It’s been a while since the last ruleset was posted so it’s about time for a renewal.

Before you decide to post your walkthrough/game guide, please go over this post. I’ll be addressing several rules and guidelines when it comes to writing guides on Vizzed.

What is a Game Guide?

A Game Guide is -as the name implies- something you write to guide other players through a game. Whether this is done by doing a complete detailed writeup of the game or by focusing on a specific part of the game does not matter. You can read more about the different types of guides here.

Guides are required to have a minimum of 500 words, though that should hardly pose a challenge. It’s also advised to disable your post layout, re-read and spell check your guide for an easier reading experience.

What is allowed?

Splitting a long guide in two parts. This can only be done once your guide surpasses 20.000 words. For an easier reading experience try and split it in two roughly equal parts. If you deem this impossible, contact a Local Moderator for assistance (Boured or ZeroTails).

HOWEVER, if you want to split a guide during a Tour de Vizzed month (January, July), all parts will have to get posted on the same day.

What is not allowed?

Plagiarism. This is by far the worst offense and can get you punished and banned. Plagiarism includes copying your guide from another website (no matter how much of it is copied) and rewording someone else’s guide.

We have received many reports from users about their guides being posted blank. This is due to two words: s-le-e-p and u-n-i-o-n (typing them like this because posting them normally makes the post go blank, third time I'm editing this post now to make it visible).

Try to avoid or replace those words and any other word that contains them in your guides. If you cannot, by any reason, type them like I did or in any other way that separates the letters.

This post will be updated if we know of more words that should be avoided and replaced.

I have added rule #5 as of today. Because such guides are easy to plagiarize, I will not allow them anymore. 

Any guides posted before this edit was made will not be effected by this new rule.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
