In another thread I made, I told the story of my school money and that I bought a gift card so I could go to this book store and get a bunch of books. Turns out, going to this book store was actually quite an adventure so I decided to talk about what happened.
The first day, I got a $50 gift card and I spent it and went back the next day with a $100 card, in total I spent about $120 on 14 books which means I spent on average under $10 per book which is pretty good. I did pay a lot though for books that I either needed or really wanted.
I bought 3 books for school, which were two graphics novels Maus, and a book on neuroscience, which were $15 each. I also bought a graphics novel called Seconds which I just heard about a few days before and I really wanted it. They had a stack of copies in the new books section for $22.50, but it turns out there were two copies alone in the graphic novel section which I found on accident and one of them was $15 so I got that one.
I also bought a bunch of 39 Clues books, my favorite series. I bought the final book of the 1st and 2nd series, the 1st 2 books of the 3rd series, which are the 2 newest ones, and a side book. I bought the 1st 2 of the 3rd series so I could read them once I finish the last boom of the 2nd series. I have that book, signed by the author from more than a year ago but could never get my hands on the one before that so I've been unable to continue the series.
Book 1 of series 3 Mission Titanic was the most expensive of the 39 Clues books that I bought and was almost $12. All the others were $6.50 or cheaper, even the one that came out after that one, Mission Hindenburg.
I also bought Memory Maze, book 2 of the Hypnotists series for $6. It's by the same guy who wrote my signed copy of the 39 clues book and I bought the 1st Hypnotists book at the same time and had that signed as well.
If you thought the books couldn't get any cheaper, well that's a lie because the rest of the books were all the cheapest. I bought a special copy of The Maze Runner. The books were normally $10-13, but they had a special book that had the 1st two books in 1 for just $18 which is a pretty good discount. However, among all the dozen copies, i found 1 that was just $10, which was great.
The last 3 books are possibly the best. I got a paperback copy of The Half Blood Prince and a paperback copy of Divergent, which both had bad back covers, and a mint condition hardcover copy of Insurgent for just $4.
Thus store literally is a readers heaven, better than any book store you could go to. I would have had them shipped but I didn't want to wait.
