I refer to football as the American/Canadian type. I have only referred to it for Soccer when I was making a parody in one of my reviews in reference to Team USA winning. The topic title was "Are you ready for some football? (No not that kind of football)." Thinking back on it I should have titled it "Are you ready for some futbol?"

Hey, it's America. We still use inches and pounds(not currency). We make our own rules. It's Football! Then there's soccer. The sport that's played on a pitch. Not a grid-iron. But at least I could make the soccer team. I couldn't take the beating of football and only played one year.

In my case, I tend to think of American/Canadian football (even though I really don't know why it's called football; the only time you use your feet on the ball is to kick field goals/kick off and punt), solely because that's the most relevant in the States (not to diss soccer/associated football, because I know it's extremely competitive and important in many places around the world, and still holds some importance here). Most people see football here, and think American/Canadian football, because of its prevalence. That's just how the cookie crumbles.
