I'm in the process of porting My Bible Millionaire (new name will be 'Bible Millionaire') from my co-owned site mybiblegames.com to iOS and Android devices.

It'll most likely go up in the app stores within 2 weeks and there will be a free version with ads and a paid version without ads which will cost $1. At the moment I'm not sure whether I'll be releasing "editions" with each edition having 1000 unique questions or if I'll just be updating the one I release with new questions once in a while.

The questions will be based on the Bible Trivia Questions on vizzed which means you guys can help out in 2 ways:
1. Submit questions
2. Answer questions

The task that is the most important right now is the Answer questions task. This helps us determine the difficulty of the questions which is important since the game offers 3 difficulty modes and the questions are suppose to progressively get harder and harder. Keep in mind that you earn Viz and CP for submitting and answering questions. For more information on that, go here: https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=85624

In case you haven't seen, a friend of mine which I co-own mybiblegames.com with has added 700+ questions to the Bible Trivia feature over the past 2 months which puts us at over 1000 total questions. He also had 2 friends of his go over all the questions to correct any spelling and grammar errors. If you see any problems with the current questions, let me know and I can fix or remove them.

If this app is a success, I'll most likely have another game from mybiblegames.com ported to mobile devices and I'll probably also have a few other apps developed as well including a Vizzed Game Room app which lets gives you access to all of the VGR content and features on a mobile device, a Virtual Bible App and possibly a few others.

I also want to give thanks to Foxyman1113 and his Grandma for financially supporting this (lots of expenses which include the costs to have the app published to the various stores and to have its code translated) with very generous donations over the past few months, they've been a huge blessing and their blessing has also blessed the developer that I hired to recode my game from AS2 code to AS3 code. That developer is a fellow Christian from India which is awesome because that's a country not known to have many Christians and it's a country where the average income is pretty low so it's great to be able to bless a fellow Christian in a country where they're an extreme minority. I'll most likely go to that developer for future similar work because they did a great job at recoding the game.

The whole concept makes makes me puke. You want to turn something that is spiritual and philosophical into some kind of "trivia" and thus make it "trivial" and charge money for it?

Even the word "my bible millionaire". Millionaire, huh.  Luke the 18th:

24 Jesus looked at him and said, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!
25 Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”
26 Those who heard this asked, “Who then can be saved?”
27 Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
28 Peter said to him, “We have left all we had to follow you!”
29 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus said to them, “no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God
30 will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life.”

Brigand : You miss the point.

David isn't trying to make the Bible seem trivial, nor does He think it is. Rather, this is a wise way to both help people enjoy themselves, as well as encouraging them to dive into the Bible. Trivia games help a lot with memorization, encourage you to get facts straight, as well as helping you understand the Bible better as a whole (if done right).

I know I've been motivated to read more in my Bible, just so I can see how much better I'll do in Bible Trivia.

Perhaps it's not the best of motivations, but the fact that it encourages people to read more in their Bibles is never a bad thing. I wouldn't be so quick to assume this is trivializing the Bible, but rather understand that this is a venue to bring accurate Biblical knowledge to people in an enjoyable and somewhat addicting way.

This looks pretty fun! Bible Trivia is always a fun thing I liked doing in Sunday School, I was pretty good at it too. I can't wait to see some of the questions this thing will have. And a dollar isn't THAT bad of a price really. lol Getting a board game of it is a lot more expensive.

Anyway, that's awesome how you've had a lot of help with it, and it's coming together nicely. You've been blessed to have it all go smoothly, and with help from people here, India, and total strangers!

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

Brigand : I think you completely missed the point of all this. This is suppose to be a fun parody of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" and isn't a way to promote being rich, it's just Bible trivia which functions similar to that game show.

Christians crave trivia all the time. It's a great and fun way to help you remember the things that you've read and also helps you learn new things as well when you answer questions wrong. Plus, it can excite Christians and motivate them to want to learn more and remind them to read their Bible. I'm not doing anything new or different here and Bible trivia is definitely not against the Bible in any way.

Yeah I'm charging money for it but I'm also offering a free version of the game as well which has all of the features of the paid version. The paid version will only cost $1 and it'll not only help fund the cost of the game itself but future apps as well. Even though I created the original in Flash many years ago, I had to pay a developer $250 to translate the AS2 code to AS3 so that it'd be compatible with Adobe AIR which is required to port the game to iOS and Android devices. On top of that, I also have to pay for the fees to have the game added to the various app stores which will cost anywhere between $125 - $275 depending on which stores I submit it to.

I may not even make my money back and that's fine but I wanted to make at least some of it back, especially since I've been struggling pretty bad financially lately (and I'd also like to port "Wheel of Verses" to mobile devices eventually as well). Developing Christian apps and games are something I want to do for Christians and not for financial gain. I have no desire to become rich off of doing it but doing these things does cost money and I can only fund so much of it myself.

As proof that I'm not some greedy money hungry Christian like you think, the site that I co-own, which is MyBibleGames.com, I decided years ago that I wanted the site to be free, even if my co-owner wanted to charge a fee. I've never liked the idea of Christians charging other Christians money for these sorts of things and that's what I really liked about Keith Green (a Christian songwriter who died in 1982), he later in his life chose not to charge money for his music. Anyways, back to MBG. The site has only received like $240 worth of donations in the 7 years it has been around which doesn't even come close to covering all the time invested into creating that site, creating the games for that site and the money spent each month to keep that site up but I don't really care since the purpose of that site was to spread God's word through games, not to become rich.

So yeah, you're definitely misinterpreting my purpose with all of this. I'm definitely not one of those Christians who use God to make a ton of money because there are so many like that in this world and they make me sick. We have these millionaire preachers who preach success, wealth and happiness when the Bible clearly makes it obvious that by becoming a Christian, you are not entitled to those things at all (the Apostles had the exact opposite). We also have millionaire Christian musicians who are just loaded with money as well. I'd never want to be in the same category as these types of Christians.

A user of this : Thanks. Yeah also keep in mind there will be a free version.

mrfe : Well said.
