Hello Everyone,

This is a very interesting website.  I applaud all involved in its creation and continued evolution.

I am in need of much assistance. I am a completely lost newbie.

I had a compulsion to play Dragon Quest 1 -- which I knew as Dragon Warrior a few decades ago.  I found this lovely website through a search, as well as an emulator for the game.

I am very excited about that, but I've never so much as used an emulator before.  I was once a hardcore gamer, but those days are long gone.  I don't own and won't own any current game systems.  I don't think I can contribute much to the site, but I would love to recapture an experience from my youth and play this game.

This website is informative, but the amount of information is daunting.  Could someone suggest steps to start?  For example, I downloaded the RGR emulator, but now that I have it I don't know how to set it up.  The folder has dozens of items, and I don't know where to start.

I would appreciate any help.

sleekie : First thing you would do after downloading it is running the installer (it'll probably be named installer or something). To install it, you'd probably need administrative access or the administrator password. After that, just do what you'd normally do when installing something .

I am happy to say I was able to get that far.  What the installer gave me was a folder with 79 items--some folders, some applications, some file types I don't know.

I guess I'm looking for the next step--what do I do with all this?  I assume some of the folder is background tasks or something like that?  I mean, I don't know what part is the emulator, or how to use it with the Vizzed website.

That's all you have to do. Now go onto any game pages on Vizzed (example for Pokemon Emerald: https://www.vizzed.com/play/pokemon-emerald-gba-online-game-boy-advance-10643-game ) , and click on the link with the emulator you want to play with.The links requiring the Vizzed RGR plugin should work now .

And when I click on "Play Game" I get this message:

Either you don't have the RGR Plugin installed or you're using an incompatible browser.  Would you like to download the RGR Plugin or get more information on compatibility?

I'm using a Firefox browser.

I tried re-downloading the RGR, but nothing has changed.

Can you think of anything else?

You might need to allow the plugin to run in firefox.
To do that, type about:addons in the address bar and press enter.

You should be taken to a page with a sidebar that looks like this:


If you click on plugins, you should get a list of the currently installed plugins.
Find Vizzed Retro Game Room Plugin in the list and click the drop down menu on the right and select always activate.


Close and reopen firefox and give the game a try.
Let us know how it goes.
