Okay, So I've used this website for a long time, 2 or 3 years at least. Anyway, I love to play all kinds of RPG games especially old ones from old systems, This website has been a miracle for me as it has allowed me to play all the games I used to play as a small kid. I played the heck out of Lufia games and Shining force. I am not console specific, if I like the game I will play it. Anyway, I am looking for a new game to play, I would like to hear some suggestions on what to try. I have played a lot of different games, Lufia 1 and 2, I played Illusion of Gaia, Nearly all the Legend of Zelda games available on this site, Zelda is my favorite of all games. I played most of the final fantasy games, Final Fantasy 3/6 was my favorite. Anybody have a good list of games I could try out, doesn't have to be rpg specifically, I like platform games too, Sonic, Mario, Metroid. But I am in an RPG mood right now. Any Suggestions??

reaper13342 : Have you Played "Crystalis" for the NES? It's a Zelda type adventure/RPG hybrid game. That's a lot of fun.

Also, if we are on the subject of NES, I would also suggest Star Tropics

Also here are some great NES Hacks of more traditional Turn based RPG's that are pretty solid -

Those should hold you over for awhile. Let me know what you think! Happy gaming!

reaper13342 : I haven't played that many RPG's, but I would recommend Earthbound if you haven't played it yet. It's a lot like other RPG's, but with a lot of humor and charm.

It's actually a sequel to Mother 1, but I recommend starting with Earthbound (Based on others recommendations).

reaper13342 : There is an rpg coming out November 6, 2015. It is for the 3DS and is called Yo-kai Watch. It is kind of like Atlus' games like Persona or Shin Megami Tensei to give a background of the game's battle system. It is more involved in the battle system because you use your stylus for mini games in battle than mashing button games. It is very fun to play and the demo came out last week on the 3DS eshop.

reaper13342 :

I can recommend Wonder Project J for the SNES.
It's an original mix between a RPG and a Point & Click adventure.

You have to teach a robotboy in a lot of different things like intelligence, power, defense and charisma but in a very unique way.

For example: You give the boy a book to teach him intelligence and he's either gonna read it or just throw it away. So if he's doing a right move you have to praise him and if he's doing a wrong move you have do scold him, until he's doing it right.

It's a pretty complex game so it's a little bit complicated to explain it, but it's deffinetly worth playing.

If you like RPGs, the sNES is the console for you. It's got tons of the best RPGs of all time. Too many to list off here.

If you haven't tries them out already, I would suggest some of the Fire Emblem games and maybe some of the old Persona games as well if you have access to the PSX item.

reaper13342 :   Tecmo's Secret of the Stars, Chrono Trigger, if you have the Playstation item, the Lunar series are awesome. I am currently playing Lunar Silver Star Story Complete. Again, if you have the Playstation item, both of the Suikoden games. The second one is my all time favorite game in the world. Ogre Battle both on SNES and Playstation.  Secret of Evermore was pretty fun.  If you are a fan of Dragon Ball, the Gameboy has some pretty fun RPG's for them.  Valkyrie Profile for the Playstation was an incredible game.  There are so many that I can't remember them all.  If I can think of more, I will send them.  Oh yeah, just finished Faxanadu for the NES, and that one is always fun.  Emerald Dragon was good.

reaper13342 : "Final Fantasy 3/6 was my favorite."

really? SERIOUSLY?! it is 2016 people, STOP GETTING THOSE 2 DIFFERENT GAMES MIXED UP ALREADY! FF3 and FF6 are 2 different games. there never was a FF 3/6, same goes for FF2 and 4. the titles were translation errors on nintendo's part and nothing more.

my annoyance at people STILL getting falling prey to that stupid translation error aside... Arc the Lad for psx is kinda like a japanese themed shining force series.

as for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. it may be an emulator related issue. which emulator do you use here? i thought zsnes would run that game but if not that one then maybe try another option? an offsite option may be to download and try it with snes9x which works better with some games (better than zsnes overall iirc).

maybe some star ocean?

with it's stupid combat system aimed at forcing players to stay at a low lvl throughout the game (the main reason i can't play games like this. i fight in RPGs to get stronger NOT to get stronger and in turn train the monsters to get stronger with me. stupid scaling system) unlike pretty much all normal RPGs out there, you might try some of the SaGa games. though SaGa isn't for everyone, you might like it.

for platforming, theres several i've found that are pretty nice. castlevania, mega man, and mega man x are obvious choices but why not try Jewel Master or Chiki Chiki Boys for genesis and maybe The Addams Family, Act Raiser (both games), Rendering Ranger R2 (made by the people who made the turrican games iirc)for snes. for psx...Rayman is pretty good.

treos : First, I will start out by saying that I know that the Final Fantasy 3/6 thing was an error on Nintendo, I am sorry it annoyed you, But I
did not get anything confused. Secondly, I will look into this Arc the Lad since Shining Force is probably my favorite RPG from Sega.

Thirdly, I tried both SNes9x and Zsnes for the Mario RPG game, Maybe I caught hold of a bad rom, But I ran into the issue multiple times.
I even tried restarting the game to see if maybe it was some kind of issue with my current save, don't know if that was a possibility, but in the end I lost my heart to play Mario RPG. Now I don't know if I will put any time to trying to play it, not knowing whether I can get past that glitch or not. Anyway, Thanks for the suggestion.

reaper13342 : Just wondering, have you had the chance to try out any of the games I suggested in my original post? If so, what did you think?

Once you've gone through all of your suggestions, let me know. I've got a ton more I can recommend. lol

reaper13342 : well, i was playing arc the lad for a bit but have since become side tracked by this pc game i found called Factorio: https://www.factorio.com/ it's fairly complicated but not too much so. you just have to plan out how your building things. still, i am kinda curious what the bosses and final bosses of the arc the lad games are like since those games are japanese themed from what i saw so far.

as for SMRPG:LoTSS, i don't know what to tell you then. i thought it might've just been the emulator not emulating some aspect of it correctly but maybe it's something else. oh well.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
