So I bought a Meninist sweatshirt. It arrived yesterday and I wore it to school for the first time today. For anyone that is unaware, the sweatshirt looks like this:

A brief background: Meninism is a "ideology" that was created on Twitter. Essentially it is just satire making fun of feminists. Feminists absolutely despise the Meninist Twitter account, which now has over 1 million followers, and have tried multiple times to get it banned. They, of course, were unsuccessful. Feminists say all the time on Twitter that if they see someone with a Meninist shirt they will punch them in the face. Apparently they think that they deserved it because of what they were wearing. (Sounds familiar doesn't it?) So yeah, I was fully prepared for a slew of insults and dirty looks today, and I was not disappointed.

A few days ago I told my friends that I ordered it. The arrival of the sweatshirt was highly anticipated by all of us. Even though they themselves don't have shirts, they basically followed me around all day and supported the cause.

I'm going to go through my day period-by-period. Keep in mind that one of the biggest feminist ideas is that women should be able to wear whatever they want without being ridiculed.

I arrive at school wearing the shirt. Just walking through the hallways I already notice people staring at me. I go right away to meet my friend Joe (I'm using names because screw it) who was just as pumped about me wearing the sweatshirt as I was. I also meet my friends Nick and Paul, who both love the sweatshirt. The first person to say something to me was a guy, the only guy who objected to it the entire day. All he said was "Wow, Meninist?" in a condescending tone.

First Period: Nothing much happened first period. I got lots of nasty looks but no confrontation. Nick is in that class with me and we just did our work together without any problems.

Second Period: Here's where it starts to get interesting. I have Creative Writing this period, so there's no lecture or lesson or anything. I sit next to Joe, and Sam (male). Shannon sits on the other side of Joe. Sam saw my shirt for the first time and loved it. Joe and I knew that Shannon would object to my shirt, so we were pretty excited. She came in and saw my shirt and was not happy. Me and Joe told her how feminism is dumb and pointless, how men and women are already equal, etc. but she wouldn't listen. Towards the end of the period she brought up the famous wage gap myth and I was trying to explain to her that the wage gap stat comes from the average of all men and all women regardless of experience, qualifications, hours worked, or ever what job they do but she wouldn't let me talk. She kept interrupting me until the period ended and then she darted out the door.

After second period I walked with Joe to meet our friend Ryan. Ryan has been saying he wants to get a Meninist shirt or sweatshirt for a while now, and his girlfriend wants to get one too. If a man can fall in love with a sweatshirt, that's what happened with Ryan when he saw mine. Some background info on Ryan real quick: He hangs out with the same crowd I do, but he is popular at the same time. All of the girls love him and all of the guys respect him. It's a little strange because he has the status of the popular kids even though he hangs out with "middle-of-the-road" kids like me and Joe. So anyway, he loves my shirt. Him and Joe are in the same physics class third period. I'm also in physics third period, but I'm in a different class because I am in AP. (Joe and Ryan are both extremely intelligent. They could both be in AP physics if they wanted to, but they chose not to since they are both taking 2 other AP classes.) They come into my class with me (before third period officially starts) and just kind of go around talking about my sweatshirt, asking people what they think and such.

Third & Fourth Period: I had two periods of physics today and we took a test that took up both periods so nothing much happened. Pretty sure I aced the test though

Fifth Period: I knew this period would be great. I have French fifth period and we never do anything. The guys complain about feminism a lot because their English teacher apparently talks about how sexist men are every day. Most of the girls don't contribute to the conversation at all except for Virginia, who always sticks up for the English teacher. (NOTE: Virginia still has me blocked on Instagram because last summer I said that they shouldn't take Hamilton off the $10 bill and replace him with a woman.) I knew she would take exception to my shirt. She didn't even notice for the first 30 minutes of the 40-minute period though. When she did notice, she told me in a stern voice to get out of the classroom. I laughed. Thomas noticed what she was talking about and said "Nice shirt man!" and gave me a high five. "I hate you." Virginia said to Thomas, then turned towards me and said "I hate you too." Then the bell rang.

Sixth Period: Lunch. I have Lunch with Nick, Joe (a different Joe, this one doesn't really care either way about my shirt), and an annoying kid named Matt. Matt loved my shirt. Matt is the kind of person that believes everything The Bible says. He thinks it's wrong to masturbate, he thinks the Earth is only 6,000 years old, etc. We agree on most things though, and I hate that I have to agree with him because he is a dunce. His ideas are right, but his reasoning isn't. Anyway, the four of us just talk about how feminism is dumb and stuff.

Seventh Period: Here is where it gets interesting. We had a substitute teacher, so Ryan skipped English and came to my class. The desks were aligned in a big circle, and it ended up with girls on one side and the boys on the other. Not on purpose it just ended up that way based on where everyone chose to sit. Out of the corner of my eye I see a girl (Erin) look at me and whisper to a lesbian girl (Kayleigh), who then turns to look at me. Pretty obvious what they were talking about. Shannon is also in this class. She's the one that starts the discussion by telling me to jump out the window that was open behind me. (We are on the second floor btw.) The girl next to her (Maria) then tells me to take off my sweatshirt so she can burn it. Erin says she wants to pay a kid to fight me. Kayleigh then pipes up, saying "I'm not going to lie, your sweatshirt really pisses me off." Ryan wasn't in the classroom at this point, he was still in English. I texted him at the beginning of the period that I had a sub, he didn't come until like 10 mins in. I tried multiple times to ask what was wrong with the shirt or explain why feminism is dumb but they wouldn't let me talk. There were like 10 of them and 1 of me, so whenever one would stop talking another one would start without letting me get a word in. Ryan finally arrives and then people actually let us talk. I told you, all the girls love Ryan so the fact that he sided with me suddenly meant they could no longer just hurl insults, they now had to actually debate. The first thing they brought up was, of course the wage gap. I'm not the best at public speaking, but I knocked it out of the ballpark with my explanation. I explained in a very intelligent and articulate manner how the wage gap statistic is an average of all males in the United States and all females in the United States and does not take into consideration what their jobs are, how qualified they are, how many hours they work, how long they have been with the company, etc. I even cited CNN as my source, since that's where I got my information. Their entire responding argument was that I am wrong. No evidence, I just have to take their word I guess. Then Ryan said "If it is a well-known fact that women get paid less than men for the same work, why aren't companies full of women? If I own a company, and I know that I can pay women less, I'm not going to hire any men." Their response? Dead silence. There were ten of them and not one could think of a response. It was the most beautiful silence I had ever heard. They kept bringing up more stuff and we kept shooting down anything that they presented with logic and reasoning. We were outnumbered 10:2 yet we still kicked ass, and it was glorious.

Nothing much happened eighth or ninth period, but we live in the age of technology, so the fun didn't end at school. Joe continued his argument with Shannon via text message. He sent me screenshots and it was rather hilarious. Instagram is where all the debate really went down, because I posted a picture of myself with the shirt on with the caption "Fight me feminazis #Meninist #CopLivesMatter #OOTD". Obviously I was referring to a verbal fight (aka a debate) not a physical fight. Not many people from school responded (they were still embarrassed about getting #rekt in school I guess lol) but I got a few responses from random girls. You can see the debate here if you want: https://instagram.com/p/9vdMR6vS3P/

Basically, my point in posting this was to share how hypocritical and abusive the feminist movement really is. All I did was wear a sweatshirt with a word on it and because of it people were telling me to jump out a window. It's extremely ironic how feminists go to "s*** Walks" and all of these other parades and protests with little to no clothes on saying that they should be able to wear whatever they want, yet when they see someone in a Meninist sweatshirt they instantly bully them and tell them that they can't wear it. They do all these crude protests in the name of free speech, and then flip out on people like me because of a sweatshirt. They only want freedom of expression to go one way, and that is one of the big problems I have with feminism. In an attempt to convince me that feminism is for the greater good, they only managed to convince me that feminism is just as toxic as I thought. I can't wait to wear the sweatshirt again on Monday, and I can't wait until Joe, Paul, Ryan, Nick, and Sam get one too so we can roll as a squad.

There's girls like me who believe men and women should be treated as equals, get the same jobs, do the same chores, have the same kind of maternity with taking care of kids. Then there's those who say women should have a little more respect, and maybe authority, with their actions and stuff.

Then there's feminists...

Women who are basically the real life equivalence of High Elves in Elder Scrolls. Think their cause is better than everyone, need to all be treated perfectly, and attack anything that annoys them at all. They believe anyone who opposes their ideals deserves to burn in hell. And jump out a window. And get blocked on Twitter. And apparently just get beat up. If you say you're feminist but aren't this passive-aggressive, good for you, you aren't really a feminist, just a person with opinions interpretable to reason.

Don't go high and mighty with Meninism though, we don't need a clone war going on.

Amiably Otaku : Like I said, Meninism is really just satire. It was created as a response to radical feminism. While there are some disadvantages men have (such as in divorces) I'm not going to go around screaming about "the matriarchy" lol.

We all know that Eirinn is a trouble maker

Bad jokes aside, if Meninism doesn't do any harm, then let it be. There's always a funny side, and while you may or may not agree with it, it exists.

I would be like the second Joe, not giving a damn about the shirt, however I would kick in the conversation. Who I would side with is debatable (I would laugh at "jump off the window" tbh), but I do think the girls were overdoing it a bit. You himself stated that one of your friends' girlfriend wants a Meninist shirt, and that sole fact proves they were overdoing it.

Anyway, that's a nice method to sort out the kind of people you don't want to associate with. Too bad that over here they wouldn't have told you to jump off the window but kick you out the window instead (or that could probably be only me, considering how I was in school).

Oh, and next time you should accept Maria's request and take off your sweatshirt , but be sure to NOT wear anything below

That's awesome. I've been following the meninist guy on twitter for a while now and I love the stuff he posts.

Still, wearing one of those shirts very quickly shows you how hypocritical and unequal feminism actually strives to be now.

Continue to wear the sweatshirt and rock it.

That is glorious, man. Alas, if only I had the confidence to pull crap like that. Until then though I'll stick to subtle insults and ripping open the holes in the arguments people present me with when they try to argue. Its sad when movements lose sight of thier original goal and become something to be mocked, but unfortunately that has happened to feminism. Rock that sweatshirt, man, and let them hurt the reputation of what think they understand even more. If someone can't appreciate a well-done attempt at satire, you know they don't have the intelligence to.

Nice sweatshirt. Now,it is understandable about the hate you get from it,but feminists,in my humble opinion,do not  really know what they want. They want all the money and rights, and any courtesies that were afforded to them, but do not want the problems, responsibilities,or do the actual work. And we,as a society are paying for this with weak males not sure how to behave around women, women thinking that males are unnecessary, and general stupidity on both sides.

Sword legion : http://meninist.co

EX Palen : Nick actually told me to wear a shirt with a giant penis on it underneath if they told me to take it off lmao. I wouldn't do that though, I could legitimately get in trouble for that. I thought it was funny too, when they told me to jump out the window and stuff. It was exactly the hypocritical response I was expecting. If I didn't want controversy I wouldn't have worn it

geeogree : Thanks Geeo, I will

Chindogu : I'll admit, I was a little nervous at first. Like I said, I'm not the best at speaking. But as soon as Shannon said something and I was able to respond with something logical without stuttering or anything, I gained a lot of confidence. I'm definitely going to continue to wear it

Oldschool777 : I agree.

Well, now that the weather is cooler, wearing a sweatshirt is now necessary. Hence the meninist sweatshirt will come into play more. Feminists have corrupted the movement so much that they have lost sight of what they want and hence are confused. Thank you for agreeing.

I'm going to start off by saying that I love this idea. Especially since it is so blatantly satirical, I would have gotten a massive kick out of this, and so would many friend of mine, male and female alike.

One thing though. I'll give you that the very simple form of feminism is just trying to minimize social issues that will always exist between males and females, same with other groups based on race or wealth or whatever. Just try not to lump extremists of any group in with the masses of people who are like I said above. That will get you hotter waters than this joke ever will.

I would TOTALLY wear this kind of clothes. I would take it as a badge of honor to hear frustrated feminists - those who are too easily offended by the smallest of things - whine about it. Go free speech!

Amiably Otaku : Wow, I'm glad some women are vocal about these... people. Seriously; they pretend representing ALL women, but even the most socialist of women in my family would NOT identify with them

Obviously, some people don't understand satire.
I would also not call these people feminists as much as angry people that are easily offended.

I can argue both sides of that pay argument, but I'll leave that to you. ^_-

Day 2:

Lesbian girl named Gianna wasn't in school the first day, but was today. She is actually dating Kayleigh, the lesbian girl I mentioned before. In between first and second period we passed each other in the hallway. She saw my shirt and said I was "f***ing disgusting". She didn't stop to have a disussion about it, she just insulted me and kept walking. She is in creative writing with me, my second period class, and she sits a few seats to my left. The entire period she was complaining about my sweatshirt. She told me that she hates me and told Joe that she isn't friends with him anymore, but refused to actually have a discussion about feminism. She is also in my 8th period class. I tried to start a conversation with her then, but she wouldn't even make eye contact with me or acknowledge my existence at all.

tgags123 : welcome to the new face of feminism. It's no longer about equality but about knocking men down and taking from them.

If it was about equality then feminists would be spending 90% of their time outside of North America dealing with ACTUAL instances of inequality that women are experiencing instead of complaining about the crap they complain about now.

As much amusing as it is to picture this situation while being outside, I know feminists can be a pain in the *** sometimes (meaning almost all the time). One thing is certain though, that Gianna gal is getting far with that attitude... far from accomplishing anything actually meaningful in her life.

You probably know this but I'll say it anyways. Don't let someone with that kind of attitude bother you, even if she's part of your life to some extent. If there's one thing you end up learning the longer you live is that life is full of idiots, jerks, and self-centered people at every corner, some of which will sadly be part of your life to a certain degree. Thankfully as time passes it also becomes easier to make sure their impact in your life is as minimal as possible, as well as picking which ones you want to keep close and which ones you wish distant from yourself.

It might seem arrogant to judge people without knowing them well enough, but I believe it's a fairly safe assumption to take when you consider they're being immature and refuse to try and discuss or rationalize things whenever they disagree with something or get displeased with it. It's only fair to be arrogant when that's the case wouldn't you say?

Anyways, keep it up. This is priceless.
