I am currently reading the Necronomicon Commemorative Edition. It's an interesting book that is grouping many of the small stories that Howard Philips Lovecraft wrote during the time that he was alive. If you like horror(kind of) stories, I'd recommend reading this book.

Currently reading the Art of War, the oldest military treatise in the world. Written by Sun Zi, but you will often see his name written like this : Sun Tzu. It's a book about how a general should lead a battle or, in general, an army.

Recently, I found a book one of my friends was reading called Abandon by Meg Cabot (author of The Princess Diaries ). So far, the story seems creepy and weird  so if it doesn't get any better soon, this may be the last book I read from that series.

We're currently reading To Kill a Mockingbird at school. and it's pretty entertaining. My favorite part so far is the court case (which is the part we're actually at right now). I might be biased toward what my favorite part is because I like watching court cases cause i want to be a prosecutor.

Recently, I have been reading a book called Feng Shui Made Easy by William Spear. So far, I've been enjoying the book quite a bit (even though I'm only halfway through the book) because it also has illustrations that demonstrate how one could arrange furniture, items like paintings, and gardens, etc. The page I'm on has been talking about how certain areas of the house carry a "more intense charge of one type of energy." Before that, it mentioned something called a bagua, symmetry and the placement of front doors. I get the feeling that after I finish this random book I picked up, I'm going to start looking for more books about feng shui, to better understand how some of my friends view houses and stuff (some of them believe that having good feng shui helps to improve just about every aspect of their lives). =)

I am reading Bazaar Of Bad Dreams,a short story collection by Stephen King, some decent stories so far,the first story called Mile 81 was pretty interesting about a killer car that lures it's victims to an abandoned rest stop, only Stephen King could write something that sounds ludicrous but is actually good

I've been working over Harry Turtledove's "Rulers of Darkness" series. It's a good read because he has a series of books following an alternate universe but mimicking World War II. The story lines follow a dozen different characters in different parts of the world that are fighting and they run into each other on occasion. It's also set in a fantasy-fiction style world, so instead of fighters and bombers, men fly dragons loaded with 'eggs' which are bombs, or dragons flame each other instead of dog fighting.

Behemoths, huge armored animals with crew served weapons, are used instead of tanks and artillery pieces.

Even the soldiers themselves have 'sticks' that fire beams of magic, not rifles with bullets and ammunition.

There's intrigue, there's political maneuvering, there's combat, and strategy and it's extremely well-written. I can blast through all five books in a few months and I do it every few years. It's a great series, lots of fun, and makes you pay attention and think about the story.

Since I'm one of those people that start on multiple books at once, I started reading another book called The Edge of Disaster: Rebuilding a Resilient Nation, by Stephen Flynn. So far, this nonfiction book about how we should be responding to disasters and fighting terrorism seems to be okay although it may be considered a tad bit dated by now, since it was written in 2007.

Checking my Kindle library for what books I have been reading, I've mainly been reading LitRPGs, especially the entire Play to Live data of seven books - AlterWorld, The Clan, The Duty, Inferno, The Battle, The War and finally The Ultimation - and a few others, including Chronicle of the Eternal, Vol. 1.

But I also have the first four books in the Jack West Jr. saga - Seven Ancient Wonders, Six Scared Stones, Five Greatest Warriors and Four Legendary Kingdoms - and I will admit they are... Well, they tell of the challenges of Jack West Jr., who is kinda like a modern day Indy, but taking on challenges which have the very fate of the world at stake.

Yay, I get to bump another thread!

Anyway, before my vacation I finished reading NERDS 4: The Villain Virus by Michael Buckley. I thought this wasn't as good as the past 3 books in the series, but maybe the 5th one that I start reading tonight or tomorrow will manage to top the 3rd one, my favorite so far.

Since I took a recent decision to read more books this summer, expect me to post a lot in this thread. A book that I'm currently tackling is L'esclave de Pompei by Annie Jay. One of my friends bought it for me because I told her that I want to read more books to improve my vocabulary in french and in other languages as well (also the fact that I told her I wanted to read my favorite book again which we had to read it for french class 2 years ago, she said that she would lend me some books that are similar to it). I will also hopefully buy the entire book series of Harry Potter for J.K Rowling. Since I watched all the movies with Drew this year, I want to expand my knowledge of Harry Potter even more, and that is via the books. I can't argue with a Harry Potter fan since I haven't read the books yet .

I began reading L'esclave de Pompei yesterday, and so far I'm having a good start on it because on the first page the author describes every character of the story, which is VERY good for me since I'm a very detail oriented person and who loves to receive directions. I won't be surprised if at one point I come across a sudden new character while reading the book, because I'll simply have to check the first page for some basic info about the character

Last night I began reading what I think is the final book in the NERDS series: #5 Attack of the BULLIES. By the way, BULLIES is an acronym. I don't like rushing my reading, but it's a library book and it's due in 3 days so I have to squeeze in several chapters a day inbetween my other hobbies and events I have going on.

I'm currently reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. It's not bad actually, so I'm fine with reading it over the summer for school. It is a pretty deep book though, and it gives you feels, but not like when your favorite character dies in a show or game.

I'm currently reading The Name of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. At first, it seemed like an odd book choice for an English Composition class, but I am really enjoying it thus far. It's told in a story within a story format (similar to The Arabian Nights) which is interesting and vital to the understanding and progression of the plot. I'm only 30 chapters in (it's a 92 chapter book), but I'll probably end up reading ahead and possibly buying the sequel.

SacredShadow : I read that book not too long ago and loved it! I haven't gotten around to reading the sequels yet but I really enjoyed the first one. It is definitely a different way to tell the story and I quite enjoyed that aspect.

I'm currently reading Bag of Bones by Stephen King. I'm not a giant fan of his books but I came across this one and decided to give it a try. So far it is bordering on being 2 different genres and I can't tell which one it is going to end up being.

zanderlex : nope. I didn't know it was a mini-series. I had never heard of the book before I found a copy of it. I only picked it up because it was by Stephen King. I might check it out after reading the book. Although it will probably pale in comparison just like most Stephen King movie adaptations end up being.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
