Ok, my answer is really unoriginal but here we go.
I honestly play video games, mostly because its fun. I mean, of course it's fun, but there's something more to that than just fun. When you play a video game, be honest. You were astounded, amazed. You wanted to be in the game. It felt like a huge adventure back there. The gameplay, the visuals, the music, OH MY GOSH! It felt like a whole new world, a world that was completely different than yours. You relax, breathing the aroma of adventure and fun. You meet imaginary friends, most of which are really relatable, and you bring a deep relationship too. You want to be in that experience a lot, thinking that world you were in is boring but when you're in the video game world, it feels great. You have good pleasure, you want to see how the story ends. And even if the game doesn't appear to have a story, well it kinda does.  You yearn to get more points, you yearn to progress the game, you yearn how to be good at this game, and mostly you just play video games because you love playing it. Being addicted and whatnot, you may still appreciate it. It's great.

It takes me to a whole new world where I can be free, and be whoever I wish to be. And all my problem in the actual world just leaves and never comes back until I stop playing games, it also helps out when you are upset and you need someone to either A(beat up to make you feel better) or B(shoot people to make you feel better) also the whole video game world puts you in a adventure that your regular life might never give you and makes you smile accomplishing goals and saving the world maybe.

I play video games to experience new worlds beyond my own, meet new characters, experience thought provoking storylines, feel emotions,a appreciate art, and of course, be entertained by gameplay. Games are an experience.

I mainly play video games for entertainment, like everyone else. But I also play them as an escape. "Life sucks, then you die" is a motto I've heard throughout my life, and video games don't have to be that way. Also I'm addicted to video games, but at least it's not drugs anymore
