June 2013 - Screenshot Competition - Pokémon Trainer Cards

I have been wanting it to come back every year but it hasn't been. It's a super creative idea. To revive it though, we need to institute new rules so that the same people don't win all over again using the exact same trainer cards. I should point out that the 1st place finisher from June 2013 did use only original games but he is unlikely to repeat as he has not been active for the last 2 years. Most of the other high entries used mostly Pokémon hacks to achieve their high score. It is also Pokémon hacks that are used in the annual February Catch em All screenshot competition.

I've transcribed the rules from this competition and I will also suggest new ones.

In this competition, you will post your trainer card for every single "original" Pokémon game you've played. We will then sum up the Pokedex number of all your trainer cards and whomever has the highest combined number, wins. Your total money will be used in case of a tie.

The four MUSTs:

-The name you create MUST contain part of or all of your vizzed username (this will help us make sure it's really your submission). One character of similarity is not in any way sufficient.

-You MUST use the Vizzed RGR Plugin to take the screenshots.

-Your Trainer Cards MUST be to submitted to this thread, otherwise it won't count.

-The Screenshot you submit MUST be a screenshot you took with the RGR Plugin and the URL of the image has to be the same url of the image of the screenshot you took, you cannot upload your screenshot somewhere else and use that as your submission, you have to use the actual url of the images that were uploaded when you took the screenshots.

-You can submit as many screenshots of your Trainer Card but be sure to let us know which game each card is from.

-You can submit a trainer from the same game more than once but the one with the higher number is the one which will count; we prefer that you update your post with an updated version of your Pokémon card rather than make multiple posts with the Trainer Card from the same game.

NOTE: Use Native Saving if you want to be able to continue playing the game after the Elite 4. To do Native Saving, simply save within the game as if you were playing the game on a handheld. If you choose to use Save States, don't beat the Elite 4 otherwise the game will reset (save state is when you use F2 and F4 to load and save).

Suggested rules changes:

Pokémon hacks do not count. Only original games with a Pokedex number included on the Trainer Card. This means first generation Pokémon games will not be able to be used either.

NOTE: This new rule would kill 2 birds with one stone. Master Balls can be made abundantly available in Pokemon hacks and the first generation games by glitch as well. With nobody able to select certain games based on Master Ball output, that would not vend a clear advantage and remove the challenge of this proposed contest.

Tiebreakers:

In the very unlikely event that two or more top-ranked contestants finish with exactly the same combined Pokedex number, their total money from each screenshot will be totaled up and the one with the higher amount will take the higher place in the standings.

In the further even less likely event that two of those contestants remain tied in both their combined Pokedex number and their money total, their total elapsed play time will be added up and the one with the lowest sum of play time will be ranked higher.

Sounds good. If David doesn't want to make an official contest for this since he has others, we could always make an unofficial one for the fun of it.
