Hey guys! I just wounder, what platforms you can reach with this plugin in the near future? I really wanned PS1 games when I was playing here and now I see you have them, which is pretty sweet. I wounder if you can reach consoles like the GameCube, PS2, PSP, Xbox in the future?
Thanks a lot for you effort, and keep doing great job

PheonyX : We might add some of those consoles mentioned in your post, we might not. Due to a lot of reasons. These questions get asked pretty frequently. I'll list some of the reasons below.

1. The stability of the emulation for those systems. A lot of the emulators available for those systems don't work that well, and if they do you need a pretty powerful computer to run them properly.

2. There needs to be open-source emulators available for the systems.

3. The cost of developing the plugin to work with these systems. Adding features costs money. In this case, a lot of it. So in order to have new features added, we need more money in donations.

4. The cost of bandwidth and storage to host these games. Probably even a bigger cost than developing them. So David has to know that adding those systems will drive traffic to a point where it helps offset those costs.

5. Legal Issues - Developers are still very protective of these IP's, so often sites that host the games you mentioned get taken down.

So I wouldn't hold your breath that any of those systems get added anytime in the near future. In the meantime you can enjoy the TENS OF THOUSANDS of games that are already available for you to play for free. David is always constantly adding content to the site, so I'm sure if you keep your eyes opened, you will find something you like.

Yeah, just to echo what Jordan said - there isn't much room left to expand into any newer systems. Bandwidth being one major reason and computing power being the other. I've got a PS2 emulator and it runs just fine but my laptop is less than a year old. Can't imagine emulating a PS2 game online and having it run well at all.

Plus, this is a retro gaming website. I don't really want anything made after the year 2000 to really be on the site. Maybe games from the PS2 are retro to the 15 year olds around here but to those of us who grew up on Atari and NES it's hard to consider anything beyond N64 as retro.
