Jordanv78 : it sounds like the daughter told her mother that she got drunk with a famous hockey player and possibly slept with him. The mother then tried to get the daughter to call it rape and launched this attack on Kane. It didn't go as well as they hoped and the daughter eventually got tired of cooperating. That's how I expect it happened anyway

Still, I'm a bit shocked at how strong of a start Kane has had. He's been tearing it up.

I'm looking forward to the game too. Flames seem to be a total hit or miss team. Either them play great and can beat teams like Washington that are doing great so far or they get destroyed by Colorado. Still, I'd be okay with Calgary having 1 more weak season as they continue rebuilding. Get another top 5 draft pick and maybe shed a few older players at the trade deadline as rentals and then move from there. Honestly, Calgary needs to figure out who their goalie is going to be for the next 3-5 years if they are going to stand any chance of actually competing.

Jordanv78 : Oops! My bad! I thought, because of the media attention, he was left out to clear the misunderstanding. Pretty great then that it all got sorted out and he continued to shred the goals. I do not follow as much what is going on the west part of the league. My bad for it.

As for Colorado, they beat pretty bad the Canadiens. 6-1. Ouch! Haha. The game was decided after 2 goals from McKinnon, in the same 15 seconds length (13 to be exact). I was just confused on how that happened so fast from the same player, haha! Reto Berra did a great job for Colorado.

13 straight games with a point
7 straight games with a goal. That's what sort of crazy run #88 has been on. I was proud of the way the Hawks played tonight. Especially after playing the Blues on the road last night. Good to get a little momentum before going on a 6 game road trip out west.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=788613&navid=nhl:topheads

So, looks like Travis Hamonic wants to come to the Western Conference and specifically Western Canada.

That's a boon for whichever team gets him because he's a solid top 4 defenseman and adding him will help basically any of the teams he listed he wanted to go to. Not sure if Calgary would want him considering the excessive number of defense they already have but Edmonton could use him as well as Vancouver. It'll be interesting to see how that one plays out.

I find it interesting that the Blackhawks had the EXACT SAME RECORD last year as they do this year going into the long November west coast "circus trip". They seem to be starting to gel a little bit more now that Keith, Hossa and Rozsival are all healthy. Especially Keith. The team just seems to be more efficient with him on the ice.

I feel like they are in good shape so far. It's a long season.

It's actually kinda funny how similar the seasons have been so far. If you remember Kane was in the MVP talk for most of the first half of the season. They he broke his collarbone in February and it kinda derailed that. Thankfully he came back in time for the post season, and we all know how that turned out.

With the way he's playing so far this year, I figure he HAS to be in serious contention if he's able to stay healthy. Even thought I can't see him continuing this crazy pace ALL season, who knows. He always seems to surprise me lol

Ouch.... so much for doing well on the Circus trip....

Calgary did a pretty good job shutting down Chicago and Vancouver (or should I say the Sedin's) lit you guys up.

Not that this means much. Kane kept his point streak going though which is awesome. I want him to break the record (I think it's 21 games) because there aren't tons of records that get broken anymore when it comes to scoring. Unless you count stuff like being the top scorer from a European country a "record" Even with Ovechkin getting a record like that I don't see him topping the goal scoring chart. He'll be top 10 for sure (that's only 685 which is about 200 more goals) but I don't see him hitting 900 to pass Gretzky. That's 50 a year for basically the rest of his career and I don't see that happening. Still, he's the only player since Gretzky to be a good enough scorer to actually break that record.

If the Hawks would have won that game against LA, I would say it would have been a GREAT circus trip, but they let a couple games slip away at the end. 3-1-2 isn't the worst, but could have been better.

I think the thing that hurt them the most was playing the back to back against the Ducks and the Kings. Both rough teams and both games going into OT.

Kane took the record for a US born player point streak, now he just has to pass Hull's team record 21. I could see him maybe getting to 30, but the sky's the limit with how he's playing right now. I would have to say that he has to be among the early favorites for the Hart. Hopefully he can stay healthy as he was playing great last year too before the injury kept him out of the last couple months of the season.

This is what I hate about Calgary. Some days they don't show up at all and against teams they should be beating and then when a team like Dallas or Chicago come to town they manage to sneak out a win when they shouldn't have. So inconsistent

Kane is 1 game away from tying the franchise record for most games with a point in a row. I doubt he'll ever match Gretzky (53 games I believe) but that doesn't make his streak any less impressive. To score in 20 straight games in the league the way it is now is a huge accomplishment.

Kaner was the #1 star of the month in the NHL for the month of November. Well deserved! No one has been hotter to start this season.

He needs 2 more points to move past the Golden Jet for longest point streak by a Blackhawk. I'm hoping he gets past that but it's still been a great accomplishment either way.

I really could see him getting to 30 games, but past that I'm not so sure. Gretzky's 55 point streak is just ridiculous to think about passing in today's NHL. Heck, even getting past Lemieux's 46 game streak is gonna be crazy difficult. Gretzky also had streaks of 20, 30, and 39. Only Sundin and Lemieux have streaks of 30 or more and all of those were in the 80's and 90's.

Well, I don't normally like double-posting but I've waited several days and no one has posted in here....but I just HAD TO post about Kane passing the Golden Jet for the longest point streak in Blackhawks history at 22!!! He waited all the way till the end of the game to get his point, but it wound up being pretty poignant that he set up an empty net goal for Panarin at home to set the record. Was a great scene. The ovation he got was electric!

It's gonna be really fun to see how far he can take it. Like I said before, I think he can reach the 30 plateau...but you never know what's going to happen. Especially with how hard it is to keep streaks like this going in today's NHL. The next opportunity to extend the streak is tonight at the United Center vs the Preds. Actually this week is strange as they play the preds 2x and the Jets again. So lots of the same opponents over the past week.

Jordanv78 : yeah, I haven't had much to post about recently. I haven't seen a game in a while now and have only been taking a glance at results and standings.

I have been watching Kane closely though. I'm amazed at how well he is doing. I did see a comparison to him (and Crosby I believe) having streaks above 20 and the average goals per game are around 2.6 and when Gretzky, Lemieux, Jagr etc. had their streaks the goals per game were 3.5 or higher which makes it even more impressive that he has been able to do it.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about double posting.... it's basically been you and me the whole time in this thread anyway

I'm excited to see tonight if Kane can extend his streak to 24 games! He made it 23 the other night on an open net goal at the end of a solid win at home against the Preds. Hawks have to play them again tonight! So it should be fun.

What made the game on Tuesday so awesome is that Kane also got his 600th career point and he's only played 604 career games in the NHL. Pretty gaudy statistics, I must admit!

Jordanv78 : he's gotten lucky a few times now in getting a point at the end of the a game on an empty net goal or overtime.

Still, a streak this long is just as much about skill as it is luck. There were a few times he got a point where he really shouldn't have or had almost nothing to do with it.

Either way I want him to pass Crosby's 25 or 29 game streak from a few years back so that Kane is the only person in the last 20 years to have a streak longer than 30.

Sometimes that happens when you need to get a point at the end of a game. Although I disagree that he's gotten points with plays he didn't have much to do with. I watch most games, and only a few times has he gotten a second assist.

I do admit though that the last two points have been fortunate, for sure. His 600th point on the empty net goal the other night especially.

Crosby's streak was 25 in 2010, so Kane is certainly close.

Well this game hasn't started out well for the Hawks. Preds seem to have their number so far and the deficit is now 3-0 after 1 period. At least that will give Kane the opportunity to extend his streak and stay aggressive with his shot.

Jordanv78 : there was a five-hole shot that he got a few games ago that was pure luck. The shot was terrible and any goalie in the NHL should have saved it.

Regardless he has gotten lucky in keeping the streak going. There are other games where he's gotten 3 or 4 points and has dominated. I doubt any streak beyond 5-10 is managed with some luck involved.

Was cool to see him get another goal last night, even though the Hawks played pretty poorly overall. It was a great Goal. Kane could have scored at least one other goal, but Rinne had a pretty good game and stopped several nice chances from a couple of different Hawks chances.

He sits at 24 and is still going strong! Even The Great one talked about how hard it is in todays NHL. He also said that if Kane gets close to his streaks that he would start going to the games. Some added motivation I guess.

I still think he can get past 30, but I'm not sure much beyond that. If anyone can do it though, it's him.

I agree that sometimes you need a little "luck" to get a long point streak going. I was just saying that the majority of his points during this streak have been hard earned.

Another night and another point.

Again though, this point had nothing to do with him. He was barely involved in the goal.

Still, can't be sad that he has passed Crosby's streak.

It was nice to see him get 26. Longest streak in the NHL since Sundin in 92-93. A great accomplishment. Sure he was the secondary Assist on that goal early, but if you look at that play in the zone leading up to that, Kane was a big reason that chance was set up to get to Panarin for the shot that he wound up getting his own rebound, then moving it over to Keith. Actually Kane had a nice opportunity right before that play developed.

I was also glad to see Crawford get #1 star of the week in the NHL last week. 3-0 with back to back shutouts. 66 straight saves so far!

Hawks have the Avs at the UC tonight. Two teams each carrying their own streaks into the game. Should be interesting!

And the streak is over. I'm sad and I'm not. It was nice that he broke Crosby's record but I don't know how much more interested I was going to be in it after that. I knew he wasn't going to get to 50+ so it could have ended today or 10 games from now and not meant much more to me.

Also, Calgary won a tight game in OT. They are now 1 point out of a playoff spot after being 14th in the West not more than 2 weeks ago. The west is REALLY close from 7th to 14th with only 4 points separating all those teams. I don't know how much longer that can last but for right now it's pretty awesome. The West is wide open for who could make the playoffs.

Yeah on one hand, I'm pretty sad that the streak is over for him. It's been fun. Would have really been nice if he could get to 30, but it wasn't meant to be. On the other hand it's probably a relief for him to have it over and to just focus on playing his game again.

For some reason the Avs have given the Hawks a rough time the past couple seasons. They just seem to play well in the UC. Which is strange because I think we won both games in Denver last year but lost the home games.

Hopefully Kane can keep his MVP momentum going. Last year he started off on a crazy tear as well, but then broke his collarbone in like February or March and was out till the playoffs. So hopefully he can stay healthy and start another streak here soon.

Interesting to see that the Hawks traded Daley for Scuderi. I knew they had been shopping Daley because of how well some of the Hawks young defenders had played while Keith was out but didn't see them taking back the same money and an extra year. He's got Cup experience though, so that's good. Probably a guy easy to trade towards the trade deadline if needed too. Bowman always seems to have something up his sleeve, so I always bow to his wisdom lol
