I think tattoos on both men and women are incredibly hot. I used to want a man with tattoos and facial piercings (mainly snake bites).
I personally want tattoos. I have several in mind that are personal to me and two of which I would share with my siblings. Definitely want wings on my back to emphasize my freedom and a Triforce tattoo with my siblings (we each get a piece that best represents us.) And a few others, like names and symbols.
Current boyfriend has no tattoos and isn't a fan of them . But he doesn't mind if I get tattoos and that's all that matters to me is he respects my decision and I respect his.

linklink : While I agree he's a good person (for a multitude of reasons), I have to disagree that specifically his dislike of tattoos makes him a good person. Personal preference doesn't always equal good moral standing. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And there's always nothing wrong with natural beauty. People with or without tattoos are gorgeous in their own ways--whether you choose to keep your personal canvas blank or to add colors and lines, everyone's is beautiful.

I have no problems with tattoos. Just as long as they don't get infected and they in in good taste (No KKK symbolisms or Swastikas or anything like that).

I'm going to get a few tattoos myself actually. I really like psychedelic nightmare pictures and stuff so I'll probably get my arms and maybe parts of my back done. I don't want it to go below a T-shirt for professional reasons. I'm a registered nursing student and a lot of patients can get uncomfortable seeing stuff like that. Especially the older ones.

But all in all I don't have any problems with people having tattoos. I don't think someone having tattoos is a good reason to decide to date someone. In fact in my opinion that's pretty shallow. Tattoos don't define who a person is also people seem to judge anyways.

MoblinGardens : Are the first dates usually "deep"? When I fell in love with my (now) husband I was mainly drawn to his baldness; he was attracted to my physique overall. Of course, as we got to know each other better we found out there was more than our exterior.

The same thing goes for tattoos. It is just a "starter"; the person having them has to offer more than those in order to create a lasting relationship.

So many people have tattoos and piercings these days, I almost don't even notice it to be honest with you. I feel like I'm one of the few people I see on a daily basis that doesn't have any.

I think that Tat's can be fine as long as they aren't on a persons face or something really bizarre. If done well tattoos can be very cool. I think the same thing can be said about piercings. Sometimes it's done well and sometimes It's not. It all depends on the way a person carries ultimately, I feel.

I am married to my wife, of whom has multiple tattoos, and I as well.  She has our kids birthdays on her right shoulder...that's all I'm gonna say on hers.  I have the misfits skull on my left fore arm and a three eyed goat's head on my right with an inverted star above its head.  I do have another on my right shoulder and upper and lower back as well, but they were mistakes that I won't go into either

Tattoos are a bit of a turn off for me. I mean some tattoos,if done right and tastefully, are good. But some like the tramp stamp, just look bad.

Would I date someone with tattoos? Yes,but the body art and piercings must be within good taste. Maybe I am just old,but I never had my ears pierced. Now,in my day,you had to worry about piercing the wrong ear, that said you played for the other team. Some people get them out of remembrance and those are fine. But if they are the kind of person to get tattoos because they need a patch of skin covered, pass.

Just remember three things with tattoos.

1.They are permanent.
2.Do not get someone's name put on you, unless it is your kid or a deceased friend or family member.
3.Think carefully about the tattoo and think long term, your skin will not stay taut forever and that will distort the tattoo.

janus : I should probably explain myself better, no? haha. What I mean is that something like tattoos don't really bother me. I don't judge someone for having tattoos. But of course one of the main ways to find if you like someone or not is their physical appearance. I guess I could clear things up by saying, I don't care if someone has tattoos. It's who they are. If that makes sense.

linklink : Care to elaborate about why I'm so weird rather than just spitting out a blank statement? I'd like to hear this.

How do you feel about them?
Do you have any?
If so, what and where?

I love them, yes, all over and more than last time I logged in and most people I have dated have them too so I don't care.

I am not sure if I have anything new to say about the subject that keeps on surfacing here all over again and seems to follow the same pattern from beginning to the eventual end. Its nothing to be feared with. Its highly addictive and the best ones are the crappy ones you got as a youngster that are now bend out of shape because you first got fat and then lost the weight again. Never cover them. They are part of your life. Cherish them like you would an ugly child who grew up bad. They are still part of you.
