the Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler comparison. I just hope if Trump somehow gets elected, he doesn't make the same mistakes that Hitler made.

Titan127 : LMAO! Since when has Argentina been a part of Europe? Argentina's Muslim population isn't even that large and even if it was, I don't think ISIS would have many members there. If we are going to ban Muslims from entering the country because they have killed people, why not ban Christians from entering? Or Jews? Or Buddhists? Or Hindus? Or any religious group? You might as well ban immigration in general if you are going to ban a group of people from entering the country for something they may do, but most likely will not. After all, people move to America to escape the struggles they experience in their home nation, or to get a better life for themselves and their family. Do you want to deny entry to all of the good people who are trying to escape ISIS into America?

Mynamescox, that is because you are blinded by the media,as they only show the bad things that happen here. What about all the stories of a responsible gun owner exercising his right to defend himself, his loved ones,or his property? Or a cop stopping a would be criminal? I guess they do not count. The reason you see these things on the news is because...they bring RATINGS!

I do not think it is completely right to lock them all out,but when you consider most of the world's misdeeds today are caused by Muslims or some offshoot of them, you have to think, "How long before they do something against the world?" If anything I agree with Zlinqx that banning them outright will only spark more hatred by them. There are no easy answers to this issue. I would not be opposed to letting some in and keep constant surveillance on them. I look at it this way, when you consider most of the world's issues are with Muslims,it makes sense to keep tabs on them. Yes,it is infringement, but that is a small price to pay to prove themselves loyal.

Many races came to America and were met with far worse treatment than today. When the Irish first came to America, they were met with scorn, hatred, and outright discrimination. The term paddywagon was used because in those days a lot of paddys,or Irish were rounded up in them. They had to endure all of that to prove themselves to America. So,do not ask me to feel sorry for Muslims,if they want in,they abide by our laws and should have to endure the hatred that earlier immigrants had to face, why should they get a free pass?

Maybe have Twitter ban all Muslim accounts, that is how they are recruiting followers. I do not understand why a lot of supposedly educated people would throw their lives away for a life with terrorists. I mean your life is training, fighting, death without honor. They are disposable pawns,no benefits paid to their families.

RDay13 : It isn't the ISIS people in there, it's Muslims immigrating there.

Oh wait, not Argentina. Crap. Wrong country, dang it, what was it. Sorry, I get them mixed up...um...Austria! Sorry about that, I mean Austria. (Argentina is Hitler's cryo-sleep location though, they use Volkswagen as a money front). It isn't ISIS people going there though, it's the people running from ISIS that are causing all of the havoc.

Mynamescox44 : It's a good point, about most of them not being ISIS supporters, but the fact is that they aren't the ones causing havoc in Europe right now, it's the ones running away from ISIS. It's kind of scary, honestly, some of the stuff that's going on up there.

Titan127 : Sweden has taken in more immigrants than any other country in Europe proportionate to our total population and on top of that I live in one of the most immigrant heavy parts (estimated to be around 40% of the population most of which are Muslims) so I think I know what I'm talking about.

It is certainly not a stretch to relate him to Hitler, sure if you want you can argue that he's not racist like Hitler was though he's said enough in my opinion downright xenophobic things to where I'll contest you on that, but wanting to implement things like making all Muslims wear "badges" which is THE EXACT THING Hitler did before the outbreak of WW2,  shows that there are very clear undeniable similarities.

Even if you try to keep Syrians out of the country it's not going to keep ISIS out of the country, aside from what I already said about people already in the country, the members are not restricted to being from Syria, and I sincerely doubt you're going to be able to stop any new ISIS members from entering if they're really intent on entering considering they're pretty much willing to die for their cause anyway.

Oldschool777 : The only reason it seems like most crimes are most caused by Muslims is because there's always a focus on a person being Muslim when committing a crime whether it's religiously motivated or not. You won't really see that treatment with Christians or any other religious group in the western world for that matter. 95% of Muslims living in the western world are as law abiding as everyone else, 1% or so of your population is already muslim. if Islam is the root of these actions like this you'd likely see them on a daily basis, and I probably wouldn't even be alive to type this because the Muslim population in my city is MUCH higher. It's not though because Islam and Christianity are actually extremely similar religions, naturally from both being abrahamic, and as someone who has some experience with both the Qu'ran and the Bible a significant chunk of it is essentially just the same stories and religious figures with different names.

The reason there's so much barbarity in the middle east is because of society being undeveloped as a whole, and the rulers of the country being mostly powerless to do much about what's going on Christians living there don't really live any differently. Once society becomes more civilized, religion follows.

What you're suggesting is essentially like punishing all Christians for the actions of the westboro baptist church or KKK. Even if you look past how many human rights your breaking and how it would go against your own constitution it's not like you cannot just temporarily suppress an entire religion that also happens to be the 2nd largest religion in the entire world, it does not work like that. Indonesia the country with the largest Muslim population has essentially had war declared on it and its people by ISIS for "not being real Muslims", they're religious extremists. Furthermore it's not like there would be any feasible way to actually ban Muslims from any service like twitter, facebook etc which are worldwide services not just exclusive to the US, even if they implemented a policy like that, they'd simply find other ways and you're not going to just be able to ban muslims from the internet.

Zlinqx : Hold up there. Hoooold up. He never said he wanted to make them wear badges. He said he would consider making a database of Muslim-Americans. Websites certainly relate that to wearing stars, but that is in no way similar. Those stars denoted a lower ranking in society as a whole. This would simply make us aware of them, that's all. You know where most terrorist acts such as shootings (I'm not talking about cities such as Chicago, where they just shoot each other), Muslim Terrorists. I'd say radical Islamics, but the ones who commit terrorist acts are, in fact, terrorists.

http://www.wnd.com/2015/09/hungary-closes-train-route-to-muslim-refugees/

Read that. Germany, at least, this is absolute chaos.

Or this, for that matter. http://fellowshipoftheminds.com/2015/11/11/letter-from-Germany-Europe-is-in-chaos/

I honestly can't argue for Sweden, I'm sorry, I know nothing about the situation in your country at the moment.

Oldschool777 : You do realize more people are killed by far in mass shootings than people using a gun to defend themselves. It's also a confirmed statistic that in the case of a break in, more gun owners get shot by THEIR OWN WEAPON than anything else. How about all the stories, one of which happened nearby not too long ago, of someone shooting a loved one by accident thinking someone was breaking in. Personally, I find it just as easy to kill someone breaking in with a bat or large blade but maybe that's just because I'm not a p***y who needs a gun to hide behind when s**t hits the fan. In my opinion things would be a lot better off without most of the guns in the world. But guns have nothing to do with this thread or my original point. And when did the discussion of police stopping criminals come in to play? But for the sake of discussion, I was an addict for the past 8 years until I went to rehab, and I managed to smuggle drugs by the police so easily it's scary. And I mean large amounts, so it would've been just as easy for me to get guns around being stopped or pulled over, if not easier considering they don't smell. The police in other counties even knew me by name because of my reputation and still couldn't find it when they knew it was there. The news has nothing to do with my opinions, it's purely statistical. You're missing the point here, people are going to die everyday no matter what we do, so why make so many more people suffer just because you're on the side with power. I think you're opinion would be very different if you were the one in a refugee camp, but since you've got it made and it's not your life in turmoil, it's easy to say "Oh well, sucks for them".  I think you're a lot more blinded by the media to honestly believe "most of the world's crimes / problems stem from Muslims." Not to mention you're reply to me had nothing to do with the original point of the thread, only a side note I made about what is killing more people in the here and now.

I know it would not be possible to ban an entire religion for practicing what they believe. I know most of them are law biding people, they have no interest in Jihad,Al Queda,ISIS,or whatever they want to call themselves. But at the same time when you have numerous hate fueled shootings which they are the prime suspects, one must consider this. I personally think religion is the root of evil. The message was twisted and polluted to serve some sick person's needs. I know that has been done for thousands of years, but that really does not excuse the stupidity. Even the dumbest of them must ask themselves,"Is this really worth dying for? Hunted like a rabid animal and dying with no honor?"
Like I said, there is no easy  answer.
