Someone explain to me a few things.

1) What is Sanders plan to reduce the national debt? If he's not, why is he considered sane?

2) How can anyone think major business tax increases will stimulate the economy?

3) What's his plan for Afghanistan?

1. Bernie plans to close loopholes in the tax system and implement a series of taxes on Wall Street over the next ten years to provide free college and a single-payer health care. He also plans to increase minimum wage so more people have more money.

More people with more money means a healthier America and college available for everyone means that students won't be burdened with ten thousand dollars worth of debt to they can contribute to the economy when they're done with college instead of working for ten years to pay off these loans.

Higher minimum wage catches up with what the actual minimum wage level should be and provides more people with more money without damaging the economy.

2. Back in the 1950's, the taxes on big business was up to ninety percent and the economy was booming. Taxes on big business is at an all time low so raising these taxes would just bring it into level with how taxes were a couple decades ago. Bernie isn't wanting to raise those taxes to ninety percent, although he could and the economy would be better than it was in the 50's, but he wants to bring it into line with tax levels from a few decades ago.

Big businesses are pay almost no taxes at all and in many cases those businesses are getting money back from the government.

3. You ask some very basic question and these answers can be found on his website.

Also I do not like you calling him a maniac. I don't see you referring to anyone else in this presidential race as this and it takes from the seriousness of the discussion. You could have called him many other things that don't have the negative connotations attached.

In reverse order...

If I called him a lunatic, I called all politicians lunatics.

This is the better link. But basically he is in favor of withdrawal. I can't support this either. Shortly after American withdrawal of Iraq, the power vacuum gave birth to ISIS. I don't think we should pull out of Afghanistan for the next 60 years. It's expensive, but only due to really horrible contracts. The contracts should be fixed, and the problem is solved.

Big business was taxed very high, but there were also a lot of write-offs. I'd much rather simplify the tax code and kill the loop holes. While this generally is Sander's plan, I don't want to reduce US business. If you ultimately make them pay more, they will either leave or cut back. This is horribly damaging for the worker. We know they hide money in off-shore accounts, and I'd rather just tax it. Who cares if it's not in an American bank? We know it's there, and we know it should be ours. I would rather not even play their game. I am also fine with increasing income tax more on the higher brackets, but I also don't like that some people pay 0% taxes. Everyone should pay taxes, even in a progressive tax system. Hurting businesses will hurt the worker.

How will a college education help someone when there aren't enough jobs as it is? It'll be just like me, masters in Philosophy and bartends. But also, in order to pay for college for everyone, you're going to have to tax higher. So they do pay for it, just not directly.

1. the president can not close loopholes, thats congress job. the congress makes the spending bill and the president signs on it to be inforce, if the president doesn't sign it there could be a government shut-down. people who are part time/not needed in the government (the gardener, the janitor, etc) are layoff unpaid until the president signs it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_federal_government_shutdown_of_2013

"During the shutdown, approximately 800,000 federal employees were indefinitely furloughed, and another 1.3 million were required to report to work without known payment dates. Only those government services deemed "excepted" under the Antideficiency Act were continued; and only those employees deemed "excepted" continued to report to work."

risking a shutdown puts people's lives on the line:

President Barack Obama said he would not cave in to "ideological" demands.[190] "A shutdown", he stated, "will have a very real economic impact on real people, right away"

so no, the president does not have power to close loopholes nor can the president risk a government shutdown.

2. obamacare (forget the long name no one has time for that), has made healthier America a joke. people have lost coverage, force to sign-up or pay the fees, lose their doctors, ya know what i found this video it explains it perfectly.

https://youtu.be/JZkk6ueZt-U

3. again i told you that college is not part of the government, they do get money from them but the government doesn't enforce laws on them. this is why college scams are at at all time high, the most popular scam is gaming design. the truth about game design is that you dont need to collage to build a game, learning one skill and building profile is greater than a college degree in game design. another major disadvantage about going to college is experienced VS inexperienced. college does not grant you a job, nor does it help to get a job, this video explains what we face today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFzUbgpWNf8

4. 1950 is not a perfect example, there were people cheating on tax (no one had high tech and fake names were common), and Hauser's law was made. read and you understand:

Txgangsta : 1. No, big businesses DO NOT PAY MAJOR TAXES. I've all ready given links disproving this in other threads and I'm getting super tired of you ignoring what I post. The 0.01% pay less taxes than the rest of us.

2. Having paid college available goes hand in hand with raising the minimum wage. When more Americans get paid more money, it creates more jobs because more money is going into the economy and when more jobs are created then more jobs open up higher in the job pyramid and more people can get degrees and find jobs in their field.

All of this is intertwined and if you cannot understand this then I will have to stop posting about it. I'm working two jobs for an average of nine hours a day and take what little personal time I have to comment on here. I do not need to keep repeating the same posts and giving the same links if you're going to completely ignore them.

NameEntry :  you can not force companies to hire more people, collage has limited classrooms size, and the president can not make laws or control the economic.

reading a bunch of articles does not always tell you the truth behind the real working american. if you want to force people into doing stuff that will be the same as Donald Trump speech about forcing people to leave the country. if america moves into president having power in economics and laws then america will be no different than china.

face reality, you can not force anyone to do stuff because its never going to happen in usa.

Bernie Sanders is just the Donald Trump of the Democrats, i.e. a highly demagogue person who does NOT care about reality. It has been calculated that all the "free" stuff he promises would cost $18T, the actualy amount of the national debt. And to pay for it, he believes that taxing "the rich" - the richest 1% pays nearly 37% of all income tax, by the way - will be enough. He seems to forget that a tax, whatever it is, discourages the usage of whatever it is on. Laffer's Curve is very real, and the Obama administration has shown it over and over again by demonizing tax "inverters" who are simple doing a very legitimate thing: keeping one's fruit of one's labor.

Believing that increasing the minimum wage and having "free" college will help the economy is like believing we can go against the laws of gravity. The former will have the lower-skilled workers replaced by robots - as is already happening - while the latter will make college degrees completely worthless. It will create an even larger surplus of college majors whose only option will be to work at McDonald's... if robot shave not take over yet.

As for the people repeating the 1950s fallacy: do not forget that the rest of the world was basically in ruins. Other than the U.S. there was simply no industrial power that could rival America. So despite VERY high taxation there was simply nowhere else to produce.

janus : Do research before you make such claims.Bernie's plan would actually save trillions:

Also that is why it would be wise to cut spending on the millitary, which is bigger than the next 10 countries combined:

How?He suggests these things because it worked in places that did just that.
Denmark has a higher minimum wage & is seen as the best for business:

Nonsense, high school diplomas are free, yet are not worthless,as there are people not willing to hire unless you have the required education.

Supermatt6534 : Common sense tells me that it will NOT be efficient. A country can not tax its way into prosperity nor can it stay afloat by drowning itself into debt. Austrian economics also tells us that incentives matter; if something is "free" people will consume more of it, therefore making the costs skyrocket.

The only thing Sanders would be able to achieve is to wreck the US economy once and for all.

And OF COURSE defense spending needs to be cut. A military is for self-defense, not attack. Close all foreign military bases.

As for Denmark: what is youth participation rate? How high are business taxes? How well-off are people?

And yes high school diplomas are worthless; they mere show that one is capable of remembering enough to pass standardized tests. Schools, beyond basic writing and counting, teach very little skills that are useful to EVERYONE.

I mean, honestly, with Bernie, my things are...

90% income tax!? Are you insane!? Let me explain something about Socialism. My uncle explained it this way when I was younger, and in essence, it makes sense.

So there are four people, okay? Bear with me, it will all come together eventually. These four people all work as shepherds, and herd sheep for a living. These people are you, and your neighbors' names are Caesar, Vercing, and Boaratheus.

Now, you work very hard to maintain your land so that your sheep can feed on it, and so do Caesar and Vercing. On the other hand, Boaratheus just assumes that his land will keep itself going, and when he runs out of grass, he thinks he can feed off everyone else's. Three people should have enough for one more, right?

Well, some people's sheep start to lose health, but at first, there isn't too much of a difference, because everyone else is working. But when Vercing sees that Boaratheus can get away with it, he starts to do it to. Now, there isn't enough grass or land, and sheep start dying, but you can't boot them off your property. Caesar soon joins in, and within a few months nobody has any more sheep.

There is nothing wrong with health care, but we don't need more than fifty percent of the United State's population to be on it, and it should not be extremely extensive, either.

Honestly, we have to much taxing the rich as is, my dad isn't rich, but his work from January to April is all paying his taxes to the government.

That's all I got folks, carry on!

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
