I use firefox myself so I was wondering why do SO many people love chrome to death??? From the little bit of chrome I have used (which was on very slow broken laptops) firefox is FAR better. Chrome was slower... not as nice looking interface and just did not run well.
I have used it a little not broken laptop Firefox was still a little bit faster. So why do SOO many people use chrome?

People like Chrome because its better really. I only used Firefox when I absolutely had to, and even after I used Microsoft's new browser, I tried that out for a few days and it was awesome but I ended up going back to Chrome in the end. The browser itself is easier to use, especially with things like bookmarks and tabs, and most of the time Chrome is much faster.

Well according to speed-battle.com firefox is faster then my chrome (this is my non-broken laptop) I did have malware so I reinstalled it but firefox still beat it. And for tabs to me firefox is better but  think that it varies on the person. If anyone wants to help me out and do that test can you tell me your results and the bigger the better for the results.

Snorp02 : It probably is on the person then, when I click on the Firefox icon, it takes 5 seconds just for the browser to pop up and another 2-3 seconds for each page to load while Chrome loads pages in like half a second.

so yes while firefox and chrome is equal in almost everything but when it comes to plugins and security chrome wins. Also chrome offers a lot more stuff than firefox which is much more valuable than a universal speed test.

I don't really care about theme customization, so there goes firefox's only solid win over chrome.
Firefox to me feels clunky and bloated with unnecessary things, while chrome has a simple, well-designed and smooth interface. Add to that that I'm also partly a web developer (and partly a software developer) and chrome offers "better" plugins and tools for us developers. If you ask around the IT industry, you'll see that the majority of us use Chrome as our primary browser and like developing for chrome rather than for firefox. I think Chrome has been more elegantly designed and developed to cater individuals who like to have an easy-to-use, fast and simple browser, and also for us developers who cringe every time we see a convoluted piece of coding.

But then again, you're free to use whatever you prefer. If you're more used to firefox than chrome, then it's probably best for you to use firefox. So long as it's not Internet Explorer, lol.

For The few times I used Firefox, I found The configuration not to be user friendly. Unless it changed dramatically, I just found Firefox to have its configuration messed up; it is SO MUCH easier to find your bookmark's, options and extensions with Chrome.

I find Chrome to be easier to navigate and from every experience I've had with every computer I've ever been on, Firefox has been slower than Chrome. I like that you can have your browser data on any computer by signing into Chrome with your Google account.

Also, with Chrome you can have apps for your browser on an Apps screen such as Gmail, Google Docs, and games like Angry Birds Space. With the Apps screen, you can find all your favorite Google features faster and find good Chrome-compatible games faster.

Those are probably the main reasons why so many people love Chrome.

Chrome just has a more sleek simple appearance whereas Firefox is just cluttered with extra stuff that is mostly unnecessary. The only reason I use chrome is that it allows me to browse and test games more smoothly than if I were to use Chrome instead. Other than that, Chrome is more user-friendly and easier to access bookmarks, favorites, etc. On Firefox, it would probably take you a good 2-3 minutes just to find out how to close a window, let alone bookmark a page. Nothing is wrong with liking Firefox, as long as you aren't using Internet Explorer, I don't think anyone cares about the browser you use. If it fulfills your needs, then that is all that matters.

 I'm using Firefox right now, but only because I have the intention of testing some games.

Firefox is the browser I use most of the time, but in my experience, Chrome is a lot faster and smoother with media (YouTube videos, Twitch streams, etc.). On my laptop, which is pretty slow, I actually have to use Chrome to watch live streams at all, because in Firefox I get about 2 frames per second. Not an exaggeration. My desktop is a bit better, but it's still not very nice using Firefox for streams because it still drops quite a few frames, while I don't drop any frames using Chrome. Also, because Chrome is a Google product, that means it runs Google's websites, like YouTube and Google Maps, a lot better than Firefox.

Guy A. Person : Yes, compatibility! It was most useful for that short contract I had far away from home and from where I could not use my own computer. Fortunately the computer had Chrome so I was able to access all my bookmarks.

I can tell you that I'm in the same boat as you, I don't get why people love Chrome. I mean, I use Firefox and I'm very happy with it and it does everything I need it to, so why would I need Chrome?

Ugh. I do not know what is the matter in translation, but they seem to have a Firefox fetish. Chrome works just fine for On-screen editing (OPE) and I never ran into major problems.

Firefox is just a Chrome Clone since version 4.0.

I love Chrome. I too started off being a Firefox user, but stopped a few years back when Firefox had that nasty memory leak with regards to Adobe Flash. From there on out I realized that Chrome was far and above what most other browsers I used did.

The main thing is that I like all my google services to be linked between my PC, my tablet and my Phone. All my tabs, history, google documents, email etc are all in one place and easy for me to access no matter where I am or what device I'm using.

I also first had Firefox for a little while before switching to Chrome. Here's why..

For the start up, it normally takes my 3 seconds for Chrome to load up and around 10 seconds for Firefox to load up
For performance, it's better for Chrome because you got like a million add-ins for Firefox.
And security is about the same although Chrome is a tiny bit better.

Also don't think Chome is 100% better than anything because..
You can customize your web browser with layouts, and I do like that.
And there is things you can do on Firefox that you can't do on Chrome.

I more like to use Google Chrome just because it's faster on my PC... And i can assure you: I have a lot of trash on my PC. I did clean it up, but not enough it seems...

You're going off your bad experiences with it so I understand why you would end up liking another browser more, but at the end of the day, chrome is still better in my eyes and the eyes of everyone else. I hate Firefox, it's filled with ads and speed, well the slowest browser I've come across is explorer. Chrome and Firefox pretty much has the same speed, but Firefox always has too many ads and every time it get it back, the ads get worse over time like always.
