Hi,

I've basically just used this site for work since I wrote the main Vizzed RGR Plugin for it for Davideo7.  I'm struggling for money and looking to start doing computer support over the internet.  So far though I've only got one customer and it was a local one not over the internet.  You could confirm with David I'm the guy who wrote the main Vizzed RGR Plugin and am trustworthy to let access your computer remotely.
For the first few people I help I will do it for free.  I need to tune my software to be ready for official launch and get familiar with assorted real world computer setups and possible issues to expect and plan for.  If the person has Paypal and feels incline to donate, it's an option, but not necessary.  You don't even have to tell me if you have a Paypal.

Let me know if you have anything in particular you need help with.  Regardless I could review your system and do a tune up + offer recommendations.  I'll ask you some assorted questions to help me better understand what people would like help with.  I'll be continuing to research more ways to tune computer performance and can keep in touch possibly doing a 2nd pass in the near future.  My remote support software is super easy to install and use.  If you like what I did, maybe you could leave a Yelp review as I currently have 0.
If anyone wants help let me know on here and I'll msg you a URL to create a new support case.

Thanks,

Tom

Although I personally don't need any help with my computer, I'll make sure to keep you in mind if anyone I know is looking for some computer help and send them your way.

Jordanv78 : thx

FalcoDude :

I couldn't afford to pay for software so I wrote my own.  I had a trial for LogMeIn.com's Rescue program, but didn't even get to try it with one person because nobody responded to my online ads for help.  Extended the trial like twice and not one customer...

I'm here to confirm that tom760 was the guy who created the RGR Plugin. I also let him use his software to access 1 of my computers to test out his software and it worked great, I just had to disable my anti-virus during that time.

Hi tom! Wanted to say that I admire and appreciate your work on the RGR Plugin! Haven't attempted Dreamcast or cd game in a while, but it was running pretty well the last time I did.

And I'm not sure if I'd need a tune up or anything, but my laptop has been randomly acting up lately, exhibiting similar seemingly harmless symptoms as my Toshiba that died a couple years ago so it's a bit concerning.

I ran a full scan with both Malware Bytes and Microsoft Security Essentials. Seems to be ok today but I was having huge CPU spikes to 70% and memory to 70% by just idling... the last time this happened (same laptop) I had a nasty virus that took several scans and restarts to get rid of, but I don't see anything this time.

Just curious of your thoughts or if you think a tune-up would be needed. Not much on the computer really except games, skype, and documents/music. CPU processes seem to be adding up normally at the moment but I don't' know what could've caused it before.

Thanks!

Wow you guys have amazing artwork you put on your posts.

danielbelitch :

Hmmm.  It would be a lot easier to investigate if you had it in that mode where it had like 70% mem usage when idle.

I wouldn't expect you have a virus or anything.  You could try running AVG also for extra possible detection.  I really need to research more how well each program does.

I could look over your auto-start stuff in the registry, start menu, services, and scheduled tasks areas.  Running something like Seatools might be good to see if your hard drive has any issues going on, but probably not.   Maybe it could have been like Windows Update doing stuff in the background.  What OS do you run?  I can look into advice to tell you what to do if you see it show those signs again.  For instance maybe Process Explorer would be useful.

Hello there and your assistance might be just what I need, I'm pretty familiar with running anti-virus scans and such, I was a high speed Internet support technician for Comcast for about 4 years. My cousin built this computer a few years ago, when dual core processors in a Windows  XP desktop was "state-of-the-art" so I know it's only a matter of time before this poor thing becomes totally useless.  But if there's any way to extend this poor thing's life,  I'd really appreciate it.  And of course I'd be more than happy to let you take a "crack" at it just to see if it's still in good shape or if there's anything I can do from this end to keep it running properly. Great work on the RGR, I've spent many hours on here playing all my favorite games from a more innocent time.

I want to ask for help (honestly I just want LiveSplit 1.6 to work again but apparently I'm getting errors when starting up. Also, LiveSplit is a timing/splitting program in case you didn't know.) but for some reason I'd rather pass this one. But I do know that my pc needs some fixing because, according to my parents, "it takes long to open Chrome".

I just think that my pc is full of virusses even though I notice literally nothing except for one thing (when I try to save a text file/picture I get an error before I get to save it, and LiveSplit 1.6 won't start at all) and it is annoying to me. And I'm pretty noob when it comes to Anti Virusses so yeah. It's just kind of annoying to me lol

tom760 :

this computer I'm using is more than crud...it's my roomate's and he's 58 and really don't know how to take care of it. It's like a really old Emachine, and has this search error problem at the least. Says something like trackid? So yeah, tom, if you could fix up this hunk of junk that'd be AMAZING...

tom760 : Hm, well I can assure that Windows Update isn't running without my knowledge since I have automatic updates disabled, but now that I think about it, Windows Update hasn't shown me anything since getting the Get Windows 10 app. It just hangs out at the bottom of my notification bar now since I never bothered upgrading with all the 50/50 reviews compared to Windows 7.

Thus answers your other question, but not entirely. This laptop initially came with Windows 8 but I have Windows 7 Ultimate on it. What else could cause such a situation if not a virus? It happened again last night for the duration until I put it to sleep, but once again is fine right now lol.

As someone said above,

Thank You very much for the effort you put in with the RGR plug in. It has really helped me do so much I never thought I would be able to do.  to be honest ive broken what I want to say down because I have too many lists to put down that I'm not even going to bother wasting your time to read them. I honestly am unable to express how grateful I am that this whole site even exists.

I'm also curious about this free tune up thing. My computer is a bit old I bought it around 2009-2010 it is a dell insperon 620 64-bit operating system  8.00GB RAM with windows 7 and I want to get its code checked out and maybe inspected for any programming issues. I'm interested in accepting those services to help you out and get my buddy all doctored up at the same time. tell me what info you need to tap into my system and ill get it to you.

Thanks for the replies guys.  This should be enough tuneup requests for now.  Not sure if it's smart for me to take on more.  Mostly hoping to get like 4 reviews on Yelp.  Hopefully after these I will find customers.

David1217 :

Thanks, I'm glad you've gotten a lot of enjoyment from the RGR plugin.  If I had it when I was younger I would have been so stoked, but I haven't done the video game thing for a long time.

I'll direct msg you and we can figure out a good time for me to help you and I can point you to my software.

I'll send you messages where you can go to create a support case and get my software.

danielbelitch :

Not really sure.  I can review what processes your computer has running, startup items, scheduled tasks, etc.  Also I can come up with some directions for you to do if you see that again to hopefully get more insight into a cause.  Maybe like tomorrow I can figure out directions in time by.  I'm not sure what I'll get done today.

Mabokun7 :

You're welcome about the RGR plugin stuff.  David's the main one responsible for the site, but I'm happy I made an important component of it.

I'll send you the same kind of msg as the others I listed above and you can let me know a time that works for you to have me take a look.

Actually I guess maybe a few more people I can help.  These existing few people expressing interest I'm not sure how quick are going to be available and I could really use some good Yelp reviews.

People are welcome to keep asking if I can help them and I will for a little while if I'm available.  Maybe just for a couple or few days though unless someone is in need bad and can't afford to pay.

hey Tom760.

I'd like to get a computer tune-up when possible.
My computer is a beautiful little antique piece of junk xD
It's an old HP (7years+) but it can still play league of legends and stuff like that.
But sometimes it has lagspikes which are out of this world. Than I'm just waiting for 5 minutes before I can proceed doing my work.

If you'd like, would you want to give a look at it? And if you would, would I still be one of the freebies, or do I need to pay, and if so, how much?
