For two days now (and it seems to be increasing daily) I have excruciating lower-back pain. As in I feel like I have a steel rod running down my back because I am so stiff. I could barely do sit ups today because it was too painful.

The culprit is probably a leg exercise I did on Tuesday, but never before have I had such pain, at least not since I dropped that barbell because I lost my balance while squatting. My guess is it is that glute kicking machine, which I have never used before. Even ground-level dealifts (starting and ending of The ground rather than starting higher) never give me such pain.

To relieve lower-back pain, I usually do The "cat-camel" exercise with which I can stretch my lower back, but it does not seem affective at The moment. I tried doing "inverted situps" (where you can move your lower back 180 degrees while being inclined) but I am still in pain.

Any tricks to relieve lower back pain (exercise, postures, etc.)? That would be most helpful.

janus : Maybe sitting straight up for long periods of time will fix lower back pain or maybe even some yoga positions.
Here is a picture of sitting straight up and then how most people sit: https://knoji.com/images/user/sitting%20RW(1).jpg

happiness7 : Oh, posture is rarely a problem for my lower back. It did cause me pain, but in the upper back; it even caused my headaches as if someone pulled my hair from the inside. I went to see a doctor, and the FIRST thing she asked me was about posture.

As for the pain: standing up seems to have solved the problem. I need to buy a stand-up desk soon.
