There's an interesting question on the table: do you like the old-time cartoons? These include Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, etc.

I, personally, like most of the pet-based shows, as they are quite interesting. Tom & Jerry, though it's unrealistic, it's kind of funny, as well as creative. Scooby Doo is humorous as well, and it gets a mystery-based point across.

Now, although I like the others as well, any oldies with pets in them are going to be classified as my favorite cartoon out of the past-times.

Now, it's your turn to share. Throw your opinions out there!

Of course those are the best. All the Looney tunes are my favorites, Foghorn Leghorn and Yosemite Sam being my favorite characters. The Woody Woodpecker Show was great too. This one puts me in a minority for my generation though, I always hated Scooby-Doo. It's hard to pin point a reason, I just never liked it and would go outside and play if it was the only thing on. The Flintstones and the Jetsons ruled family-wise. Yeah, I liked Tom and Jerry a lot as well. I used to like the He-Man cartoon, GI Joe, and Transformers were really cool then. The Smurfs were surprisingly good I thought. I always wanted Gargamel to actually get to eat a Smurf.

When you mean the really oldies, there's only one that I like and that's the original Scooby Doo, I uses to watch that all the time, and just since you reminded me about it, I might watch a few episodes when I get a chance. Scooby Doo Where are You was just the best.

I think older cartoons were far superior to new ones. Back then, people had some sense and did not try to do what they saw Tom and Jerry do,like chuck fireworks at each other,or bash each other with a cast iron frying pan. They focused on fun and people knew it supposed to be entertainment.

These new shows just cater to the lowest common denominator and reduce people's minds to mush.

Oh yea I loved the old cartoons, especially their adult humor that flew under most people radars. I still go back to cartoon network to watch some of my favorite oldies like cat dog, the rugrats, and ren and stimpy

I usually enjoy oldies I watched as a kid like Bugs Bunny. Otherwise, shows like The Jetsons or Yogi Bear are, I find, not so interesting. They lack the social critique modern shows like the Simpsons have or are not as funny as Bugs Bunny.

My favorite non-anime cartoon was and still is Tom and Jerry.
My favorites were the episodes where Tom beats Jerry.

Vanelan : Wait, Tom and Jerry isn't a classic, contemporary anime? Well...I have a few watchlists and anime moment lists I need to fix now.

I for one still am a big fan of the old Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, and Pink Panther. Those were my favorite cartoons as a kid, and then one day I made the frightening discovery that not all kids my age watched, or ever even heard of them in some cases! lol

Yes as a matter of fact I do! They are what I grew up with what's not to like about them? It was a medicine for when you were down in the dumps. And simply something you enjoy and love to watch. Those cartoons will always be the best because of how they were made. Does anyone remember a pup named scooby doo? If I remember correctly it came out in the 80s, and came fall to being part of the 90s show along with the original scooby doo and other shows as well.

I dunno if anyone knows space ghost coast to coast? Please tell me that someone does lol. Also there were ones such as captain caveman. Josie and the cats it looks like I can't say a word there. and many more at that. ^^

The old cartoons were by far the best. I've watched recent cartoons with my little cousin and there is little to none values learned in them. Even though I didn't watch it much as a kid, Pink Panther taught the more "awkward" kids that no matter how many times you fall or fail, you get to see another day. He showed no shame and it's difficult to find a current cartoon that shows something like that.

Of course, that was when they can anything they wanted and they actually put care into their work. Like the 1940s-1950s Tom and Jerry, they would hit each other with everything they could grab and the kitchen sink. They would be injured and in the next scene they were fine and kids knew not to throw explosives at each other.

Personally I love a lot of cartoons that were made before I was born.

Loony Tunes and old Disney Cartoons are a no-brainer.

Some of my other favorites.

Tom and Jerry.

Scooby Doo (especially the New Scooby Doo mysteries that had Batman, Don Knotts and the Harlem Globetrotters to name a few)

Pink Panther

Flitstones

Jetsons

Most of the old Hanna Barbera cartoons - Snaggletooth, Yogi Bear, Top Cat etc

Richie Rich (came out in the 80's but you guys prob consider this "oldies" lol)

I enjoyed all the cartoon oldies as a kid besides Tom and Jerry because it just came off as a bit awkward to me and I don't find that kind of humor in that cartoon funny. Some Oldies I miss watching though are Looney Tunes, Hey Arnold, Dexter's Laboratory, and Johnny Bravo. I used to be that "one" not so awkward kid that didn't find Pink Panther entertaining.

I like a lot of old shows since I pretty much had to watch a lot of them when I was younger. My favorite though would have to be He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, as well as Captain Planet.

Most of the Scooby Doos, though Scooby Doo "Movies" was often just meh. I loved Scooby Doo Where Are You though.

I used to enjoy The Flintstones and The Jetsons, but not anymore. Never outgrew Scooby though, but who does?

Oh and I also remember the Laugh-A-Lympics, but only vaguely from back when Cartoon Network used to show old cartoons late at night. It was decent as I recall.
