This is a surprise feature I've been working on for the past few weeks that I've only told a few users about and it's already mostly finished! Vizzed finally has video game music!

For the time being there's only Super Nintendo songs but I do plan to continue adding more systems over the course of a few months and I may even open up a staff application asking for users to help out.

If you want to view a soundtrack for a single game, every game that has a soundtrack available will have a link to the soundtrack from its game page in both the RGR and VGR.

Here are some features that I've added so far:
-Ability to rate songs (earn 50 Viz & 0.5 CP per a song)
-Ability to create playlists (250-500 Viz & 2.5 CP - 5 when rated)
-Ability to rate playlists (earn 100 Viz & 1 CP)
-Plenty of stats
-Lots of search and filter features
-Ability to playlist page look from 'Edit Page' link (this is in beta so be careful)
-Player itself has lots of features like shuffle, loop, search within, etc
-The feature works great on mobile devices like tablets and cell phones

Features I plan to add in the near future:
-More searching and navigation features
-Ability to delete playlists and songs from playlists
-Ability to see what songs you rated
-Ability to comment on songs
-Playlist editing features including:
--Ability to manually sort the songs
--Ability to have songs ordered based on name, rating, length, etc
--Ability to change how the music player functions and looks on your playlist page
--Ability to rename your playlist



Earn up to 50,000 Viz
I need as many good songs rated as possible so that users can find highly rated songs making it easier to find great songs. I'm willing to pay out lots of Viz to users who rate songs that they like. You can either go through random songs seeing what you like, look up songs that you know you like or do research on the internet to find highly rated songs and then find those songs in this feature and rate them. However you go about this, DO NOT RATE RANDOM SONGS without knowing what they sound like. The last thing I want is for users to go through and mess up the rating system by just picking random songs and giving them a random rating. Only songs that you rate a 4 or 5 will count. I will be looking through the songs you all rate to make sure you didn't pick random songs!

Here's how much Viz I'll give you guys based on how many songs you rate:
+25 Songs = 5,000 Viz
+50 Songs = 15,000 Viz
+100 Songs = 50,000 Viz

Once you've rated enough songs to qualify you for Viz, be sure to let me know in this thread and I'll send you the Viz. Keep in mind that you'll also be automatically earning CP and Viz when you rate these songs so you'll be getting my bonus Viz on top of the regular Viz.

Also, the interface right now is terribly laggy/freezing. Took a few reloads to even see anything on the page (though the music still worked). Trying to navigate the player also leads to some lag-like issues.

Wow this is amazing! I'll be sure to take the time when I can I love how the playlist has been made. It really looks professional in a way. I'm sure other members will like this as well.

I like this new feature. I think I am going to create my list soon. I hope I can find something nice when I feel like to post a lot on the Board.

The current songs available is limited or the search system doesn't work right. I also find rating songs a bit difficult. You get redirected to a new page to rate them and the next track page doesn't work. But yeah, David is still working on this.Take your time with finishing this great feature!

This is by far the best new feature of 2015. I'll be able to stay on vizzed now to listen to great retro music instead of getting on youtube and have to deal with ads. There are a few problems I'm currently having however. First, every time I go to rate a song, the page that pops up won't load for some reason, I keep getting "504 Gateway Time-out. All the other pages on Vizzed are working fine for me, just not the rating page. Until this gets fixed, I won't be able to rate any music.

EDIT: that problem is only occuring when I click on "Rate". When I click on "add", it works fine.

Another thing, all of Final Fantasy V's music is listed as "Final Fantasy III". I noticed this when I went to add The Decisive Battle from Final Fantasy V to my playlist. Also, Final Fantasy VI (or III in US)'s music is listed under "Final Fantasy IV". Those are the only problems I've encountered so far that aren't on the thread. If I find anymore, I'll be sure to let you know.

Davideo7 : So this is what you showed me yesterday, can't wait for when you or whoever is doing it adds more music.

I have taken sometime to look and listen and frankly I love it. Its as gamer said its much more easier so then you wouldn't have to deal with youtube ads or other problems that would arise. This would be something everyone on the board will come to love and like.

I often listen to video game music so this is great news.
I'm already listening to Rainbow Road from Super Mario Kart over and over.
I look forward to seeing updates to this newly added feature in the future.

Davideo7 : Man, this is an awesome feature. I rated about 110-120 song, not sure, I lost count a couple of times, and made a 25 song playlist. It was pretty easy, as the SNES has some of the best music on any game system. Also in Mega Man 7, is the song titled "Unused song" real? Cause it is one of the best, if not, the best Mega Man song I've ever heard. Right up there with Wily Castle from Mega Man 2. As awesome as this new feature is, it does need some work, the interface can be a bit confusing, and the time (bar thingy) doesn't always show the correct time, but I don't care, as it is a new feature. I love this, and I'm gonna make more playlists. Thanks David.

EDIT: I saw the option to see the songs I have rated and it was 133. This number will just keep going up.

Great job on the new soundtrack feature. I love music in general and VG music is no exception.
As I'm checking this out, I notice a lot of music from Final Fantasy V is appearing under the title "Final Fantasy III." Also, the Final Fantasy III/VI music is under the title of "Final Fantasy IV." Sorry if that comes off as nitpicking. It's the only error I found thus far and deserves to be pointed out.
In any case, thanks again and keep up the good work. Can't wait to make my own playlist and explore the OST of other games and systems!

I've rated 100 songs with a 4 or 5 rating.

I found out about this around 2 days ago, and I gotta say, it looks pretty amazing. I've already added some songs to one of my playlists, and I'm constantly growing my list. I've also rated several songs, although I don't think it's enough for that Viz prize you mentioned. If you do decide to open staff applications for the music, I'd be happy to help. As you saw through Steam, I'm a huge video game music fan. I still have folders filled with different .mp3's of video game music, sorted accordingly. Is this music player going to be just for retro music, or will there be music from newer games as well?

I've added the ability to see songs that you've rated. The 'Your Rated Songs' link can be found in the playlist section and it'll not only show all songs you've rated but also show the rating you gave it. You can see songs that others rated by replacing the user id in the URL with the user id of someone else (I'll eventually make it easier to view the rated songs of others).


Vanelan : We currently have 21,000 songs and by the time I'm done with Super Nintendo, it'll probably be around 25,000 songs (still got some more SNES games to add). After SNES I think I'll focus on the PlayStation but we'll see.

I have finally rated 26 songs in the Video Game Music section. You can the send the Viz whenever time cooperates with you and your schedule.

First off, thanks for the music! It was pretty easy to transfer over to your system since I listen to gamer music anyway, and SNES and Game boy are some of my favorites.

Just one issue I've come across:
I'll rate some music and I won't get anything for it (Viz or CP) not sure if it's a bug or not since I've been binge listening and rating, and have been rating quite a few of songs with less then a minute's worth of music.

UPDATE: Seems to be not wanting to give me any Viz or CP after my 16th rating.

This is a really cool feature. I knew you had been working on this for awhile, but glad to see your hard work come online. The player is pretty slick as well.

I'm going to look forward listening and rating the songs as they are added.

So about 12,480 seconds  or 14.44% of the day dedicated to listening to gaming music! Not a bad way to spend the time either I might add. I enjoyed this little challenge!

On my last post, I completely forgot the fact that the songs I rated had to be rated 4 or 5 to count. So, this time, I made sure, and I have 27 songs rated 4 or 5. I'm going to try and hit the 50 mark later :p

just rated 100 songs, only took about an hour and a half lol. I forgot how great Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy's soundtracks are, makes me want to go and replay the series. Would be great if we could get the GBA soundtracks next. I would love to hear the fire emblem sound tracks again I never did unlock them all in game.

Davideo7 : I went ahead and rated 100 songs. As far as the other Final Fantasy's go, they're listed correctly, it's just the ones I listed on the previous page that need to be fixed.

Another thing, I haven't received any CP for my boss theme playlist being rated. After looking at the my playlist rating yesterday and today, I know there's been at least a few 5's and 4's I've received, but I haven't got CP for them. Not sure if this has happened on your end or not with your Christmas playlist, but it hasn't worked for me so far.

Is this going to have just retro game music, or is it going to include more modern tracks as well?
Also, I've rated 101 songs, there are tons of good tracks on SNES alone.

Davideo7 : I rated around 150 tracks, 100 or so over 4. Also, the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past songs don't seem to be working. It gives an error of "source not found" then the name of the mp3 the song is coming from.

I ran into this about 10 times when listening to music. 3 times was because of a faulty Internet connection but the other 7 I'm completely dark on. If it will help, I'll start keeping a list of songs that come up a this.

A few new features and updates:
-Ability to Delete a Playlist
-Ability to Remove Songs from a Playlist
-You can now scroll from page to page on the default song list on the index
-The 1st selected song on the index is now randomly selected
-'Top Rated Playlists' and 'Latest Playlists' now show 15 instead of 10
-I've doubled the daily limit on how much Viz and CP you can earn per a day from rating songs
-I've lowered the Viz payout from 50 to 30 Viz and CP payout from 0.5 to 0.3 from rating songs
-I've removed the 'Top Rated Songs' section and added 'Latest Games' which lists the latest games to have songs added to them
-I added a 'What's Being Listened to Right Now' section to the music index page that shows all the users listening to music and page they're listening to (right now it just shows URLs but I'll eventually make it display playlist/song name)
-Search features have been pushed down below the song player which pushes the ad higher up on the page (increases revenue) and also gives me more room to add more search features in the future

Davideo7 : Yeah, the Final Fantasy issue's fixed now. Since you changed VI from III to VI, I'd suggest changing the Final Fantasy music currently listed as II to IV, since that would make more sense since VI is now VI. I don't see anything else, but if I do, I'll be sure to let you know.

Davideo7 : Yeah, it must've been the connection. Our wireless has been acting up recently. Works perfectly now that I'm hard-wired. Also, just remembered that the SNES does host a Fire Emblem game. Those 100 ratings now seem in reach.

Hey guys! Hello Davideo7!

   I am new around here, first thing I found when joining was this here music player... xD

For the first little while I was earning my points as per norm when rating songs. It has now gotten to a point where I am earning 0 cp and 0 Viz. Is there something that I am missing? Did I hit a limit? Other than that, great idea with the music player ( I haven't listened to these mega man songs in so long!!!) and even better job with the website! I can't wait to become a more active and trusted user in the community! Now... back to that Christmas Craze speed run... xD

Edit: Just saw the post about daily limits. I am guessing that is the reason for the sudden halt in gains!
P.S. Almost@100!!!

Alright, some of those are rated as 3, but even with them in the list I have finally surpassed 100 songs with rating of 4 or 5! Also put some Kirby and Mario in there, but you may be happy to hear that every single Fire Emblem song for the SNES now has a rating!

Davideo7 : I rated a lot of songs im not sure how to tell how much but i feel confident it was like a 100  songs i love the feature especially hearing all those final fantasy songs even though i never played most of the final fantasies but final fantasy never disappoints in most of there songs no matter the game apparently and also considering i never played the NES since i played Sega Genesis and N64 as a kid all that could influence my rating are the sounds not so much nostalgia so games like Treasure Hunter G and Kirby etc have some really good songs that i could only imagine how the actual games played once again great idea and great song lists

I rated over 100 songs and made an RPG OST playlist for you guys to check out( https://www.vizzed.com/videogames/music.php?playlist=50#player1?catid=0&trackid=0 ). I recommend setting the playlist to random instead of the normal order, since I added songs to It game by game. I can't wait for more platforms to be added, my favorite RPGs are on the PS1. Also, It seems like all of the Dragon Quest V and VI songs are corrupt.


Edit: Never mind, It's just the English translation version of the games that have corrupt songs.

Edit 2: I can't seem to find Tales Of Phantasia on the music player. Will the soundtrack for this be added later on?

A problem that I'm having with Firefox is that when I hover over the Rate|Add it's one option which only takes me to a page to rate it (the Add isn't anywhere).

I now rated 139 songs. Of these, with 27th 5. counted. 76 counted. 4, so that the 103 has with a rating with a. 4

I just fixed all of the songs that didn't work which was all game's that had a comma in their name. It was probably around 50-100 games and included games like 7th Saga, Legend of Zelda, Flintstones a few Batman games and pretty much any game that normally starts with "The".

All future songs that get added will now show bitrate info. I figured this would be useful information since that basically shows the quality of a song. I'll go back and get that info added for all songs already added but you can see it with a song I recently added here:

I just uploaded 2 soundtracks for Sega Saturn games using a script that I put together which will allow staff members to upload songs. The script will be incredibly easy to use, basically all you have to do is find a game you want to upload music for, click to upload and select all of the songs you want to upload, click a link once all the songs have been uploaded and that's it. I'll post more about it once it's gone live for staff members.

The 2 Sega Saturn soundtracks I uploaded were NiGHTS into Dreams... and Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams.... The Christmas NiGHTS soundtrack I actually ripped myself from my physical copy of the game (couldn't find it on the internet) and half of the songs from NiGHTS I ripped as well since the collection I did have on my computer was missing some songs (some old CD games allowed you to rip the soundtracks). I uploaded these 2 for various testing purposes but eventually I'll work on uploading tons of songs for various popular retro games once I'm finished with SNES (there are still some soundtracks I need to get added).

I actually have like 150 GB worth of torrents that I set to download and they're about 2/3 complete. I also have 100 GB worth of songs (total of around 23,000 songs) that I had downloaded a few years ago. I'll probably begin uploading popular songs from these collections over the next few weeks and if anyone has any special requests of soundtracks they'd like me to add sooner, feel free to make the request. I also have a big collection of games as some of you know so I can manually rip some soundtracks for games that can't be found on the internet (like the Christmas NiGHTS example above).

The page is also more mobile friendly. It was already mobile friend before but I've optimized it so that it works even better on mobile devices.


Unwashed Towel : Sorry for the delay. You can only get a certain amount of CP and Viz for rating songs each day. This is to help prevent potential abuse. I think the limit for someone of your powerlevel is 13 and that limit goes up as your user rank goes up.

Pattywacks : I'll eventually make it so you can choose the order of songs in your playlist. For now you can always click the 'shuffle' button when listening to your playlist so that it randomly picks a song from it.

tRIUNE : You have to make sure to create a playlist first but once you have, the option should be in the 'Song Information and Actions' section. You'd simply click the playlist you want to add the song to.

The HTML5 song player is actually a script I purchased to use for the site and I'm only able to customize it so much. It only allows me to add 1 clickable link on a track which kinda sucks and that explains why I titled the link "Rate|Add" since that link takes you to a page where you can do both actions.

I've rated 50 songs with mostly 4's being my common factor, because they're generally good to listen to.

And I've rated songs that I think are really good 5.

I've picked a variety of games, so it shouldn't be too cluttered up.


A lot of songs I've picked I've either just got through listening to them via on the site, or some of them I listened via Youtube or playing the game.

Could it be possible not to have the song autoplay as soon as the page loads?
-Could it also be possible if we could actually just remain on 1 tab while rating and adding songs? This was rather annoying to deal with and caused me some lag. You can close them down all you want, it's just consistenly popping up mutiple tabs when it's not needed.

Davideo7 : I have rated 106 songs I have also noticed that the entire game of Zelda for SNES is not working, I am not sure if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but just in case no one has I would just like to point that out for further references. Besides that wonderful addition to this site. Love to hear some of my favorite songs while I grew up.

I was just if Tales of Phantasia's Sound track would be available soon as that was one of my favourite Snes games and I loved it's soundtrack. Also I have enjoyed this new feature so much thanks for it. It's much easier to find all my favourite game songs now my childhood is back! 

Davideo7 : Wow, just rated my first 100 songs! Such a great feature, thanks a lot for adding it! It makes you revisit the soundtrack from a different angle when you hear it separately from in-game experience. Some of these tunes should have been hits! Can't wait for you to add the option for other systems (especially Genesis games, some really strong music there). Keep up the great work!

I've rated just over 50 songs, all but one being a 4 or a 5 (If a song is "meh", I usually just leave it alone rather than specifically rating it a 3/2).

This is a really awesome feature! I really appreciate the effort you've put into getting this to work. And SNES was a good console to start with, in my opinion. If there was a single game OST I had to request, it would definitely be Super Castlevania IV. There's some really weird, obscure games that are in there that I was happy to see, and some I had never heard before that I was really happy to hear for the first time. But there's also some weird omissions, that being the biggest one for me.

Still, thanks again for this feature, it's brilliant. I'm really looking forward to other consoles being added in the future; there's some great songs on the NES, Genesis, and Game Boy, for instance. Good luck!

Now this is one feature that I was NEVER expecting to come to Vizzed. Needless to say, it was a pleasant surprise.

Of course, there are still improvements to be made. My most wanted request is an easy way to see a list of all soundtracks that are currently available. What I mean is that in order to find out which game's soundtrack you want to listen to, you first have to find the game and then check to see if it has a soundtrack or not. Right now, this is relatively simply, since it's most SNES soundtracks right now, but this could be a problem in the future.

But that's if you're looking for something specific. If you wish to simply see a list of, say, all SNES soundtracks and want to pick out which soundtrack you want to listen to, there's no way to do that. Unless I'm missing something, then my best bet is to go to the Game Room, pick out "SNES", and search for which game's soundtrack I want to listen to. It works, but it's more tedious than it needs to be.

I have rated 100+ songs. This was an awesome feature to add, can't wait for more music.

I just added 5,500+ SNES songs over the past few days. There are still some obscure Japanese games that I still need to get songs added to but I'm done with SNES for the time being and will begin focusing on other systems now.

I just added a drop down menu for each system that has song which lets you view and select any game that has music available and takes you straight to the soundtrack of that game. This only appears on the main page of the Video Game Music feature.

Davideo7 :   Just rated my 100th Video Game Music Track!  I don't think your drop down menu works ,every time i go into it ,it would not take me there!  You should add the ability to comment on other vizzed users playlists and song choices!

I just added 2 more features for users with playlists.

You can now choose the default order that your songs are arranged in. Options include by Name, Date Added, Rating, Duration and Artist Name. You can also choose whether those are in reverse order or not. I'll eventually make it so that you can manually organize the songs in your playlist.

I've also made it so that you can remove songs from your playlist from your playlist page. Before you had to actually go to the song's page to remove a song from a playlist.

I also fixed the playlist info which displays duration and song count. Before these numbers were completely off but now it accurately shows how many minutes long the playlist is and how many songs it contains.
