Ahhhh....Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone Arcade Game, what can I say about this Video Game that could be of any good for it? Well like the Reviewer before me I agree totally with much of what the Previous Reviewer Says, and will add more Depth to it as far as my Take on the Game. For Starters is the Total Change from the Traditional look that Billy & Jimmy Lee had in the Previous Two Double Dragon Games Double Dragon, & Double Dragon II: The Revenge as far as Continuities go as the Game before it had a Roman Numeral for the Sequel Title then 3 Years Later they use the Number 3 instead which was unusual in most Games that use one or the other like Super Mario 3 which followed after Super Mario 2, and Ninja Gaiden III which came after Ninja Gaiden II they stuck with the Numbers they started with leading me to almost believe that this was not an Actual Sequel as the Game is Completely Different from the last two, but the Protagonists of the Series still look pretty much the same, and the NES Version by Technos and Acclaim Entertainment Inc Both now Defunct corrected this Confusion by Releasing A Home Version A Year Later. According to the Fact obtained as proven True; The game was not internally developed by Technōs Japan, who were busy working on other projects at the time such as WWF Superstars and The Combatribes. Instead a company called East Technology, whose previous work was the 1989 arcade shoot-'em-up Gigandes,
was contracted to develop the third game in the series, resulting in a
sequel with a drastically different gameplay and graphic style than its
predecessors. The game was controversial upon its release due to the
addition of item shops where players acquire power-ups by inserting real
money into the cabinet, which was removed from the later Japanese
release after negative feedback from play testers. I notice in Coincidences all of those 3's Super Mario, Double Dragon, & Ninja Gaiden were the most Difficult of their Respective Series well enough about that.

Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone or Better yet III as the NES The Sacred Stones Version Calls it is an almost Forgettable Game due to the absence of the Similarities of the Recent Games in the Franchise. The Game is Basically about Marian she is the Center of the Game she is Billy Lee's Girlfriend as well all know since she was actually Murdered by Willy in Double Dragon II: The Revenge she was Miraculously Resurrected by an Angel as thanks to Billy & Jimmy Lee for stopping the Shadow Warriors for good for terrorizing the City, or so we thought. While Billy & Jimmy were Enjoying their Two-Year Vacation in Training and seeking the Higher Limit in their Sōsetsuken Martial Arts Style; they learn of A new Enemy Risen from the Ashes of Defeat and since the 3rd Time is the Charm the Enemy upgraded their Fighting Skills and made a Few New Recruits one of their Generals is the Brother of the Slain Willy he is the Boss of the First Stage and the Easiest to beat if you can Time your Attacks correctly. They call themselves the Neo Black Shadow Warriors or Neo Black Warriors, and they are some Very Pissed off Individuals in seek of Vengeance and World Conquest, soon after they meet an Old Japanese Fortune Sooth-seer named Hiruko whom with Dark Designs of her own as on the Final Stage she shows her True Colours.  Double Dragon 3 can be set up to be played by up to two or three player simultaneously, similarly to The Combatribes. The first two players control returning heroes Billy and Jimmy Lee respectively, while the third player controls a new character named Sonny (a yellow-clad palette swap of the Lee brothers). Players of the Game meet that There are more Levels well just one Extra Level to make it 5 instead of 4 like the last two. Now the First Level takes Place in America likely New York City like the First two Games the Graphics are not that bad but could have been Tweaked just a little bit and make it a better Game for starters and the Moves are pretty good and like the NES Version that came after it Both Players can do shared attacks such as the Double Hurricane Kick in which both players lock Arms and do the Super Deadly Hurricane Kick wiping out opponents flying them to the Side of the Screen, and the Partner tossing Jump Kick which is slightly less Deadly. The Buy In Store known as "Weapon Shop" Mode is A Total Letdown because it is Required for you to have More Credits Actual Money to buy More Energy, More Lives, Weapons, and buy some assistance from Friends you Gained during your Two-Year Break A Feature that is on every Single Level. The Moves are still pretty much sub-par Basic, but they are pretty effective enough. The Enemies of the Game are Pretty Tough from the Second Level of China on up such as the Second Level Boss whom is actually a Ripoff of Bruce Lee the Second Greatest Martial Artist of all-Time (behind Grandmaster Vic Moore the African-American Martial Artist expert).

Next is Level 3 In Japan Pretty Tough Level but the Boss YAGYU RANZOU whom is playable in the NES Version when you Defeat him is a Pest on this Version he can Duplicate Himself and each Duplicate can Damage you I figured out how to really defeat him and take less Damage as possible he is a Projectile A Teleporting type of Enemy and can be Dispatched Easily if attacked up close leaving him no Room to Attack Himself, but when he Teleports you must move up and down Towards him if you carefully defeated the Goons first he wont be as much as a Problem aside from the Hazards in the Level that can be Avoided with Accurate Timing of Jumps or even Moving Down or up away from them. Level 4 is Italy Fighting Gladiators, and some of the same Enemies from Previous Levels the Boss Here is Super Cheap and his Attacks Deal lots of Damage use the Wall Jump Attacks to your Advantage here when he approaches you he can be Dismounted from his Horse once that happens gone is his Overhead Attack Advantage, but he likes to Spam Projectile Attacks so be Very Careful here, If I recall correctly this is the only Level without the Weapons Shop Area or I could be Wrong. Finally you land in Africa East Africa to be Exact in Egypt where you end up in A Dessert than in the Woods beating up Possessed Living Trees Mummies, A Resurrected Zombie Gladiator, Multiple Traps, Facing the Treachery of Hiruko and End up in A Pyramid and inside the Tomb of Queen Noriam whom you face after defeating the Three most Powerful Mummies the last one is the most Dangerous and takes the most Damage and reveals itself to be Queen Noriam Marion's Black Ancient Counterpart who Possesses Marian; which actually reveals that Marion Martin Billy Lee's Girlfriend is actually an African-American Woman that was made to look European for Western Audiences that is actual fact. At this Point now it is Revealed who the most Powerful Enemy of the World is --Your own Girlfriend whom is Possessed and bent on Conquering the Universe. Upon Defeating the Evil Resurrected Egyptian Tengu known as Queen Noiram which is a Challenge you get a Decent Ending, but the Battle Leading to the End is a Most Strenuous and Difficult one. The Game had so much Potential and spawned a great Console Version such as the NES' The Sacred Stones, hopefully a good Reboot to this and the rest of the Games of the Series will come out. My Overall opinion of this Game is to me just an Averagely good Game at best, but controls and Graphics could have been slightly better so I give it a 6.5 out of 10, and it still Earns my Respect as the most Difficult Series of the Double Dragon Franchise.

I like the format you used for your review. You tell a story instead of using the usual metric evaluation reviewers usually take.

However I can't give it more than a 3 because it looks more like a guide than a review. Oh, you do give a few details about graphics and talk about the story, but are more into describing what happens in each level (especially in your last paragraph) rather than talking about the game at large.

janus : Ok Thanks, but none of the Games on here work anymore so I'm stuck to NES and console Games now as only those work and not the Arcade ones. What is wrong with the Vizzed site? Why isn't most of the Games on the site not working? Is the emus down or something?
