Back in middle school I didn't care a whole lot about my appearance. I just threw on whatever clothes I felt like and showered irregularly. The high school came and I realized to make an impression I had to start caring about my looks.

So I started showering daily and picking out what to wear tomorrow and I haven't looked back.

I always had a sense for how I looked. I tried to buy decent-looking clothes and bathed on a regular basis. Though my personal standards varied depending on my mood I always had a small bit of care for my appearances. Surprisingly it helps in getting friends and girls.

For me, it really varies. Some weeks all I wear is a hoodie, but on Thurday I wore a really dressy shirt with leggings and high heel boots. So for me, it depends on if I want people to look at me or not. Most days I don't lol. 
I've never been picked on for my appearance, but it's kinda pathetic that some people  pick on people for that in this world. 

Depends on how I'm feeling. If I'm really feeling myself, then I'll make sure to look my best. If it's just another casual day though, I'll just rock whatever I want... and whatever I want usually consists of a lot of nerdy things, which don't really get me any kind of negative attention, but yknow.

IStillSeeTheX : I think many people dress depending on their mood. I used to, but I've grown out of that habit since the start of 8th grade. I agree that it can help to get friends, but hopefully those friends aren't only friends with you because of your appearance. That's just silly

Today was the start of "spirit week" at my school so I dressed up for that, and it got me a lot more of positive attention than I usually receive. However, I think it was only because of my appearance so next week things should return to normal (which I don't mind since I already have a ton of true friends).

Makalya : Appearance in school/work doesn't matter (except for that it has to abide by the dress code). So I also find it ridiculous that so many people get teased for how they look. If you don't buy showy/expensive clothes and people pick on you for never doing that, oh well, you're saving money that could be used for more important things

Chromatic : I often wear nerdy shirts too and people don't give me negative attention either. That's weird XD Most of my nerdy shirts have math/science jokes on them so my teachers enjoy seeing me wear them.

Yeah, I  meant to say a better sense of fashion made me more approachable. In my experience, you could have the best personality in the world but its effect would be limited by poor style.

Spirit Week is great for attention and all that but besides its ostensible purpose (raising school pride), it's pretty meaningless in the long term.

IStillSeeTheX : That's true. I participate in spirit week to raise school pride, but it sometimes feels pointless when so few people are getting into the spirit. Most students are "too cool" for spirit week and just show up in their usual clothing style. :/

Heh, yeah I getcha. Though most of my "nerdy" things revolve around games and game characters (Specifically, Pikachu). Lots of my schoolmates (and even some adults lmao) throw some "Pika!"s and other fun comments. It's part of the reason why I don't wear my other clothes often.

Chromatic : I have a couple game shirts too but none of them fit me anymore so I never wear them XD I've gotten some fun Mario comments before but other than that my game shirts got completely ignored.

Honestly I'm satisfied with my school appearance in fact I was satisfied with my image even before I started making a effort to actually try to look nice. After all it is the least I can do because everybody attempts to look nice coming to school just for me. When I realized this I started feeling sympathy so I started trying to make a effort to do so.

Ehhhh. Not all too much. I wear the blandest cloths ever, and don't really work too much with my appearance. Every morning I wake up, put on whatever I can find, comb my hair, and off to school it is.

One of my friends likes to make fun of because of this, but I don't really care anymore, but sometimes it does hurt and makes me want to dress differently. 

I don't really like having to live to other people's standards, so I don't. 

Actually, I really do care for my appearance now it might be that I am insecure, but I really do try to look my best and be professional all the time. I like to come to school in a new style every day and every week (Suit, Ties, etc.) I mean I still get made fun of, but not as much as I used too for my appearance now I just feel better when I dress more nicely so it's kind of a thing. Like I get up an hour early every morning to brush, floss, shower, etc. Just to look good I guess.

I really don't care what people think of me. I have been judged, bettered, and insulted, yet I am still standing tall with confidence. The only troubles I have are with the girls, but I am more focused on my studies rather than social life, which has never really been my strong-suit, anyway.

If you want to make me feel bad, then you better be prepared for utter disappointed, because I am the Man of Steel when it comes to insults (Kryptonite aside lol).

I am more worried about fights than words, which have been somewhat common in my past, but as of recently, I have been a good little boy... Well, in public anyway. x3

I always tried to look my best, but I never really cared what others thought of me. If there was a girl I really liked or something, then I would care about trying to make a good impression with her. Beyond that, I had girls tell me I was cute all the time, so I was pretty confident about my looks. I even had a few different girls and their moms tell me I was the best looking guy out of our big group of friends. It was funny when one of them said it right in front of their husband, and he shot me a half-dirty look XD

It really depended on my mood on if I wanted to look pretty or not. When I care about my appearance, I would dress myself up in a dress, skirt, or nice shirt, and I would put on my bracelets or hair bows. When I didn't care, I just threw on a shirt, pants, and a jacket. Either way, I don't care about what people think, but when I do look good, I get complimented a lot.

AriaAngelDream : It's great that you get complimented for that. Most times I wear a funny shirt for the first time, hoping to impress people, no one notices XD When people do notice it's usually just the teachers. One time I wore a shirt with a math joke on it and my Algebra teacher complimented me on it.

I used to not care, back in middle school. Every day I woke up in the morning, threw jeans and a hoodie on, and went to school. Now, I make sure that I look presentable and all. So I definetely do care now, but still not to the point where I obsess over everything. My hair is the only thing I stress over at all, and then only when it gets long, since it becomes more difficult to manage.

I care very little about my appearance but i dont want to look like a fool. I at least put on something that matches, nothing fancy or over the top.

I don't care that much about my appearance at school. But over the years tbh I've started to care more and more :p.

Now I want to present myself as someone who wears good clothes that are clean, etc, but I don't care about looking perfect. I just want to look a little cute, and that's about it.
