Do you find it more exciting for you to stay awake during the daytime, or during the nighttime? Why is it more exciting?

For me, it depends on whether I have any friends over where I'm at. If I do have friends there to spend the night, then it's more exciting for me to stay awake during the nighttime.

However, if I don't have any friends spending the night with me somewhere, it's more exciting for me to stay awake during the daytime.

I would probably have to say staying awake during the night because that is usually when I get to do most of my online work and it is also the time that I get to talk with most of the people that I know, can't really do much during the day if everyone else is either travelling, working, or in school.

I find (found?) being awaken at night more enjoyable, especially when working in retail. It's quieter, cooler and I had time to do my homework. I also found that sleeping during the day in the summer somewhat easier. It must be because I slept next to a loud portable air conditioning that kept noise from bothering me

zanderlex : Yeah, it would be pretty unfortunate to only stay up during the day and not have many people to talk to. One of my friends I can only talk to at night unless they're at my house for the day and night. Usually I have to talk to him on Facebook at 2AM to get a response XD

janus : One of the things I like about nighttime when I've had a rough day is that I'm the only one awake during the night, so I can get plenty of alone time. It's much quieter at nighttime.

It's a lot quieter in the nighttime for me, and I love quiet.

My eyes are extremely light-sensitive, making me have to wear sunglasses very often anyways.

Its way more exciting for me to stay awake during the day, and its simply because I get to go to work. I know most people out there don't like there jobs for various reasons, but not me. I absolutely LOVE my job! I'm truly constantly looking forward to going to my shop and meeting new people that I meet every day. It really is a blessing for me. I wouldn't have it any other way.

The only thing I do at night, especially when I'm bored and have nothing to do, is play my PS4. I wouldn't really call it "exciting" unless I'm playing together with my brother, and we do something together in a game that's really awesome. If I'm not doing any of that, then I'm sleeping. Then again, I do play softball on Monday nights during the summer. I suppose that's a little exciting, but not as exciting as my job.

MattyIce : Night shifts are not for everyone. My mother and I had it easy - and we both preferred that to daytime - but my brother-in-law could not wait to get back on a day shift, especially with a young child. Plus, for people who like socializing there are usually very few such occasions.

   During the night, without question. I usually feel much more awake during the night, and that's normally when friends that I like to hang out with are available. I just feel more energized, and feel like I would be able to get more done, and am also just in a better mood in general later on.

I got to go with the night time because the reason why is because staying awake during the daytime is too boring and who even cares about the daytime anyways. The night time is more interesting to stay awake for because a lot of interesting things always happens during the night time.

Unless it's a job, then it's the other way around, the evening shift is the worst time imaginable, that is why I now have a morning shift at my job.


What I would say.. Screw daytime, Nighttime is the best time.

IgorBird122 : II agree with your assessment of evening shifts (4 pm to midnight or so). They are usually the worse for social AND family life. When my mom worked those shifts from time to time we did not see her at all since we were at school when she woke up and she was gone when we came back.

When I was a lot younger, I loved to work evenings. For years I worked second shift 2pm-10pm. It was the best. I used to party all the time so when I got off of work, I had at least 3 hours of bar time then I could sleep in until noon the next day. I was single of course. Now I'm just boring 24/7 I suppose.

Ferdinand : I think that's something I would like to do as well when I get a summer job. I'm hoping to get a summer job, or at least do volunteer work, starting next year or the year after that. This year I still have plenty of things to figure out, though, and I've had to do a lot of things with my family so I've been pretty busy when I'm not on vizzed.

Working a graveyard shift would be interesting too, but I don't want to do that. It would probably be pretty fun for me for the first couple days and then I would be sick of it. I'd rather stay awake during the day for a job than do that.

If I think I'd have to pick what's more "exciting" I would have to go with staying up during the day because I'm usually more of a night owl so I often stay up during the night and wake up later during the day, so waking up early like I did today and not feeling tired, is a bit exciting because it doesn't happen that often XD

That said I still generally prefer being a night owl since things are usually more calm at night time which allows one to get more things done, and due to timezones and stuff, It's like an unwritten requirement for me to stay up to 7am every day to be able to keep up when competing in the TdV, so I've basically messed up my whole sleep schedule. I do tend on adjusting it a little bit to make it at less slightly more normal in august once TdV is over though, since I'd rather avoid having to do a complete 180 later that month when school starts.

More exciting for me is staying awake in the day. I know there's a lot of cool stuff to do in the night but a recent horrifically failed attempt at an all-nighter has led me to abandon virtually all chance of me staying up late.

Lame, I know.

Zlinqx : I'm also pretty excited when I wake up early in the morning and I don't feel tired. I usually sleep until around 9AM during the summertime, but sometimes I get up at around 7:30AM during the summer because I went to bed early enough.

Since my time zone is only an hour away from vizzed, I have to stay up until 1AM to keep my spot in the TdV. That's definitely late enough for me. I try not to stay up later than that unless I have any friends over at my house. That way I don't have a lot of trouble when the school year is about to begin.

It's really not fun, and sometimes even miserable, to try adjusting my sleep schedule for school. I think I will start trying that right when August begins so I have plenty of time to do it instead of waiting until a few days before school starts.

PacmanandMariofan : Adjusting is a bit rough but is still over fairly quickly, just have to make sure it before school starts and not during :V I usually don't get nearly as much sleep when I have school, I tend to oversleep during the summer since I feel tired after waking up but when I have school I tend to want to stay up late which means I'm able to get much less sleep because school starts early,

Zlinqx: Yeah. I always have to force myself to go to bed early during the school year because I really want to stay up late XD I want to care more about my sleep during the school year.

When I was in 9th grade I kept staying up 30 minutes to an hour past my bedtime and I didn't care as much as I should. This year I'm hoping to try harder to get more sleep, mainly since this school year will likely be the busiest one I have ever had.

I would have to say during the night because as a child, I could stay up all night without my parents even noticing. ...Unless I accidentally did something to cause a uproar and wake them up. Ah, good times.
