Welcome curious souls, to a new walkthrough. My name's Laian and I'll be your host for this great adventure, as always. Back in 1993 when a strange mansion, lair of the toy maker Henry Stauf, existed. A few people were invited to play a game. What game, may you ask? Puzzles scattered all over the place, in these rooms. Oh don't worry, you're the new guest but I'll be on your side. Hey , we need all the help we can get, don't you? So here we go, back in 1993, in Stauf's mansion. Welcome to the 7th guest. I hope you will enjoy your stay while you're figuring out this mystery.

Oh, one more thing: this walkthrough will be slightly different. Since each room of the mansion has a puzzle to solve, I'll explain the gimmick and how to solve it. Except for one puzzle (which is insanely hard to solve but we shall see that in due time), I'll explain each of these puzzles step by step. Well, how I made it of course. There must be an easier way to solve it and eventually you'll figure it out. Besides all the puzzles part, you are free to click anywhere that seems suspicious to you if you want to know more about the story or trigger specific events. Well I guess we can dive into the heart of that walkthrough this time.

FIRST FLOOR

DINING ROOM
DIFFICULTY: EASY
This is the first puzzle of the game. After this one, you are free to explore and do any puzzle you want. Examine the table to trigger an event. Then, click on the cake to start the puzzle. You have to cut the cake as long as each guest has a slice with two tombstones, two skulls and an empty square. Here is how you have to solve it:

A cutscene will be triggered after solving the puzzle. You can go back to the main hall now.

MAIN HALL
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
The puzzle is behind you when you start the game. Yeah, it's that big door. An event will be triggered when you interact with the door. Although, you can't solve it right at the beginning of the game. You have to solve the one in the dining room, like the other puzzles. This puzzle has a simple gimmick. Everytime you click on a blue round, a spider will appear. Then you have to choose one of the two directions allowed. You can't move a spider once she moved to another spot. In order to solve the puzzle you have to complete the star with spiders instead of blue dots. Easy, you may think but keep in mind you have to move the spiders after pressing a dot. That sounds easy but, trust me, you can get stuck k easily. Here is a way to solve it, explained step by step (see the star as a compass):

Step 1: South > North East
Step 2: North-West > South
Step 3: East > North West
Step 4: South West > East
Step 5: North > South West
Step 6: South East > North
Step 7: West > South East

The last spot will be instantly filled with a spider and a cutscene will be triggered at the end of the puzzle.

KITCHEN
DIFFICULTY: HARD
That puzzle is incredibly hard if, like me, you have no notions of old English language. First of all, trigger the first cutscene next to the furnace then the one nearby the cupboard. Now, open the cupboard to see the puzzle. Yeah, except for the letter "Y", there is no other vowels. And you have to make a sentence with these cans. A sentence written in old English language. This is the sentence you must make:

"Shy Gypsy Slyly Spryly Tryst By My Crypt."

A cutscene will be triggered at the end of the puzzle. Now you can open the door to the right and go to the basement.

LIBRARY
DIFFICULTY: EASY
The puzzle is not the book on the table. That book allows you to have some clues about the puzzles. How to solve it if you get stuck, you know. It also solves the puzzle if you use it three times. It can't be used for the last puzzle though. There's also a shortcut leading to the second floor. Just interact with the fireplace to the right. Now, let's find and solve the puzzle. Just move forward. A weird cutscene will be triggered. Touch the telescope to start the puzzle. You can see letters and paths connecting the letters between them. You must make a sentence using these letters. That sentence:

"There is no possible way"

Once this puzzle is solved, you'll see the spectre of Henry Stauf, telling you a nice little story. You can leave the room now.

THE MUSIC ROOM
DIFFICULTY: EASY
The plant to the right is a one-way passageway to the dark green room. Click on the piano to start the puzzle. Basically, you need to memorize the notes played and reproduce them afterwards. Simple like ABC. Watch the cutscene, turn back and play the gramophone if you want to. Leave the room.

THE ART GALLERY
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
The art gallery will be unlocked after the reuniting of the six guests in the library. The only way to go to the art gallery is going to the entrance, then facing the stairs and click on the floor to go there. You'll watch a cutscene first then you can interact with the paintings to trigger some animations. Go right to find a portrait of Henry Stauf. Examine it to start the puzzle. If you remember the coffin puzzle, it's the same mechanic. However, there is a slight difference: there is a normal form, a demonic form and a snake form for each tile. In order to solve the puzzle, you have to make sure that all tiles are in normal form. There is no set solution, like the coffin puzzle. An animation will trigger after solving the puzzle. Check the painting to your right to go back to the music room.

BASEMENT

BASEMENT PART 1
DIFFICULTY: EASY
It's a simple puzzle. See the two pieces to the right? You need them to make the round. It'll be easier with that pattern:

1 * 2
3 4 5

As you can see, the numbers 2 and 5 are the tiles that will make the round. Follow these instructions to solve the puzzle: move the tile 4, then the tile 5 and the tile 2. Move the tile 4, then the tile 1 and the tile 3. Then move the tiles 5, 1 and 3. Move the tiles 1, 3 and 5 afterwards. At this point of the puzzle, the top half of the round is where the tile 1 originally was and the other half is exactly where the tile 5 was. Move the tiles 1, 3 and 4. Then, move the tile 2, 3 and 4. Move the tile 5 now, then 1, 4 and 3. Complete the round by moving the tiles 2 and 5. You can now proceed to the second part of the basement.

BASEMENT PART 2
DIFFICULTY: EASY
Of course, there has to have a maze in a puzzle game. Actually, it's not that hard to make your way through this maze if you go upstairs from the main hall, go left then enter the room to the right. Check the carpet on the ground to see a maze. Yes, it's exactly the same in the basement, which is nice. Feel lazy to go there and write all the directions? Alright. Fortunately for you, I did this:

All you have to do is take the fifth path to the right, then keep moving forward, then to the right, take the first path to the right, then right an left. Take the first path to the right, keep moving forward, go right and finally left. You escaped the labyrinth but the exploration of the underground area is not over. Time to go to... the crypt.

CRYPT
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
Basically, you have to shut the coffins. However, it's not an easy task since they will open and close. Also, the layout changes everytime you restart the puzzle so it won't be the same. Yes, it's one of these random puzzles. I don't really have a solution but I noticed a pattern for the coffins. If you open or close the coffins to the west and the east, only the coffins located to its top and bottom will be affected. If you interact with a coffin located to one of the corners, it will affect the ones around it. Lastly, if you open or close the one in the middle, only the ones to the north, to the south, to the west and to the east will be affected. I hope this will greatly help you because there is, like I said, no other solution to this puzzle besides the one you must find by yourself. Good luck with that. Once the puzzle is solved, a cutscene will be triggered and you'll be back to the library.

SECOND FLOOR

HALLWAY
DIFFICULTY: EASY
You must solve the other puzzles before. Then go to the second floor then to the door located to the far north of the map. Do you know how to play checkers? Great! Just keep the mechanic, that's all you need for this puzzle. This is a puzzle made of knives, as you can tell. You need to remove the knives one by one by jumping, exactly like checkers. It's a bit tricky and this is the last obstacle before the final puzzle of the game. The book can be used to solve the puzzle instantly if you have some troubles, like the other puzzles you solved earlier. I'm going to make a star and replace the knives with numbers so you can get this puzzle and then solve it easily.

Now, time to explain how to solve it, step by step.
Step 1: knife 7 goes to slot 1
Step 2: knife 2 goes to slot 4
Step 3: knife 9 goes to slot 3
Step 4: knife 10 goes to slot 6
Step 5: knife 3 goes to slot 9
Step 6: knife 1 goes to slot 7
Step 7: knife 5 goes to slot 8
Step 8: knife 9 goes to slot 7

The stairs to the attic will be unlocked afterwards. Open the door and go there to solve the last puzzle of the game.

THE CRIMSON ROOM
DIFFICULTY: EASY
Yeah, it's the room of that young sulphurous woman. The puzzle is on the bed. You must make a sentence (again) with these letters. However, you can move back and forth, three or five tiles only. Also, these symbols are required to make the sentence. They stand for spaces between words. Here is the sentence you have to spell out (symbols included):

"The * sky * is * ruddy * your * fate * is * bloody!"

Yes, this is cheerful, isn't it? Anyway, a cutscene will be triggered afterwards, showing the young woman with the old man. You can interact with the bed once more for another scene (censored with invisibility since it's not suitable for underage people ). You can leave the room now.

THE GREEN ROOM
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
When you enter the room, you'll see the nice wife of the old man looking around the room then the carpet. That carpet is the replica of the maze you'll find in the basement. You can interact with the painting above the fireplace and the mirror behind you, next to the door. The puzzle itself is hidden under the carpet. Check the carpet then click right on the middle to start the puzzle. You see four white bishops and four black bishops. You don't really need any chess notions since the only thing you must know about this piece is the fact that it moves diagonally in four directions, as many squares as they want in one direction. The gimmick of this puzzle is simple: you must swap the bishops. That's it. But it's not that easy. A black bishop and a white bishop can not be on the same diagonal. Once the puzzle has been solved, you can leave the room.

THE BLUE ROOM
DIFFICULTY: EASY
A cutscene will be triggered when you enter the room. Check the mirror to trigger another one then check the carpet standing before the drawer. That puzzle is simple: you need to lead the blood form the heart to the end. How? By flipping the lines on the way to the end. You don't have to flip all of them, of course. Since the way is pretty much linear, here is a screenshot showing where the blood flows:

After solving the puzzle, a new cutscene will be triggered. You can now leave the room and proceed to the next puzzle.

THE PLAY ROOM
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
Enter the room to trigger a cutscene. Then, trigger another one between the snooker and the chess board. Now check the chess board. This is the puzzle of this room. You must place the eight queens on the board but you must make sure they are isolated. By that, I mean none should be on the way to another queen placed, like the puzzle with the bishops in the blue room. Here is how you have to place the queens on the board to solve the puzzle:

A cutscene will trigger afterwards. The snooker hides a one way secret passageway to the kitchen. Go back to the library to trigger a new cutscene and unlock the rest of the rooms in the second floor.

THE BATHROOM
DIFFICULTY: EASY
Click on the floor to start the puzzle. The gimmick is exactly the same as the bishops puzzle, but this time it's the knights' turn. You have to swap the white and black pieces to solve the puzzle. The knight moves like a "L". It's something minor to know about knights in chess. It's not a hard puzzle honestly. I'm not saying you'll complete it in one minute but it's not challenging. After solving the puzzle, a cutscene will trigger. You can now leave the room or take the secret passageway leading to the library (one way passageway) by the washbasin.

THE MAGICIAN'S ROOM
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
First of all, there are two secret passageways if you turn back. The door to the left leads to the kitchen, the one to the right leads to the library. Each of them is a one way passageway. The puzzle is on the table close to your position. It's a cards puzzle. As you can see, the back of the cards is shown. You have to flip the cards in the right order. Be careful, you can be stuck easily and forced to restart from the beginning of the part. Everytime you flip a card, the next needs to be at the top, at the bottom, to the left or to the right of the last one. It doesn't have to be next to the last card you unhid but on the same row or column. It's a puzzle in two parts. Here is how to solve it:

Watch the cutscene and leave the room.

THE DARK GREEN ROOM
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
You can trigger an animation if you click on the champagne bottle. Click on the briefcase to start the puzzle. So yeah, hmm it's... the same puzzle as the cards puzzle but this time you need to flip the coins. I'm not going to describe how to solve it, it's the same gimmick. Here is how to solve the two parts of that puzzle:

Watch the cutscene then click on the door to the left to trigger another cutscene. This door leads to the chapel, where another puzzle awaits you.

CHAPEL
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
A cutscene will trigger when you enter the chapel. Check the floor to start the puzzle. Understanding how this one works is a bit hard. Each colored tile has a meaning and you'll notice that, while you're making your way from the first arrow to the last one, the tiles will fall down. Well, it's where the meaning of these tiles is necessary. The blue tile removes the last tiles you stepped on, the orange tile removes the last two tiles and the purple one removes the last three tiles. Here is the path that solves the puzzle:

Move forward to start another cutscene, check the organ to the left to start an animation and go right to go to the laboratory.

LABORATORY
DIFFICULTY: HARD (REALLY HARD)
Check the table to watch a cutscene and the experiment device for another one. Then go towards the microscope over there and click on it to start the puzzle. Well, the mini-game, rather. Yes, it's pretty much a mini-game. You can only beat this mini-game by using strategy. You play against the AI and you have to get more blobs of your color than the ones of the computer when the board is filled. There are two ways to use a blob. The way is simply click on it then on an adjacent spot and it will duplicate itself. The other way is the gap. You can skip a spot and step on the next one. However, the blob won't be duplicated. You can swallow the blobs of your opponent with your blobs but keep in mind that the AI can do the same moves and swallow your blobs with its blob as well. There's no set solution, it's totally random. Your only ally here is strategy. If you have some troubles to solve this puzzle (which is clearly understandable and not a shame at all, fear not), I recommend using the book at the library.

NOTE: As far as I recall, this puzzle is optional. You can complete the game without solving it. But I dare challenge you to beat this mini-game without cheating :3

THE DOLLS ROOM PART 1
DIFFICULTY: EASY
You can trigger an event if you click on the doll. Otherwise, click on the toy placed on the table to start the puzzle. This is not a hard puzzle. You have to click on the little dots around the wooden toy to flip the tiles and remake the picture. Once you solved this puzzle, a new cutscene will trigger. Check the doll house to the left to find a door. Open it to go in the second part of the dolls room.

THE DOLLS ROOM PART 2
DIFFICULTY: NORMAL
Check the toy box to trigger an animation. Now, check the drawer to start the puzzle. You need to spell three words of three letters with these blocks. If you remember the puzzle in the last area, it's the same mechanic. The three words to spell are: GET, BOY and TAD. Once you solved the puzzle, watch the cutscene then go check the bed over there to trigger another cutscene. Now go in the toy box to go back to the library.

THE ATTIC
DIFFICULTY: EASY
It's the last puzzle of the game. The book can't be used in order to solve it. It's you against the puzzle. But you'll see, it's easy when you get this puzzle. You noticed the differents windows. There are four types of windows and each of them represents a direction that will be assigned to that window for the rest of the puzzle and can't be changed anymore. The next window you'll click on will define the direction of the last window. There are three stages. Here is how to solve the puzzle (and yeah, there's no 3D perspective thingy, my bad ^^ ):

A cutscene will trigger afterwards. Check the chest then move forward to trigger another cutscene. Now, go left, open the door and watch the final cutscene then the credits (with a nice jazzy song played in the background called "Skeletons in my closet" ). Congratulations, you completed "The 7th Guest".

Well, that's all for this walkthrough, folks. I see you next time for another adventure. So take care and I see you next month. Bye, bye!

Bye, bye!
