Davideo7 :   I am unable to install the newest version of the plug-in. I have had the previous version installed, but when I tried to play a game yesterday it asked me to upgrade the plug-in. So I removed the older version and downloaded the installation for the newer version. Unfortunately I get an error each time I try to install the thing. "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete cannot be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." Do you have any idea why I received this error message, and - more importantly - how to solve this? I am using Windows Vista and I am up to date with my Windows Installer version.

Also, I would like to thank you for doing what you do. It is great to be able to play old and newer games on my pc! And I am looking forward to be playing again in the future if the install works.

Davideo7 : I have a problem with the download: whenever I click the download button, another tab pops up saying that Internet explorer cannot display the page, and no download box appears. How do I fix this? I have Windows 7 with Internet explorer.

applesarefood12 : You will not be able to use an older version of the plugin. You have to use one of the supported OS's to use the RGR plugin. You could however use the Java plugins that just require updated Java. Keep in mind that this computer is going to be slow, so you will have a hard time playing some of the more advanced games.

anonymoose : Please use Chrome or Firefox to use the RGR plugin. Those are the two browsers recommended. If you insist on using IE please make Vizzed.com "Trusted" Status within the IE options.

Jordanv78 : Thank you for your swift reply and advice. Unfortunately, downloading the install from the mirrored link in Chrome still did not allow me to complete the installation with success. I still receive the same error regardless of what I try. I was wondering if that could be the result of bits of the previous version that may have remained on my laptop? When removing the plug-in I could not find a folder that was named Vizzed, so I removed it through the program remover Windows offers; start -> control panel -> programs -> uninstall. Any chance this might cause the problem and any ideas on how to solve this?

0Sanne0 : It sounds like whatever you did messed up windows and thinks that it is still installed. The uninstall/change function in Windows control panel should removed any remaining items.
After it's uninstalled, reboot. Then install the newest version of the plugin. Also, make sure you are "saving" it to your computer, not trying to "run" it from the download link.

Just for future reference deleting folders without going through the uninstall function screws things up more than it doesn't in Windows OS, so I would stop doing that ASAP.

MarioMasta : About 64 MB. If it's taking you 26 minutes to download 64 MB than that's not hi-speed, sounds more like dial up.

I'm trying to play one of the metroid games but it's not letting me and it's saying that I need the newest plugin and I did that but it's still not letting me play! D:

I'm trying to play some gameboy games and it isn't working with my keyboard and i don't have a cp controller, so is it possible to be the plug in or more likely my computer? I have used this keyboard to play games a lot but it's not working now on the GBA games.

phenix fire13 : Keyboard has always worked fine as a controller. Double click the game window, then configure the controls to the keys you want.

I feel kinda stupid, i had hit internet explorer without thinking and thought it was Firefox, that's the reason it wasn't working.

The thing doesn't work anymore.., I'm using fire fox and when I tried to install it... no loading was even TRIED it is just madness... please close the download and fix this.

Davideo7 : I have tried this five times.  Every time I download the new plug-in [1.91]. when I restart my computer, I cannot connect to the internet.  Only by doing a system restore can I regain access to the net, but then I no longer have the plug-in.  I'm going in circles and accomplishing nothing.

Darkus4223 : The download works fine. Please be more specific as to what the issue is that you are experiencing. Does it not install? Or does it install, but the games don't load? Please be specific as possible so I can help you. Screenshots help a lot too.

Laray : I have NEVER heard of an issue like this. The plugin should not affect your internet at all. Are you making sure to have ALL browsers close while you are installing? After reboot, does your computer still not connect to the internet?

What Operating System are you running? What Anti-Virus software are you using?

I was messing with the controls and deleted the controls for the arrow keys, I have them set as WASD instead. I f possible how can I get the movement controls back to the arrow keys? Certain games are a little awkward not using the arrow keys.

I'm sorry Dave. Doesn't support Chrome for some reason.

thm241 : Which emulator are you trying to change controls for? Most of the time double clicking the game window brings up the control configuration. MUPEN N64 emulator does not allow you to change the controls. So if you want to change controls for N64 you have to use the 1964 emulator.

Swedboy2010 : The RGR plugin works fine for Chrome. I'm using it now. Chrome and Firefox work best for the RGR plugin. If for some reason you are having an issue with Chrome it's probably because you installed the plugin with the browser open. Un-install, then re-install WITH BROWSER CLOSED. Then restart PC. Try to load a game. If Chrome still doesn't work, then try Firefox.
