Hello everyone I don't think I have seen any thread of this being made, so I went ahead to make one. Does anyone apart from me watches magical girl anime? Ones such as sailor moon, cardcaptors, precure etc. If so what do you think of it and do you enjoy it or not? Or maybe who is your fav character on there, please explain why you like it.

I like some of them. It depends on how overly cute and girlie they make the characters. I loved cardcaptors. But could never get into sailor moon. I watched pretear though which was good too. I really liked that one even more than cardcaptors.

As long as it ia funny I'll watch it. Or if its emotional. I watched a couple episodes of Cardcaptor Sakura and PreCure but not enough to form an opinion. My first anime ever was Ojamajo DoReMi when I was 4 or 5 and Puella Magi Madoka is the only other Magical Girl anime I remember watching off the top of my head. Unless you count Demas***aa! Powerpuff Girls Z in which case it was really good too.

The Star of Music : Cardcaptors is a great anime to watch and to see. Its cute funny and I love the romance that's in there between sakura and Li best cute couple ever!  also I love pretear! its another amazing anime to see. I can understand why some people couldn't get into sailor moon its not for everyone. ^^
 
scarlot : oh my goodness! I watched that anime too! But I watched the dub version called magical doremi I loved the songs there and how it portrayed. I'm not much of a fan of puella maki madoka but it was a nice one to see. I am a big fan of preure. Did you not like precure or the anime was not for you?

Eniitan : I watched the dub too. I am rewatching slowly (like one or two episodes a week right now) and when I get done I'm gonna watch the rest. I didn't keep watching PreCure because I was watching it on my tablet when it broke and I just haven't started watching it again yet. I normally watch a couple anime at one time. (I'm watching about 5 or six right now). If you checked out my profile on Myanimelist.net you would see a bunch of titles that I watched just the first few episodes of to see if I liked them or not then I bookmark them to finish them for later. PreCure was one of those. I'll probably go back and watch it when I finish some of my current series though.

I remember that character from Popo-Tan that was acting like a magical girl and she walways said this one line that I still remember.

"Picohan Magical Parallel Magical Ray" (I think I spelled that right)

I'd definitely have to go with Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

It's entirely different from basically every magical girl anime. It took more of a dark approach to it.

The characters were also developed very well considering it's only 12 episodes. The story was great as well. I suppose you could say the only reason I watched a magical girl anime is because it's essentially not your average magical girl anime.

I watch some adult oriented anime, so I am not sure if I should post here.  I don't watch the hentai stuff, but the ecchi stuff can be pretty good some times.  I will say that I liked the first Tenchi Muyo movie and the series was ok.  Girls Bravo was a really good one, as was Rosario Vampire.  Sekirei was really good and all the Ikkitousen series were amazing.

scarlot : I see....I now understand what you mean I do hope that you get to watch precure again when you have the time. I mean there are loads of them you can watch now.

I don't have too much experience with them but I'd probably have to go with Cardcaptor Sakura, not necessairly because it's the best, but I have a lot of nostalgia for it since it was one of the few animes they used to air on the Swedish public service kids channel  (which is the only kids channel I had because we couldn't afford channels like Cartoon Network or Disney Channel at the time) along with Kaleido Star and probably a few others I forgot long ago.

I have some pretty foggy but still nice memories watching it both on my own and with my best friend at time right after school when we were in like 4th/5th grade or something as he was a big anime fan, it was essentially my first experience watching subbed anime as up until that point I only watched standard stuff like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade etc which was dubbed, even if I never followed either of them religiously. Still a big reason I eventually looked more into anime and discovered many other shows like Bleach and Naruto. I should probably catch up on them eventually for old times sake.

I remember, back in time, seeing some Sailor Moon episodes. They were included in the pack after school in our local kids channel, with Dragon Ball Z, Detective Conan and more that I cannot remember right now. I think Cardcaptor Sakura was added to the list eventually, and I also remember Inuyasha, but it's all very blurry in my memory.

Besides that, I don't think I've bumped into any other anime of that kind, unless you count Ranma 1/2, who was technically a girl with magical powers

lordbelial669 : KissxSis and To Love RU Darkness are overly hilarious, even if they flirt with excessive ecchi sometimes my stomach hurts from laughing at every episode.

EX Palen :   I have seen them both, and they were pretty good.  Rosario Vampire was awesome and Angel Beats was great too.  I tend to like the more ecchi style of anime, be it boobs or blood and gore like Berserk or Hellsing or Jormungand.

Magical girl anime? I think Sailor Moon is really the only "magical girl anime" I've ever seen. That show was one of my favorites growing up, though. I can't really think of any others...

The only other one that comes to my mind is Claymore, my MOST favorite anime. But its not really about magical girls. Its more about talented or agile girls...well, women. Women warriors, actually. I guess there's really nothing magical about them at all except for the fact that many of them can move around really fast, so nevermind
