Fear the walking dead is starting off a little boring. Almost like a soap then a horror series. Okay it is the start and the out break is just starting but come on it's the walking dead. I guess it wants to be a little different but your in LA where are the gangs? Maybe it still needs sometime so I'll keep watching. |

mrfe : maybe.... maybe the cops all know what is going on but aren't allowed to tell anyone so they are quietly getting ready for a long term problem. Maybe they aren't even thinking years but the next few weeks and want to be stocked up to handle it....
rebelyell : that's fair. It is a slower start than Walking Dead but that's because the outbreak is just starting. I doubt it'll stay this slow going forward. The outbreak seems to be really getting going now and things are going to start falling apart. Plus, there is more to these kinds of shows than just action zombie killing moments. I imagine there would be a lot more downtime than zombie killing once things really fell apart. rebelyell : that's fair. geeogree : The cops have been involved in every incident we know of (excluding the one at the river), so it'd make sense that they'd know the most. If I knew just how bad it was, I'd be fully prepped too lol.
I honestly don't mind the slower episodes. To me, the story is just as important as the action. AMC has done a great job with both aspects, even if it is a little imbalanced at times. Based on your information, I feel so lost from the Walking Dead. I haven't watched it since after the end of Season 4. Has the show really progressed that far to the point of me getting lost? Dang it, I need to catch up on this show! Thanks for the Thanks for the |

mrfe : honestly that's why I was so excited about a show compared to movies. Most zombie movies are too fast paced to really get into anything more than a very basic story.
With these 2 shows we get to see real people dealing with what will become the "new normal" in these kinds of situations. I really like it that way. ghostfishy : This is a NEW show that is a spin-off from Walking Dead. It goes back to when the outbreak first happened in LA instead of Atlanta. It's a totally different cast now. With these 2 shows we get to see real people dealing with what will become the "new normal" in these kinds of situations. geeogree : agreed, and that was the main reason I disliked World War Z. Sure, it was a unique and dramatic way to capture the idea of a zombie apocalypse, but it didn't have the time it needed to develop. It was doomed to fail before it even released, simply because of the time it'd take to really get into all aspects of the story.
The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead are the only two shows/movies about zombies I've ever enjoyed. Both are fantastic, and I'm crying as I attempt to wait for next week's episode lol. mrfe : well, I categorize zombie movies into 2 groups....
You have World War Z and a lot of the other American style zombie movies which are fast paced and have a lot of gore and gross out moments. Then you have stuff like 28 days/weeks later and both Walking Dead shows which spend a lot more time looking at the people and situations that would arise in these end of the world scenarios. I find this 2nd group more interesting to watch but I still enjoy the first kind with the understanding that I'm getting a violent gore filled movie rather than something overly intelligent. So this is basically The Walking Dead: LA. Kinda interested since with the original series it's set in the Down South where people can adapt in the country life so their a little more prepare while this show is set in LA where it's more city life. |

I can't wait until Sunday. I'm off work on Sunday so I will be able to watch the 3rd episode of fear the walking dead. I was kind of disapppointed when we had to wait 2 weeks for the 3rd episode though.... although I am really enjoying the series though. Only a couple of more days |

I'm hooked to the show. I can understand if some people feel a little underwhelmed by it for now though. I was talking to some co-workers about the show and some of them feel like the first 2 episodes seem boring and slow, and I was explaining to them that they need to be patient on it and that it is suppose to go quite slow in the beginning. I have faith that as the situation gets worse, it will start to pick up the pace. I am still enjoying it now though. |

Fear the Walking Dead Ep. 3
So far not much to talk about. Just a bit of carry over from last episode. Whoa, building is on fire. Not a surprise but a good way to force them out of the building. Interesting about how all the chaos is hiding the people being turned from bites. Won't take long for that to sprial out of control as 1 becomes 2, 2 becomes 4, 4 becomes 8 and so on. Pretty good opening scene. HAHAHA, monopoly! Awesome. So very "normal". Playing a game to pass the time while things are raging out of control. Such an neat contrast. I'm a bit surprised that they haven't been attacked or anything while trying to get away from all the violence. Oh, that's why. Something more drastic happened. Also, their truck would be destroyed by now with all the rioting but sure. It didn't take any damage Ooooh, gunshots. Ominous. Killed the mood completely. Deja vu? Maybe they played Monopoly when the dad died? That hospital is probably the first place that fell to infection. Makes sense. Just a bit shocking to see it being attacked/surrounded by police. Still a good shock. People think to go to a hospital to get help but to see it become dangerous would be tough. And there goes the power.... city just blacked out. Oooooh... the dog is hurt. Or maybe not hurt. And now they are outside in the dark with zombies wandering around. Good idea! And now they are in somoene else's house.... no chance of anything bad happening here. I feel so tense right now! Ugh, double barrel? That's no good in a situation like this. Better than nothing but I'd take something that can hold more shells than just 2 at a time. Just go out there! You saw him coming and you couldn't get there in time to warn him? Useless! When will people learn? Just knock them over and run away! And now Alicia is off on her own. Good job! Gross! There you go! At least that guy has the right idea. Is no one going to ask who that guy was? Half those people don't know who that was. Well that was dramatic. I'm always shocked at how long it takes for people to finally admit what is going on instead of dancing around the issue. People are eating other people and they are insane/deranged and they won't just admit it. Just the old guy admits it I guess. He's the only one who seems to get it. And maybe the drug addict guy. Everyone else is fooling themselves. I'm still feeling on edge and nothing is happening! Just a bunch of talking and not moving. I know things have to settle for a bit but they need to get moving. I'm just waiting for something to happen to release the tension. Yay, daylight! Get going already! And kill the annoying neighbour! Oh, she might do it! Hopefully she will. I agree with the old guy. They are too weak. They're going to get killed being that nice. Something else is going to happen to force them to be tougher. Soon they won't have a choice at all. Wow, Alicia is dressed for survival! Not going to get bitten easily in those clothes There is still time for something to happen. I'm dying for something interesting to happen. I feel like this has been set-up enough and now it's time for things to really let loose. Whoa.... right through the head. That was a bit too convenient but at least something happened. There are so many things happening that I can't even cover them all. I'm bugged they didn't leave but interested in how the national guard (I'm assuming) is going to handle things. Again, good episode. Lots of stuff going on but still really early in the season for anything really major. Happy with how it is going overall though. Still pretty on edge waiting for something to happen. I feel like the episode was building towards something that never actually happened. So far not much to talk about. Wow the show is amazing so far with what has been happening and stuff. The end on episode 3 really got me to think will happen next since Daniel said that it is too late. I wonder what will happen? It seems like a decent show, that people may grow to like. I think I like this one better than the walking dead. I wasn't really feeling much of that one. ^^ but really as geeo said its taking them too long to realize the actual problem. So I kinda feel that they are on a slow start. you see something like a zombie run away! but really as geeo said its taking them too long to realize the actual problem. Eniitan : it sounds to me like the city is basically under quarantine now. The National Guard (or army or whatever they are) will restrict travel out of the city. I think that is what he meant. Now they are going to have to survive inside the city until things deteriorate enough that they can leave.
It only seems slow because we know where the story is going to go. Walking Dead seemed faster because it started after the outbreak was in full swing so you saw a LOT more zombies. I really love the pace this show is going at. As we discussed, I think the story is a HUGE part of any successful zombie show. That said, the show is progressing at a natural pace (in my opinion). If they sped it up, we'd feel cheated out of the emotional aspect of the show. The action will obviously pick up before long, but this is as important as the violence.
Still giving this show a 8/10. Still giving this show a 8/10. |

Fear the Walking Dead Ep 4
Interesting start to this episode. Another believable scenario. Army moves in to protect people. Exactly what you would expect would happen. Fences and guards and curfews. Sounds like everyone is dead outside the fence. Seems fast to have happened in only 9 days like they say. Army says they are winning the fight. I find that hard to believe. Seems like they are telling people that things are going well just to placate them. Interested to see where this goes from here though. This army guy seems like he is going to be the cause of a major problem. I'm tense watching this all go down. Not sure what this guy that Travis is talking to is going to do. They just keep having little things happen that seem to build the tension but so far nothing has happened. Every episode is like this it seems. Nick still creeps me out. Watching people through the fence. Wow.... stealing morphine from the guy who is dying. I've missed a whole bunch of the show but it seems like the crazy dude is either dead from the army guys or has turned. There is someone in that building for sure because of the night time light flashing. The doctor finally arrived (I knew she was coming from the cast list I put together) and that seems strange/interesting. Not sure if she is good or bad yet but I'm going to expect she'll end up on the good side soon enough if she's not. Now Maddie is outside of the fence and heading towards that building. This seems like a REALLY bad idea. And holy crap dead bodies everywhere! Grab the gun! You'll need it. Take the gun already! The doctor is being strangely accomodating to people. I'm curious why. It just seems sketchy. And Nick is SUPER sketchy still. And Alicia is giving herself a tattoo. That is creepy. Maddie and Daniel Salazar's conversation was interesting. Army killing ANYONE outside the fence in order to contain the infection. Logical but seriously scary. Nick is busted! Whoa! Totally deserved beat down in my opinion. Not going to solve anything but I don't blame her for getting pissed. Random visitor in the night.... ah, they are moving the mother of Ofelia. Whoa, Nick is getting taken too. That makes me suspicious of the doctor even more now. Not sure what her motivation is. And this is some major future contention if they all manage to end up back together later in the show. And now Travis saw the light.... and gunfire. I didn't like this episode as much as the last few. This one felt slower than the rest. I almost wish they had shown a bit more of the progress of setting up the fence and checking people for infection and what not. That would have made this episode more interesting. Still, lots of stuff going on with people being taken away and separated. I imagine the fence/blockade thing is going to fail pretty soon somehow. Not sure what it will be. Maybe there will be a large group of walkers that show up from downtown LA or something. Still loving the show but this episode was definitely more about setting up for future events. I also didn't write nearly as much while watching as I have before. I felt like a lot of what happened was not really plot progressing in a lot of cases. Not really worth talking about. Yeah I see what you mean geeo. They are still building up tensions before we can find out the missing pieces to the puzzles, and what not. Also making us to think as well based on what has happened in that episode. I agree nick has been acting rather creepy with some others as well. Maybe being caged in is getting to them making them to sound off or have this random behaviour. @.@ |

I for one did not like episode 4.... it wasn't just that it was slow it was there was so many things that happened and boom the show was over especially at a serious moment. Honestly I feel the way they ended episode 4 just upset me for some reason... I wonder why the doctor took nick and yep he is pretty creepy. I guess in all episode 4 was just way to slow for me. I liked Episode 1 2 and 3 though. Hopefully tonight's episode will be great. Though I won't get to watch it until I get home from work which will probably be after 11:30 :V |

Bintsy : yeah, this episode seemed a lot like a set-up episode for a lot of future stuff. People being taken away to an unknown location which most likely the group will end up traveling to once the compound they are in is no longer safe. I'm still not sure what is going to cause that though. Even if the army guys go away it still seems pretty safe to be in there. |
