you got to understand that modding a game does not require you to code. people are not allowed to mess with the game's code in the first place, the only reason people mess with minecraft is because the owner allow it to happen. also most importantly you got to learn how 3d art works, you cant expect a bunch of code to do the work. lastly not all mods work on all computers, so ya it works on you but not for everyone, testing it on other computer system is require.

Depending on legal matters and what it is you want to do, it's possible that Java (or any programming language) might not be all you need. But may I ask, are you certain Java is the correct language for MineCraft? Are you maybe thinking of Javascript?
