If you have any of the console versions of Minecraft which include PS3, PS4, PS Vita, XBox 360, and XBox One, then you are in luck because all console versions are getting their first update in almost half a year and it's a pretty big one.

Title Update 25, also known as TU25 which will be released tomorrow brings about many new blocks and items as well as a few changes to the game itself, one change being the crafting system which since the game was released only required you to have the items in your inventory and they would automatically craft something. This new update will revert the system to the PC version of placing craftable items in their corresponding slot.

In addition to many new features, many known problems have been fixed as well.

The following items have been added to all console versions.
Oak Wood Fence, Spruce Wood Fence, Birch Wood Fence, Jungle Wood Fence, Oak Wood Fence Gate, Spruce Wood Fence Gate, Birch Wood Fence Gate, Jungle Wood Fence Gate, Oak Wood Door, Spruce Wood Door, Birch Wood Door, Jungle Wood Door, Iron Trapdoor, Inverted Daylight Sensor, Book and Quill, Stained Glass and Stained Glass Panes.

The ability to customize Superflat worlds has also been added as well as the ability to change game mode, difficulty, time of day, and spawn location in the middle of a game. In the past, once you started a game these could not be changed.

Nearly a dozen bugs have been fixed and for two weeks, it comes with a free skin bundle.

It's cool to see Microsoft continue to support the versions of Minecraft on competitor systems.

I'm not sure if I like the update of having it revert to the PC versions way of handling item crafting. I am pretty excited for stained glass finally, that's something I've been looking forward to for a while now.

When I play Minecraft, it's usually on the PC but I do sometimes play the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions when my daughter wants to play Minecraft with me which is at least 1 or 2 hours a week lol.

Davideo7 : it's Microsoft we're talking about, they know that they will get a LOT of criticism if they would stop supporting it. Then again, it took them 6 months to add something small that the PC version already had, if they really wanted to they would have put this in long ago.

zanderlex : I hope that the support keeps till mine craft is a memory. Since I play it on ps4 I would hate to lose it and have to
play the same version while pc gets updates.

blasife : Well its a given really that the PC version has to get the updates before the others, or else you could make a bad update and instead of just having to fix it on one system, you would have to fix it on everything, so it's a lot easier to use a test system now.

blasife : yeah, 6 months of nothing seems like a bit much, but with all the extra consoles to deal with, it is a bit harder on them as well.

I play minecraft on the PC but my brother only likes to play games on game stations and not on a computer so I really am hoping against hope that they have cross-platform online/lan play because it would be nice to be able to play with him since we are really good friends. But unfortunately it seems like that will never happen. Still its nice that Minecraft for the game stations is getting an update. It was kinda sad how far behind those minecraft copies were. Anyway, it would be really nice to have it update and who knows maybe they will have cross-platform multi-player someday! I can always dream at least!
