I got this game back in June, on the fourth as part of the Oddboxx bundle. It was, in my opinion, well worth getting. The game was stunning, and I, more or less, enjoyed every minute of it. Note that this is mainly for the PC version, but can cover any other platforms the game is on
Without further ado, let's get into the review!
Graphics: 10/10
The graphics in this game really make the world vibrant and interesting. I think that the HD remake, made by Just Add Water (J.A.W.), did a fantastic job with the graphical fidelity. Each area is worth exploring, and there are plenty of themes.
I'm giving this a 10
Sound: 9/10
The sound is alright, though repetitive. The enemies will say the same things over and over, and when the main character (Stranger) jumps, he uses one of three audio files. This leads to something that is a bit repetitive. The music for this game, though. It's worth listening to, if you have the time to listen to it.
I'm giving this a 9
Addictiveness: 3/10
It goes without saying. Not every game is addicting, and this one is no exception. Besides completely exploring the world, breaking everything you come across, and getting all the achievements for this game, there's really not much to do. If you really liked playing this game, then by all means, play it again. Nobody is stopping you from doing so.
Giving this a 3
Story: 10/10
This has an exceptionally well crafted story. It'll take around 10 hours to complete, but the story is part of what makes this game shine. If you want to see what the story is about, (buy)/play the game and find out.
This gets a 10
Depth: 10/10
There's a lot of depth to be discovered in this game. From the entrancing story, to the visual environments, to the individual characteristics of each outlaw, players will not be disappointed.
10
Difficulty: 7/10:
This game is hard. If you're not careful with your surroundings, you will die often. Enemies can ambush you, and sometimes can be overwhelming to deal with. It doesn't help that you have to hide in order to heal yourself, making easy prey for enemies to take out.
Overall: 9.5/10
This game has shortcomings, but those are rare, and the good things outshine the bad. So, whether you are an avid gamer, an achievement hunter, or just somebody who enjoys a good story, this game is totally for you.
