Ferdinand : the I-C belt was the belt to have until the late 90's when the heavyweight belt became more popular. In the 2000's it became kind of a joke to me. It used to be the platform that made future stars but recently it seems like something to give someone for no real reason.

So, Seth Rollins is injured. He is giving up the title immediately and there will be a tournament to crown the new champ at Survivor Series. Whether or not they had planned to have a new champion there is going to be one now. Too bad we don't get the pay off of Reigns beating Rollins though. I expect Reigns to win it but it would be kind of funny if they managed to screw him again in order to keep things interesting. Wonder who is going to be involved.... I guess we'll find out next Monday.

He is expected to be out 6-9 months. MCL and ACL tears. Pretty rough but things like this happen. Hopefully it doesn't ruin his ability to wrestle going forward.

You are basically forced into giving the belt to Reigns or Sheamus, which is a shame, because I don't think anyone wants either result.

I already wasn't watching WWE. I just became significantly less likely to.

legacyme3 : actually, Reigns was facing Rollins at Survivor Series and was likely to be winning the title. It looked like they had been building to it for a while. He just won a number 1 contenders match in order to face Rollins. I could see Reigns winning, or getting screwed over this time only to come back and win it pretty soon after.

Still, it looks like there aren't many great candidates to hold the title. I wonder if Brock wants to come back and have another title run.... I'd actually like to see him and Reigns fight again with Reigns as the champ.

legacyme3 : actually Reigns has come a long way since Wrestlemania. He's a lot more believable as a champ now than he was before. At least he was beating Rollins who he is way bigger than as opposed to him beating Brock Lesnar which no one would have believed.

Still, I think you've actually missed out on some of the best overall stuff in a few years.

I remember watching a PPV a few months back and thinking he'd improved, but I still don't think he makes for a compelling character or champion.

My friend watches, and has told me the exact opposite of what you have.

I guess we both just miss the Ruthless Aggression Era too much.

legacyme3 : I agree that he's not that interesting of a champion only that he has improved in the last 6 months. It's not nearly as much of a joke as it was before when he was about to become champ.

Still, at this point who do they have that is a legitimate champ? They could make several people the champ but who would people believe? Actually, Bray Wyatt as the champ would be awesome. With the family backing him up he could have a pretty long run as champ. That would actually be a lot better than Reigns


And yeah, I miss the attitude and ruthless aggression eras. Wrestling was pretty awesome back then.

In this time of great crisis (with Rollins, Orton, and Cena all out), I think the WWE champion needs to be an excitable guy that can really draw crowds.

Honestly? The best fit?

Dean Ambrose, in my opinion. He's a guy who could waltz in, give the Authority a massive headache, and create all manner of interesting feuds.

To mix things up, while Rollins is recovering, you can even have him turn heel, and fight dirty to keep the title.

I think Ambrose is the most versatile guy you have on the roster, unless he too got injured when no one was looking.

But champ? Trying to relive Stone Cold Steve Austin? He's not Stone Cold yet. Plus, I think Ambrose is awful to watch in the ring. Almost as bad as Reigns.

Still, he has way more character than Reigns. Maybe some sort of swerve where Ambrose screws over Reigns to win the title would be neat.

I have been and still will be upset with the whole Authority thing. Though, I like what they are doing to Seth. Its freaking hilarious! But I'm getting back into it. Who knows?

Maybe one day I will watch Smack Down and Raw each week. Would be nice. Although, Smack down is super boring now. At least in my opinion.

Ferdinand : yeah, me and Leggy were just posting about that. I was pretty sure he was dropping the belt at Survivor Series so he was likely to not be champion anyway. However, you miss the pay off of having Reigns beat Rollins for the title which I think a lot of the crowd is starting to get behind.

DestinyHeroDC : I could never watch Smackdown. I always felt it was the inferior product in WWE. Even now that both shows have basically the same roster I still don't watch it. Anything important that happens on Smackdown gets replayed on Raw anyway so its not like you miss much.

November 9th Raw

Whoa, starting with Triple H right away. Not even an intro. I actually liked that promo by HHH. Rollins was a pretty good champ by the end. He was actuall winning some matches cleanly and had some amazing matches during his run as champ. Unfortunate that he had to get hurt like he did rather than getting beat by Reigns and getting hurt at that point.

Interesting - HHH is giving Reigns the chance to simply get the title because he is the #1 contendor. I don't see it happening but it's still an interesting play. Of course he didn't take it but it was an interesting offer. Obviously it was to build him up even more. The authority try to turn Reigns and he doesn't take it. Make the fans like him more (at least that seemed to be the idea).

Big Show vs. Reigns - considering it's been a few weeks since I can remember seeing Big Show on TV I can't see Big show winning this match. The samoan drop he did was impressive. Other than that it was a pretty standard match. Reigns winning was pretty expected.

Owens vs Titus - This one is a toss-up. Owens is the likely pick but Titus is a big tough guy that could use the benefit of getting further in this tournament. Still, I see Owens winning because he is more likely to be getting a push towards the heavyweight title. Yup, Owens won. Shocking

Becky vs. Paige - the match was okay. I liked the conclusion with the submission on the table and Charlotte running out to make the save. I'm interested in what Paige and Charlotte are going to do in their match.

Miz vs Ziggler - that was kind of a weak finish.... Miz was beating Ziggler's legs pretty good and yet a kick finished Miz. Seems kinda dumb to me

Cesaro vs Sheamus - Cesaro won. Not a surprise. Didn't have much to say about it. Good match all in all.

Ambrose vs Breeze - What? Breeze didn't win? Shocking Can't believe Ambrose won this one. Who could have known?

6 man tag match - didn't care about this at all.

Wyatt Promo - now this is what I've been waiting for. I want to see how this plays out and I want the match made for Suvivor Series. Too much time left in the episode for this to be over - they've got to be coming out. Yup, there is the gong! I can't help but get excited whenever Undertaker's music hits. It's just such a good entrance. Yup, there they both are! Nice! The whole Wyatt family is there now. I wonder if anyone else is going to come out to help them to round out the Undertaker/Kane team. Wow, I didn't actually expect them to dominate like they did. I was expecting the numbers to take over and then someone would come out and help. Not sure what they are going to do next with this....

Raw Nov 16th

Updated bracket for the Heavyweight Title Tournament

Reigns vs. Cesaro, Del Rio vs Kalisto (WTF?), Owens vs Neville, Ziggler vs. Ambrose. Only the one here that is weird is Kalisto.... the rest are okay.

Whoa.... is Undertaker opening the show? That would be awesome. Still one of the best entrances in wrestling of all time. Boo, Kane and Undertaker versus 2 members of the Wyatt family? That's so lame. It should be 4 on 4! What a missed opportunity. And here come the Wyatts. And nothing really happened.... Lame.

Neville vs Owens - these guys have some history so this should be a good match. And so far it has been. A couple close moments so far. I think Neville could actually pull this off. Holy crap! That was unreal! Really too bad that Owens won that match cause Neville was way better in that match. I want to find a clip of that move he did in case people didn't see it. R-Truth vs Breeze - yet another match that doesn't matter and that I don't care about.

Ziggler vs Ambrose - the result of this one seems obvious to me. I see Ambrose winning because I just don't see Ziggler getting close to the finals right now. Ambrose seems to be the guy that is going to get the push but it's hard to know for sure. I could see either guy winning this match. I'm actually impressed by this match. They are actually WRESTLING! Not just going for high spots or big moves but also putting in some real quality moves. If these guys were to wrestle like this every time they faced each other I would love to see them fight for a while. This is good stuff. And Ambrose wins. Not a surprise. I was pretty sure that was who was going to win. Still, great match to watch between these two. Glad to see Ambrose can actually wrestle and not just brawl.

New Day vs Uso's + Ryback - this is another match I just don't care about right now. Feels like a filler match that doesn't really serve any purpose. Uso's and Ryback won.

Reigns vs Cesaro - Reigns is going to win this match no matter how much I want to see Cesaro get there. Cesaro deserves it so much more. Still, Reigns has been on the road to win for a while now and I don't see him losing. WWE wants Reigns as the champ. He can be a poster boy like the Rock was. And look, I was right. Not that the match was disappointing or anything but I knew who was going to win from the beginning. I hate knowing.

Del Rio vs Kalisto - Del Rio won.... really? What a shock [end sarcasm]

Paige and Charlotte contract signing - it devolved into a fight? Who could have seen that coming? And seriously.... how can a half dozen grown men not control a couple of women? It's pretty ridiculous no matter how small they are. What a boring way to end Raw. Seriously.... The Cesaro/Reigns match should have ended Raw. That would have been an entertaining finish at least. This was just sad.

No kidding man. When Neville pulled off that reverse hurricanrana I literally yelled out loud. I fell exactly the same about the Cesaro/Reigns match. Plus, I hate wrestlers who's finisher is the spear. So weak and uncreative.

Ferdinand : yeah, I just about jumped out of my chair. I thought that move was amazing. That should have finished the match.

Still, WWE wants Reigns to be champ. It's obvious. However, without Rollins to beat it doesn't make as much sense. I'm really hoping for some sort of swerve either with Ambrose or Reigns in the final match that will change things up for one of them. Maybe one goes heel and turns on the other in order to get the win.

geeogree : Interesting idea. Reigns would have to do something really nasty for me to start liking him though. lol. Maybe if he sells out to Helmsley. That might be an extra spark for when Rollins comes back even. 

Ferdinand : I would actually like him to do that. They spent so much time trying to make everyone like him and just as opinion is starting to change would be the perfect time to turn him.

Then when Rollins comes back he could come back as a face because he realized in his time off that he was always good enough to be champ and he didn't need the Authority to help him.

I'd like that personally even if it is fairly predictable.

Survivor Series

Del Rio vs. Reigns - So, Reigns is going to win this. Del Rio is going to put on a good match but Reigns is going on. There is no question about it. Enjoying the match so far though. I'm not surprised that it is good considering Del Rio is in the match. Also, Jerry Lawler is on commentary which is great. I miss him on Raw. Of course Reigns won. I knew it was coming.

Ambrose vs Owens - Not sure why I was surprised to see this match right away but I guess it makes sense. Got to get these 2 matches out of the way first so they can rest for the end of the show. Yup, Ambrose vs Reigns in the final. Just about anyone could have called this. The real question for that match is who screws who or is it a clean fight?

5 on 5 Survivor Series match - Did this even get any pre-match hype? What a filler match.

Paige vs Charlotte - now this is a match worth watching. Not surprised that Charlotte won this match. I'm pretty sure they want her to hold that title for a while and I'm okay with that. I'd rather watch Charlotte than the Bella's.

Ziggler vs Breeze - this is really a PPV match? I didn't think it was quite there yet. Still, not a bad match but I don't see why it was on the PPV yet.

Kane/Undertaker vs Some Wyatts - I'm not sure why but I'm not really excited about this match. I didn't see Undertaker and Kane losing so there wasn't really a whole lot of tension to this match. Of course it was cool to see him again and it's nice to see him healthy again so he can have more than 1 match per year. This was a meaningless match to me though.

Reigns vs Ambrose - I see Reigns winning this but that's a big question mark as to whether or not there is some sort of swerve coming. You never know what either of these guys will do in order to be champ. And Reigns won it clean. I'm a bit surprised by that but kind of happy at the same time. At least it wasn't a screw-job to make him champ.

And now we wait - does Sheamus come out? Doesn't look like it. They are doing fireworks and confetti for Reigns. Here comes Triple H. Wow. Didn't see that coming. Spearing Triple H. And the cash-in is here. Reigns kicked out! That ring is covered in confetti.... HAHA. Sheamus is champion. Can anyone say Daniel Bryan cause this is almost exactly how they screwed Daniel Bryan.
