Alright, with summer officially a go, I can finally sit down and start editing these videos and start cranking these out. One issue is this...I don't have an intro yet, and I personally hope to use my time to work on edits instead of trying to think of an intro. So I'm going to ask the community for some help, which is appropriate since I want this to be a community thing anyways.

So, I need someone to help make 2 intros. One is for Vizzed Productions as a whole. The other is for "Vizzed Versus". The goal is to make something that is doesn't look too generic. Some qualities that I would like to see on the intros:

For Vizzed Production, there should be a footnote on the bottom near the end of the video saying that "Vizzed is a Retro Video Game Community" and one should find a way to design to show the Retro video game aspect within the intro, like old snapshots of games, or icons of old consoles. You won't want to do too much on it though, because we want to make it clear as to what the community is all about.

For the Vizzed Versus, I am actually wondering if anyone can pull off a design where the V can be used for both Vizzed and Versus at the same time, stacking on top of each other. Other than that, there should be something in the intro that has something to do with multiplayer or players going against each other. One possible option is that there would be a place that I can put usernames of who is facing off against each other in the intro, but that might be a little too complicated

Reward: If I like someone's design of either of these intros and plan on being used for the YouTube channel, not only will you be recognized by having your username/youtube channel displayed on the description of each video, but I am also willing to offer a $15 "rain check" on games of your choosing on steam. What this means is that I would be willing to buy you games as a gift that is within the $15 limit. It's a rain check, which means that you get to choose when you are able to use it (assuming that you remember if you wait too long), so you can use it immediately when you see a game that you like already, or you could wait till a steam sale happens to use your $15 ability.

saldek : Well, that isn't really the point of the request. I want it to be a community thing and let community members contribute if they have that skill or idea about it. Also, I am not really willing to pay for something like this, but I think someone who is able to do it well enough to be selected should deserve some type of prize.

I would be very interested in working on these ideas that you have posted here, and it would give me something to do during the summer days. I've been meaning to try to find a use for my video editing abilities (all I've been doing is messing around with Adobe Premiere for the last year). I think I'll look into what I can do with the suggestions that you've put up. Though, I might need to double check on what type of content you'd want.

You'd say that you wouldn't want to go too much into the retro game aspect in the Vizzed Production video. I was thinking how much of it would you want to be retro games? Also, with the remainder of the video, what kind of things would you want to be used to be represented and how?

Also, I do have a good idea from what you'd want for the Vizzed Versus video, and I have a good idea on how to do that, though apart from the stacking idea that you suggested, is there any particular style that you would want the Vizzed Versus text to be displayed? I'm better on the video editing than on the graphics or text display, so I might need a bit of help with that aspect, though I do know what you're talking about, so I can try something myself as a prototype, if you would want that.

Apart from that, I'm totally up for trying this out. If you want me to give this a try, let me know.

This sounds like a very good idea. Honestly i'd be interested in helping but i don't really have the time or patience to do an intro especially as i've never really bothered with editing/creating videos...
My honest advice is that it should be short.. Long intro's are usually what irritate viewers quickly.. and something that looks poorly made will make it so that they will watch 3 seconds and decide the content will be low quality....

I've made a very basic Vizzed Versus logo in like 3 minutes so that play can vocalise what needs to be better and how to advance it from their.. basically it's just a concept image to help get this idea rolling!

DavidMcC1989 : I definitely would love to see what you can do. What sonicmcmuffin posted is quite similar to what I am thinking about. 

I wasn't actually saying that you don't want to go too much into the retro game aspect, I actually was saying that the intro should not be too long, like what muffin said.

play4fun : I understand what you and sonicmcmuffin are saying. So it's more length than content that you're worried about. No problem there. I was thinking about a few ideas that I could try out with these videos. The only think I'm unsure about is what the soundtrack would be ie what music would be playing during it. That and what logo or text would be displayed at the end. Once I have a good idea on those, I can start with the video. If you want to throw anything my way for those, and even for what games you'd want me to use, feel free to let me know.

DavidMcC1989 : Sorry that I'm just following up on this. I would say as long as you use something that is royalty free music. At this point, I think it would be best if you just show me what you have when you are done and then we can discuss later. I am planning to go ahead and upload some of the videos that I have when I am done editing, because I don't want to delay these videos too long. But once we finalize the intro, I will add them in later videos.
