If I was to write this review a few months ago I would have given it and overall rating of between 8.5 and 9, but EA Sports implemented something in the middle of the year that made FIFA 15 considerably worse and caused me to lose interest in the game completely. I'll get to that in a little bit.

Graphics (8):

The graphics in FIFA 15 are decent, but not spectacular. Most of the players look pretty life like and if you know the players well you should be able to tell who most of them are by looking at them, but they have a slightly cartoonish look to them that makes them look less realistic. The fans in the crowd look like people and not just blobs but they are not as detailed as other sports games like MLB 15 The Show. There are also many problems with the graphics after you score a goal or after the half. A lot of times the goalkeeper will walk into the net and just keep walking (while not moving) even though he is touching the back of the net. Other times players or the goalkeepers will go right through the net as if it isn't even there. There are other graphical errors in the game too, but they are much less common than the ones that I mentioned. Overall the graphics are decent, but could use some work.

Sound (8):

There are some things about the sound in FIFA 15 that I really like and some things that I really dislike. I like that they have somewhat authentic crowd sounds with their singing and stuff that they do at soccer games. I dislike how the crowd is pretty quiet when they aren't singing. I like some of the phrases that they commentators use. I dislike how little phrases they have and how often they repeat themselves. For every pro with the sound in this game there seems to be a con that goes with it. I like the soundtrack in the game. When scrolling through the menus you can hear songs from artists such as AVICII, Elliphant, FMLYBND, Foster The People, Madden Brothers, Magic Man, Nico & Vinz, Rudimental, Vance Joy, and more! There are a total of 41 songs so there is a nice variety and you will not get bored of hearing the same songs over and over again. Overall the sound could use some improvement, specifically when it comes to the commentators, but it definitely isn't bad.

Addictiveness (6):

This is where it gets interesting. If you've read one of my previous sports game reviews such as NHL 15 or MLB 15 The Show you will know that my favorite game mode, and the part of the game that I get addicted to, is the Ultimate Team mode. If I wrote this review a few months back I would give this category a 9, because FIFA Ultimate Team was fun back then and it had me hooked. But in March they did something to it that completely ruined Ultimate Team and caused me, along with countless other players, to stop playing. They implemented price ranges. Each player now has a specific minimum and maximum price that you are allowed to sell them for. This caused certain players to become extinct and impossible to find on the market because their range is too low and others to be impossible to sell because their range is too high. It also caused a massive market crash, so anyone with a lot of players lost out big time since their players are now worth a lot less. The game is still somewhat fun to play, and if you didn't play Ultimate Team before the price ranges you might still get addicted to it, but for those who knew how much more fun it was before this change you will likely lose interest quickly. Overall the game is a little addictive, but is nowhere near as addictive as it was thanks to price ranges.

Story (N/A):

No story. Sorry.

Depth (8):

FIFA 15 offers quite a few different game modes for you to enjoy. There is FIFA Ultimate Team, which I discussed above, Kick Off, Manager Career mode, Player Career mode, Skill Games, Practice Arena, Tournament mode, Online Seasons, Pro Clubs, Online Friendlies, and Co-op Seasons. In addition to all of these game modes, the game has practically unlimited replay value since it literally never ends, like most sports games. The few game modes that do actually end, such as Manager Career and Player Career, go on for 10+ seasons so there is a lot of depth there anyway. Overall FIFA 15 has a lot of variety to offer so I have given it a rating of 8.

Difficulty (8):

FIFA 15 is one game that certainly takes a lot of getting used to. It is very difficult to get a hang of the dribbling and skill moves in my opinion. You need to time everything just right or you will give the ball up to your opponents. On the flip side, when defending you need to time your tackles just right or your opponent will glide right by you. When playing offline there are six different difficulties that you can choose from so you can go at your own pace. It took me a few months before I was able to compete on the 3rd difficulty, so that shows how hard it is to get used to the game. Overall I consider FIFA 15 to be a pretty hard game, especially if you have never played a FIFA game before.

FIFA 15 is a decent game, but unless you can get it for really cheap I don't recommend buying it. Price ranges completely ruined Ultimate Team, so unless you are a big fan of Pro Clubs or one of the other game modes it really isn't worth it.

Thanks for reading!

tgags123 : EA has been shooting themselves in the foot for who knows how long, and tell you the truth, the only thing keeping them alive is their sport games (especially Madden, because each year when Madden is release, they get like $500,000,000+ each release).

Other than that, good review tgags.

IgorBird122 : True, even the sports games are going downhill though. I don't play Madden that much but NHL 15 was awful compared to past years and they completely ruined FIFA this year. I hope they can redeem themselves next year because I really like the NHL and FIFA games.

Thanks!

I haven't played an EA game in years. All they do is milk every franchise and they never add any new features to anything anymore. It seems your review proves that I should continue staying away from that company's games. I'm glad I decided to read this review. I'm looking forward to seeing your next review.

Basically my opinion on EA since they decided not to make Dead Space 4.

Basically i've been watching EA slowly kill itself.
I don't play other games by them since The Sims 4 came out a total failure. sigh, another game company I won't be supporting anymore.
Otherwise great review teegigs. I r8 8/8.

Late reply.

Glad I read this, as I was planning on buying this as soon as '16 came out (I'm cheap). Now...I'm not so sure. Maybe I'll just look for another Soccer/Football game.

Nice review, as always man. Love your directness.

This is a good review and I do agree with most of your points. EA have done well as usual on the licensing as now they have all the Barclays Premier League stadiums which I think is a nice added feature. I never found this game very hard which might be because I have been playing FIFA since FIFA 2002 but it is still a good challenge never the less. The price ranges has almost killed off Ultimate Team (which I think is there most popular mode in the game) for a number of people. I don't play online so it doesn't have a massive effect on me but EA have dropped the ball on this one. (yus I made a funny pun)
