Hi. I was using the search bar to look for a random game to play, and I decided that I wanted to play a really difficult game. It was then that I found out that I cannot sort games by difficulty. I think this would be a useful feature. What do you guys think about it?

That would rarely work because how would you even officially find the difficulty of a game? You do that for reviews, but that's the average of whoever rates ot, so if a game is a 7 dificulty, that could range from 4 to 9, so if you see a game that it says it's difficult, it could be really easy.


Plus to do something even like that, somebody would literally have to go and write a review of every single game that the site has.

I'm not sure where that would be stored but I think it could be incorporated. It would be completely user driven as to how difficult people thought the game was but if you had enough people review games then you would begin to compile a fairly accurate assessment of the difficulty of the games.

I'm not sure how this type of thing would work, as how difficult a game is usually is subjective from one person to another.

I suppose that David could come up with a search filter regarding difficulty ratings, but the problem is that a lot of games on this site have not been reviewed. Seems that people keep wanting to review the most popular games all the time.

I like the idea but for this particular site right now, that would be pretty difficult. I actually thought of this before way back when I wasn't on the board but playing. I decided, after some thought, that it wasn't worth asking. As Geeogree mentioned I think the best way to rate games difficulties right now would be through professional criticism of said games and transferring it over to our system. Currently, though, this is something a user can do on their own. Find an interesting game and googling it (that's what I usually do).

However, having a dual difficulty filter that took in account both user reviews and professional ratings (and give the user an option of one or the other) would be pretty nifty.

Secondly is having to rate all of the games. There are millions of games on vizzed and it would take forever for us to rate them all, most of which would fall on the staff, which there aren't too many of.

There typically isn't that big of a difference in opinion in the reviews as to how difficult a game is.

I love the idea and would love to see it added but I'm sort of torn because not all of the games are rated, so it would most likely break the system. Unless they were able to make the games with no ratings not to show up when you sort by difficulty, of course.

What if the games were grouped into general categories? What if the categories were Easy, Medium, Hard, and then an Unrated category? Would that be possible?
