So, I was talking to Snowdeath in chat this morning, and we realized just how close we were to each other, with me living just north of Seattle. We figured out that Vancouver is only a few hours of a drive for me, and that she'll be in the area around the time we were talking about meeting up for a day. Originally, I was just going to come up for a day, but she said Vancouver has so much to offer, that I should stay at least for a few days. So, we go to talking, and we decided to finally put Singelli's plan into action of a Vizzed meet-up!

Snowdeath : is going to take care of getting things together for everybody to do. She said there's tourist-y things, the 2nd largest mall in Canada, and we'll probably do Putt-Putt, Bowling, Go Karts, and even Laser Tag tournaments. So our 4 days will be jam packed!

If you are interested in coming, let us know here. This may be short notice for some, but this works best for me and Snowdeath, and we decided to open it to everybody else. If this goes well, maybe we can make this a yearly thing. We'll have to see. But, for now, we are just looking to get people together for a fun time.

If you live in the USA, you will need a passport to get into Canada. If you do not have a passport yet, they generally take about 4 to 5 weeks, or you can pay extra to get them quicker. If you get them normally, it seems they cost about $110 to $150, depending on your state, after some loose research.

If anybody has any questions, ask here. Me and Snowdeath will do our best to answer them.

RSVP list:

2. Snowdeath

Sucks for me, because even if I could go (can't, financially), it's at the worst possible time for me lol (I'm going to a wedding in that time frame, and I also may have to take a trip to California with my girlfriend for some legal bulls***).

Maybe in the future, some of us will have an official meetup on the East Coast.

legacyme3 : Maybe there could be seasonal meet-ups...

Like, the Summer one could be for West Coast North Americans, East Coast could be Spring Break time, And Europe could have Fall and Winter. And then we could try to set up 1 BIG ONE every couple of years.

Come to think about it, there is a couple of Southern users on here like me, and having a meeting on the East Coast could also be problematic as well, so, west or east, it's both a huge negative on me.

Don't forget Southerns (like me) and Midwesterns (like David).

IgorBird122 : I'm not saying that there can only be the ones I suggested. I was just giving a brief example was all. I mean, if people want to set them up for their own areas, then go ahead. I was just saying that having big ones as yearly events would be cool, and then 1 BIG WORLD WIDE one every.... 3 or 5 years or something be ideal.
That's all I was saying.

I love Vancouver BC. It's a BEAUTIFUL city with a lot of great outdoors stuff to do. It's been a couple years since I've been there. I'm actually surprised that you've never been up there considering where you live.

I would really love to come, but I have too much stuff going on around that time to be able to do so. Plus the flight wouldn't be cheap.

I wouldn't expect a huge turnout though, since you need a passport to get into Canada and back from the USA now. Also I don't think there are many active users that live up that way.

Not a bad idea to have some meet-ups. The problem is distances, not only for you Americans, here in Europe can also be hard.

Maybe in the future, when I get to travel a little more, I can attend Vizzed meetings worldwide lol.

Jordanv78 : We are just trying to do a small one for now, and are encouraging others to do their own small meet-ups too. Eventually, what we want to do is achieve Singelli's dream of having a World Wide Meet-Up within 3 or 5 years. I mean, people can set their own meet-ups for whenever they want, but I think me and Snowdeath are going to make this a yearly thing.
The reason we chose Vancouver was because it was a middle ground for us, and I have never been. As for why I have never been to Canada, it was because I never had a reason. I haven't been in WA for too much of my life, bro... I was an Army brat, remember?

EX Palen : Then set up a European one for your area! We WANT people to make meet-ups for their own areas.

I might consider it. Right now, I'm still dealing with the greatest hangover I've ever had, and I can't think properly.

We have a nice triangle with Spain, France and England, any of those countries could be a nice meeting point.

Much as I'd love to attend, on those days I will be in Serbia with my family.

Even if I wasn't busy, I live halfway across the country and my parents probably wouldn't approve of me going so far away to meet random people I found online (no offense).

Alright, guys... I think I'll start by writing up all my ideas about what could possibly happen and probably will. Just so you know, I'm super stoked for this!
This won't be a schedule, just a list of ideas for you guys to take a gander at.

1. Stanley Park
This is a beautiful big park perfect for summer. Many people go to this place for biking, walking, and scenic driving. There's also a pool somewhere in the park! It's also considered one of Vancouver's most well-known tourist spots.

2. Richmond Go-Karts
Of course, thing1 suggested this idea, and frankly, I think it's a wonderful idea... racing against other Vizzed members... REAL LIFE MARIO KART!!

3. Metrotown Mall
This is currently either the 3rd or the 2nd most biggest mall across Canada, and it's pretty fun to explore and take a gander at the fancy stuff they have. (All kinds of shops, you can check it out on the link.)

4. PlayLand
This is Vancouver's rollercoaster amusement park, and the prices are pretty decent for what they provide. There's a lot of rides, not just rollercoasters, and there's also mini-games and stuff. Again, if you wanna really know, just click the link!

5. Castle Fun Park
A lot of stuff in this one. Kid go-karting (no real racing machines), arcades, mini-golf, sport ranges (such as a pitching cage, a soccer net range, a baseball swing range, etc... The mini-golf is also multiple in options, one outside, three inside. (Last time I checked, anyway.)

6. Minor Baseball League - Vancouver Canadians
Don't kill me here, I know it's MILB, but I checked schedules for the Canucks and the BC Lions and even Whitecaps, they're all not available on our time range, but there's one for baseball, so better than nothing... am I right?

7. Planet Lazer
This is an extreme laser tag place, with multiple floors and all sort of stuff while playing laser. The theme is very sci-fi, very glowy and black-lighted, etc... In my opinion, it's extremely cool and fun!

8. Science World
In my opinion, more suited to kids and families, but it's also something out-of-towners should really at least see once, especially the building itself. It's literally a silver ball... Inside you learn about all kinds of stuff, it's science, come on. But the best thing about it is that it's interactive and there's things to do!

Okay, I think I've exhausted myself for now, but that's the main ideas I've thought up so far. thing1 also kindly wanted to let me post this link for those considering to come, as it makes stuff much more easier. Convert your money between CAD and USD! (monies)

I think you are missing a few of my personal favorite places in Vancouver.

Queen Elizabeth Park

HR Macmillian Space Center

VanDusen Botanical Garden

Nitobe Memorial Garden

Lynn Canyon Park

Vancouver Aquarium - I'm pretty sure this is the largest aquarium in Canada.

Granville Island is also really neat, worth an afternoon imo (or part of one).

Fun fact: Castle Fun Park was a solid 15-30 minutes from where I used to live in Canada. I used to live in Chilliwack, which is just a bit further down the road.

I would want nothing more than to come down. I might actually be coming to Chilliwack (45 mins from Vancouver) late this year, or sometime next year, but it's probably not realistic this year.

As I'm a dual citizen, it's hilariously ideal for me to get across the border. We're talking 5 minutes to get into Canada, and maybe 10 to get back. Yet, despite that, I probably won't be able to afford it. :/ Oh well.

JayJaded : Uh, I'm 21. And Snow is 19, she'll be there. She's trying to see if a few other members might be interested, too, that don't get on the site that much anymore.

Well this sucks...I think this is a wonderful idea, but there's just one problem I have with it. I'm from east Atlanta, which is kinda on the other side of the planet practically XD I'm down for any kind of "get together" as long as its east of the Mississippi River.

But this does sound like a lot of fun and I really wish I could be a part of it.

MattyIce : We were talking about doing something in Panama City Beach or Orlando next year, since merf and a few others are down in FL, and I have family in GA that I could stay with. We could all share a few hotel rooms to cut down on costs. But, I'll let you and Kruzer and merf set that one up. Just, if you can, and it's not too much trouble, make it during Spring Break, or some time that everybody could come in 2016, that way I can actually take PAID VACATION days instead of time off of work.
