I can't be the only one who has beef with the new games.

I have a few rants I'd like to let out with Generation VI. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who notices these things.

First and most importantly that I've noticed is the PC organization. Am I the only one who finds it annoying how Pokémon swap places instead of staying on the cursor? Because this new style of switching doesn't make anything easier except let me misplace that Sweet Scenter from that time I swapped it.

And evolution. It's kind of disappointing how the 3d models ruins the evolution animation. Even in BW[2] we got too little of a glimpse of what Pokémon was gonna come from the evolution. Remember back in RBY when the flashing evolution was practically a beautiful, ecstatic acid trip? We don't get that anymore in these new games. I was really amped to see some Ben 10 transformation type s*** here. And the worst part? Is that when I wanted a Sylveon, I couldn't see what my Eevee was evolving into and ended up with an Umbreon. Grrrr I wanted the bigger eyed fairy one, not this street cat (jk, umbreon's real cool in my book, but still)!

I just feel like there's so much lack of self-discovery in these games. Especially with ORAS, I was really hoping that they would do something about the unreasonable usage of Braille (I mean, there are Unown) but nope. I think we can all agree that deciphering that without a guide wasn't fun... especially when I was playing through ORAS in French for the fun of it.

Yo don't get me wrong, I'm still wallet-ready for the next Pokémon games, the DexNav is a great invention (it resparked my interest to catching em all) but that self-discovery is what I crave; that and the old PC format.

I am one of those guys that cares about all 6 generations. Sure, there is a few people out there like you that don't really like the 6th Generation (even a couple of them also don't like Gen 5), I am alright that others don't like a certain Generation which is cool.

To me, I know Generation V is better than the other generations, but that is judging by my opinion, even liking Gen V the best, that doesn't mean I don't like any others, I view all generations really good quality and gameplay for it's time.

I know that Game Freak is set to announce Pokemon Z at anytime, and then after that, heading into Generation VII the following year, and who knows, it could be better or it could be worse, we won't know till then.

I agree that quite a few of the new features added to the newer games take away from the whole challenging aspect of pokemon. For the most part however, I think the 3D graphics definitely enhance the gameplay and enjoyment (just my personal opinion). My only major gripe was that the elite 4 was simply too easy, by that point in the game you can already have a full team of high level 90-100 pokemon (with a little training at the LeWow restaurant). I remember when the elite 4 had level 80+ pokemon. Game Freak needs to bring that back, considering how easy it is to level grind in the newer games, the elite 4 should have pokemon higher than level 64.

Nonetheless, everyone is different. I'm partial to the new games, but the old ones are still a lot of fun as well. I hope that Gen VII will continue to deliver and impress me as much as the prior generations have.
