So guys if you had the power to remake a certain final fantasy game what would it be? This excludes final fantasy 7 out from this. For me...it would be 9. I simply love the game I wouldn't say it needs remaking. But if I had the power I would still add things from the original but make also some things different in the game to make it more unique in a way. What's yours?

Probably FF VI, it's truly a masterpiece and people kinda overlook most final fantasy games that weren't PSX (7-9, with 6 while being on PSX it isn't the same or near the same caliber of graphics as 7-9) and FF VI has what makes final fantasy final fantasy.

I would say 12. I absolutely hated the combat system, and some of the character's stories were just meh. When it was being previewed, it looked so grand in scale and unique. I was so let down when I actually played it. I don't think I ever made it past the first real boss, as I rage quit over hating the battle system and how most of everything worked. 

FF12 lovers, feel free to send the hate my way if you must lol.

Mynamescox44 : I never saw this thread pop up....anyways sorry for the late reply here. I would agree with that. The combat system was really bad. The stories did not make sense whatsoever. You basically summed up why I dislike the game. I actually was close to finishing it I stopped because I didn't want to bother I felt for me it was a waste of time plating the game in the first place. :/

I would remake all of them into better games.

In seriousnessy seriousness, Final Fantasy 4 because of Kefka. I know there is a DS port of it, but that's a bit old. Looking at it in modern graphics would be amazing.
Especially Kefka.

I think I would revisit Final Fantasy X-2 and remake that one. It was a travesty with some brilliant points in there.

The Good: The game required you to poke around and explore almost every square inch of Spira and the towns and cities and maps and various locations therein. The little blue "Hey, check this out!" signs were the only indication something was going on and it took actual work to look and see what was happening. The game was fun because it required multiple play throughs and total immersion to really get all the facets of the game. I loved it.

The story line was subtle and some of the music was excellent. It was a great idea and well-executed.

The Bad: Oh, man. The opening scene made me embarrassed to be a 20-something guy playing this game. I literally hid my play time from my wife and from friends because it was so pop bubble gum with the music and some of the dialogue and the graphics. It felt like a game made by guys who think they know what girls act like and it comes across.

I also like my Final Fantasies gritty and violent. Main or secondary characters dying off always adds something to the mix. Final Fantasy X-2 is just too 'fun' and all positive and light hearted in a world where bad things kinda happen but not really. It never felt like there was a serious threat or danger. If I ignored certain elements in certain parts of Spira, they wouldn't be let loose to destroy the world. At least that's how I felt about the whole thing.

The massive exploration required made it awesome. The K-Pop style intricacies made it almost unbearable. I wouldn't have to blow it up and start over. I'd just add a sharper edge.

Ghostbear1111 : I can understand that I remember the first time playing the game my expression was what is this.....what have they turn Yuna into! And Rikku as well! And who the heck is Paine?! I really disliked most parts of the game especially the sidequest parts. The only thing I liked was the storyline, and the soundtrack's as well that's it. I agree on all points you said. I didn't like that opening song called real emotion. By far the best one was 1000 words I remember crying when always watching that scene....

sonicbros : Lol....your post was funny and weird in a way. Personally I wouldn't do that myself. But, hey its always good to think outside the box of that everyone has their own preferences of what they would like of that.

I'd personally try to remake FF6 into a 3D game with updated sprites and content.


If you know your final fantasy and stuff,   one of the Final Fantasy games(FF4) got a 3D port for DS and PC, despite the original game on snes being 2-D.
So I'd do something similar but it'd be FF6.


If not that, I'd take FFX-2 and completely change it.


FFX-2's main problem was that they took everything that was so great about the original and ruined it.  
If I were to make a follow up to FFX, It'd make it focus on the past events of Jecht since he clearly had a major role in the original game.

And the plot of FFX-2 focused way too much on The whole TidusXYuna relationship.      I don't mind the concept of Yuna having her own game as past FF games had main female characters, but for crying out loud give us something interesting with the story.

SuperCrash64 : I can understand why you have said that. That's why ffx-2 has a lot of mixed reviews and if people had the power to change the game that is what most of them said on. I liked how the story was myself. But, I don't get why they made of the past to do with lenne and shuyin. It didn't make sense at all and most of us though yuna was a reincarnation of her I think she was seemly they looked a like a lot while shuyin looked like tidus. '-'

Anyone who knows me know that one of my favorite games ever is: FINAL. FANTASY. 6! It's my favorite game in the whole series, and I'd love to see it on PS4 with hd graphics, remastered soundtrack, bonus stuff, voice acting, etc. It's one of those things that i feel will never come to fruition(Sadly.. Dang 7 and it's popularity), but i still dream of.

Like most others who have played it, I'd definitely do a 3D remake of Final Fantasy VI with a remastered soundtrack, voice acting and perhaps updated mechanics. That game still has my favorite storyline and characters of any Final Fantasy game but has landed in the shadow of VIi and X due to the time it was released at. It deserves far more exposure in my opinion.

None of the other Final Fantasy games that I've played were amazing enough to me to warrant one. VII is already getting that treatment and X got a PS4 remaster which I felt was enough.

I dunno, it seems like the vast entirety of FFX-2 was an afterthought.       The Aeons didn't make any sense either, they were killed off in the first game much later on.

I'd have to say a remake/remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics would be something I want.
The story is much more mature and generally has a darker setting, with the right system it could be fantastic. Having the whole world in 3D, it would be perfect

yoshirulez! : That's a another good one to talk about sadly I don't know much of the in depth of the game. All I know that it was a 3D game I used to watch my brother play the game on the computer that's how I know. I never played the game myself since when I saw it to me it looked odd because of how the graphics was.

But you DO have the power to remake any Final Fantasy you want.

Vanelan : Yes that's true, but not many people know of that. Someone had to say it and it might as well been you to since you have posted that. Well people are picky they might not like the RPG maker.
