Hello Everyone.

I am Kazerima, an amateur game designer approximately aged 24. I was recently referred to this site by a good friend of mine from college, and it looks like a good place to check out older games for inspiration or even playing just for fun. Though I have no actual titles to my name, I have been attempting to study the process through online posts and videos such as the Extra Credits series. Regarding games played, I'm primarily a fan of RPGs over shooters, and a semi-active Yu-Gi-Oh player despite the fact I'm not particularly good at it. I'm not particularly sure what else to add here, but, thank you whoever you are for reading over my profile. Enjoy.

Kazerima : Hey Kazerima! Welcome to the site! Always great to have game designers as well as avid gamers join the site! I hope that you enjoy your time here VERY much.

Please let me know if there is anything that you need help with, I'm always happy to help when possible.

I'm also a huge RPG fan myself. What are some of your favorite Retro RPG's off the top of your head?

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Off the top of my head, well, I grew up on Pokémon & runescape to be honest. The PS2 was my first console and most older things I've played have been digital copies rather than the original cartridge. I did also play a few of the Final Fantasy games but the grind for story in some of them has been a bit discouraging to truly finish playing through.

If PlayStation 2 games count as retro these days though... I enjoyed my time with the .Hack//franchise and Xenosaga trilogy even if it was a bit confusing. For non-RPG games I really liked the Star Wars Battlefront games, Soul Caliber 2 & 3, and Metal Gear 1-3. I've been more of a PC player though since consoles are more expensive and more difficult to obtain games for.

Welcome to the site! I'm also a huge Pokemon fan, and have been playing Runescape on and off for the past 5 and a half years, just can't seem to ever quit the game, lol.

The PS2 was sort of also my first serious gaming console, I'd owned a few other consoles before that, but never had many games, I used to have a pretty large PS2 library of all kinds of different games, so it ended up being mainly the console I really got into gaming with.

Anyways yeah this is a great site for playing all kinds of retro games and there's also nice community aspect to it since we have the forums, the chatrooms and an official minecraft server, basically there is almost always something to do here.

Most of the yugioh I've been playing for a while has been online, using things like Dueling Network or Duel Monsters Genesis.

To answer your question though, I've been using a few different decks for the past while. Presently I'm running a Majespecters deck if only because it's the toughest deck I've seen so far. The monsters are all pendulums that can't be destroyed or targeted by effects. They can also almost all of them either search out more cards to add to hand or act as removal. They're pretty overpowered at the moment and I'm personally hoping they get banned so I can start running decks I like better more often.

Other decks I ran fairly recently were a dragon control deck built around Red-Eyes, Protector of the Shrine, and LaDD. It did pretty well up until the update where it kind of got demolished by Majespecter decks at every turn xD Way back before I built a hybrid deck between Shaddolls and Tellarknights. The combination worked surprisingly well against most things I threw it against except pure shaddoll decks. It sadly kind of stopped being valid around the time Nekroz decks started to take off though. I was really proud of it though because I'd never seen anyone else try to run it while remaining an extremely effective rogue deck. Of course, besides these I also like to build concept decks off one thing or another I see in the card pool just to try out new ideas.

As for my cards in reality... most of what I have isn't good enough for tournament play. Just a bunch of assorted commons to supers I've collected throughout the years. Back when synchros were more popular I had a pretty mean spellcaster deck though.
